    That is a great build!! For me I just make average housing for my projectors out of black boxes with a tombstone in front of it or a pumpkin if it's the singing pumpkin so the singing ones blind in with the regular jack o lanterns I even go the extra step to color match them with theatrical gel over projector lens . I also never leave my projectors out.

      DoNnEgRoW I use an Epson 2045! But a great bright cheaper option is the Benq MS24A which I also use!

    This looks amazing! I'm in the process of buying all the supplies needed. Do you have a video showing how you assemble everything?

      Hey Dennis. Thanks for watching. Unfortunately I don't as I did not have the foresight to take photos/videos of the build process.

    Okay, maybe I'm thinking wrong, but on the base, wouldn't the base ply be 19x24?
    Since the 1x4 is 3/4" thick, that would add 1-1/2 inches to the 17-1/2" dimension.
    Or maybe they are 1x4 cut to 17, not 17-1/2"?

    How did you secure the projector box to the ground? In addition to locking the projector up I’m worried about someone just removing the box. I have a couple ideas but wanted to see if you figured out a better way.
    Also what kind of vent did you use?

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  3 года назад

      Thanks for watching! I personally don't feel the need to secure mine as I bring my projector in at night but you could easily secure the box to the ground using an earth anchor and cable.

    Hey Zach sorry if I spelled your name wrong so Im doin the pumpkins and I'm definitely using your idea for this projector housing with putting my own twist on it but I have to ask do you have a video for the little pillars that hold the pumpkins? Please and thanks

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  3 года назад

      You spelled it correctly! That's great that you are giving the projector housing a go and I hope that it turns out well! The pillars are actually plaster plant stands from At Home and Hobby Lobby.

    I'm not "handy" at all, so this is a big project for me. How are all the wood pieces connected? Are you nailing, screwing, or is it all done with the wood glue?

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  3 года назад

      Understandable. I completed this build before I really knew much about woodworking. All of the joinery is butt joints and drywall screws but it would be done much differently today if I needed to re-do it. I will be taking custom orders soon for next season if you are interested!

    Hi I'm planning on building a housing for my projector can you share the link of the video on how to make it? what materials to use and tips on making it as you know outdoors it will face alot of weather challenges and this will need to be well thought out. Thanks

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  6 лет назад

      Hey Emmanuel and thanks for watching! I go over the materials needed and the dimensions you will need to cut your pieces of wood around the 1:50 mark. You will already need to have some basic carpentry skills as this video does not include step by step instructions but it should get you off to a good start!

    This is great thanks for sharing. Just wondering what kind of primer you used on bottom and do you think I can use indoor / outdoor paint and that would waterproof it enough.

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  3 года назад

      Thanks for watching! I would recommend a base coat of Drylok Original Waterproofer then you can decorate with whatever paint you like!

    Was that vent sufficient enough to not overheat the projector?

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  4 года назад

      I just run a small pico projector inside of the box so it does not get very hot and one louvered vent has been sufficient. If you plan to run a larger projector inside of it, I would consider installing a small computer fan.

    Awesome idea! Much better than the enclosure being advertised online by Deertv.com. A whopping $869.00 for the large enclosure. And worse their made in China?!?! Awesome build!

    How much did it cost overall?

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  5 лет назад

      Thanks for watching! The cost should be between $75 to $125 depending on the supplies you have on hand.

  • @pdblackwell

    So, how much would you charge to build and ship one of these?

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  6 лет назад

      Hey Peggy, thank you for your interest in having one of your very own projector housings. I have not yet taken any commissions but I would probably say between $100 to $250 shipped depending on size, whether or not you would need it painted, epitaphs, etc. Feel free to email me at toilandtroublesdiy@gmail.com if you would like to discuss!
