Traded the 1.2 (Caleb Williams), for St Brown, 1.09, 3.09. I already had Stroud/Burrow so i thought i got good value.

I will say I hate the term “fleece” I’m in 5 leagues, and ya winnings the best, but having great relationships with your leauge mates is the value noone talks about, and keeping good business. I’ve made some downright trades that were foolisisj at the time, and my leauge mates I made trades with tried to talk me off of some because it was a bad deal for me at the time, but I had to go get my guy. Been in leagues with people who try and fleece, pull a fast one, and those leauges don’t last, it’s the one with good relationships that have lasted and the ones that try and fleece tend to find themselves out of the leauge within a year because they don’t like we try and do fair business. And those are the funnest leauges
Actually Trey Lance was traded for a 4th Round Pick to the Cowboys and has a higher trade-capital than Fields.

Guys i remember the Gibbs talk. He had one good game after Montgomery got hurt in the middle of the Season. Your advice was to use this and try to sell high on Gibbs. It is very good to see that you admit this mistake. That is the way how to reflect your actions, learn from mistakes and improve yourself for the future.

I think there needs some more nuance to “don’t sell assets that have dropped in value.” Sometimes cutting loses at 80% value is the smart play.

Usually wouldn’t condone trading your first rd pick but for Jefferson maybe. Keep your 25th see if he’ll take less or add in a 2nd rd pick

Awesome content and excellent advice. I started taking on rebuilds 3 years ago, and negotiating 1-3 years free buyin depending on how bad the team is. I've learned to do exactly what is being discussed here. First thing I do is down tier any studs and see what value I can exrtract from Vets. It's also important to note, if you can't find the right deal - you don't have to trade. Sure holding a player is a little riskier with the threat of injury, but I'm not shipping Chase for Davante and a late 1st bc it's the best offer I got... I also think it's important not to send blind offers. I try to engage with the owner and discuss needs and try to get an idea of how they value players. I've scooped up a lot of Anthony Richardson this way at the beginning of the offseason before he started getting hype again.

In SF, absolutely… in a 1QB it depends on who your QB is and if it’s a late or early first. I would give a late first for Kyler if I didn’t have a QB and could contend this year.
I traded Dionte Johnson for marquise Brown right before they both got traded/signed. I still feel okay about it.

I get what you’re saying - but he is objectively a far worse QB than Lawrence. That is indisputable fact, Lawrence is going to get a 2nd contract for good money, and Justin Fields is worth a 6th round pick according to NFL teams. There was absolutely no market for him. That alone seals the deal for us, his performance was never great and the trade to the Steelers confirmed what we thought.

The Allen trade is more nuanced than just the nfl thought he’s worth a 4th. Ignoring the money aspect is just disingenuous and makes me question why I’m listening here
