" It's no good trying to place your hand where i can't see because i understand your different from me".I was singing this song when i was 5 years old.
My God I love it when Syd talks. It gives additional substance to the song. He certainly does not sound detached, disorganized, or crazy. Maybe the music helped him keep it together the way it helped Glen Campbell toward the end.
@@FeelingShredYeah, everybody knows that Roger Waters is an asshole. I’ve heard many people who saw Pink Floyd concerts in 1967-1968 period say that Barrett’s habits on stage were not as bad as the rest of the band said they were. I wouldn’t put it past Waters using Barrett’s drug habit as an excuse to kick him out of the band as Waters wanted to become more commercial, and Syd would’ve never had that.
Ridiculous, have you heard their albums after he left? A different style, but much less commercial before DOTM. Roger Waters would have surely preferred to keep him in the band. Your theory makes no sense.
It's the very take that was the basis of the album version - this very recording with musicians added on top (and struggling with Syd's timing). The solo recording is my favourite.
I'm sorry, but Syd on this recording doesn't show signs of being "out there, empty eyed" as the Pink Floyd members would claim on interviews. Not to mention the mechanical precision and focus required to play the entire song without missing the beat like this. Seems like we were fed a bunch of lies. And it's cruel because they took away from him the only thing Syd still had in life that could possibly had helped him heal, music.
jesus why are people so adamant that those guys are lying? they arent the only ones saying that there were others there and there are many attestations to his behavior in different interviews and documentaries. Why on earth would they lie?
So all the people who lived, worked and played with him for years, and actually knew him are lying, and you know better because of 5 words on a recording. You typify those Barrett fans who absolutely refuse to accept reality. I love Madcap too. It's one of my favourite albums, but I'm under no illusions about how difficult it must have been to work with someone as unpredictable as Syd.
@@silverdragon710 People who can't accept Syd's issues just never grew out of the teenage thing of putting their idols on pedestals. So Syd isn't allowed any flaws and you get a hissy fit if anyone says anything to the contrary.

I imagine Syd making this song up, on the fly, to make Gilmour feel uncomfortable. The lyrics make sense with this theory.
Different version 🤪👍 Left handed #111 - thank you so much 🤓
