Defender Weapons are extremely powerful weapon upgrades that are very cheap to make and allow you to power through the game very quickly. I recommend not using them as a beginner so you can follow with the games natural progression. By using defender weapons you limit your own growth as a player and can't fully understand your weapon or appreciate the earlier monster fights. I do also recognize that this is my own opinion and you can enjoy the game however you please. Love the video keep up the good work!
Thanks for the tip, I said this in another comment but I will definitely go for the regular weapons, I much rather have the full experience than just half. Thanks again bro!
@@Goncy and believe us, you will need the full experience, more when you reach a certain monster the whole community agrees on one thing, she's a bitch.
Defender equipment is for returning hunters that want to blast through the base game. Don't use it if you want the normal experience. If you still use it. You might not be as ready as you think for the rest of the game. Ya'll have been warned 🤣🫣😉
Defender equipment is not meant to be used if you wanna learn. Its like a cheat code to reach endgame faster for experienced hunters who already finished the game. It wasn't originally in the game and only got added later.
Well I was gonna comment on the defender gear but it appears my brethren have beat me to it. I hope to see you grow as a hunter and best of luck. This is one of my favorite games, I hope you get the whole experience. P.s. HBG main I suggest giving it a shot.
People will say it’s not necessary to learn until later but I personally recommend learning how to clutch claw to monsters faces or whatever is easiest to hit for you and press y/triangle to tenderize the spot and deal more damage, but more importantly when the monster is not enraged you need to clutch to his face and only his face for “wall bangs”. While on his face you can press B/square to make the monster do a 90 degree turn and press the RT/R2 to flinch shot all your slinger ammo into the monster sending him running into whatever it’s in front of and knocking it over for big damage
Oh man you need the dlc base game is just the tutorial. All jokes aside iceborne is absolutely worth it some of the very best monsters can only be fought with it. Plus them juicy level four decorations can only be gotten there too.
Im an insect glaive main. Always get the red buff first before you beat the hell out of the monster. It increases your attack and changes the animation for longer combos. You did so much better compared to how I used it for the first time. Good job.
Yep, I noticed the red buff was super cool but I didn’t know how to get it until someone in the comments told me, so now it’s going to be much more fun lol. I did use the training area for a couple days trying to get used to it before recording the second part of the video (the part after the livestream clips) but I’m pretty sure you did really well the first time too. Thanks for the tip 😊
Best tip for insect glaive, collect the buffs by shooting you kinsect at the monster, red attack buff comes from the head, yellow defense buff comes from the body and white movement buff comes from legs/wings. All three buffs at once also give you low level earplugs(roar resistance) and flinch free. I don't know if you had gotten familiar enough to notice the difference in the moveset, when you have the red buff, each attack has double the number of hits, so red is the most important buff to keep up. Have fun!
Yeah, I was super confused about the buffs, and I did notice the red one was the best. The fact that the buff changes depending on where you hit the monster was something I did not know. Thanks so much for the tip. I’ll try to aim for the head from now on and I’ll also try to get the three buffs from now on.
You are on a journey you will never get the same way again. I recommend following the tips left ahead of mine, and try to savour the ride. You only get a first MH game once.
A great tip for farming materials is that you can capture the monsters (except for elder dragons) instead of killing them, this will give you more monster materials. Once the monster starts limping, you can place a shock trap infront of its path or in their nest where it will eventually go to sleep ( to recover health) . And once its paralized from the trap hit it 2/3 times with tranq bombs.
@@yaipha8338 you can also just use tranq bombs before using traps so you dont have a problem about getting messed up by a random monster while using tranqs
Hey quick tip if you are using an insect glaive you can move back and forth while you are on top of the monster so you can deal more damage, just move your movement stick wherever you want
fav. weapon is hard, but i like the sword and shield a lot. It is a fairly basic weapon, but with some nice dept to it and you can use items without putting it away (but you do put it away really fast sooo...). I tried all the weapon but funny enough insect glaive is the weapon i used the least because i hate the gathering buff part :)
Good game bro, maybe u have read other guy to give you tips for insect glaive, and yeah he was right, if u want make it better pretty sure updrage ur insect to lvl 5speed atleast Btw insect glaibe have infinite combo without need seathing u need atleast ted buff
@Goncy it's was the primary power from insect glaive bro, white make u jump higher, and flinch free, orange give 5% buff def if I didn't forgot All buff u got u ATK speed increase Enjoy the hunting :)
@@Goncy Sorry just saw this If you press start theres a tiny option that lets you organize your item bar. Thats the big one Theres a video on the old castle super beast channel where the first episode is JUST learning this stuff
I can understand skipping cutscenes and content if this is your tenth millionth times doing it. But if it's your first time and you're skipping shits without getting the context first? You deserve to fail. So good on you for not skipping stuffs this time round.
I’m the type of guy that gets too excited and just wants to get fighting you know, but I am trying to better myself in trying to watch the cutscenes and actually understand them. Thanks for the kindness bro!
DO NOT USE DEFENDER WEAPONS/GUARDIAN ARMOR! They are baby mode weapons added in Post Update and they ruin the progression. Also not to ruin your fun but they absolutely ruin the Insect Glaive in Monster Hunter Wilds. It is nowhere near what it was. It pretty much is a completely different weapon.
I’m changing back to the regular weapons cuz yeah a lot of people have said the same thing lol Someone told me they changed the glaive a lot in wilds so I’m gonna wait until it’s out and then see if it’s still worth using or not but thanks for letting me know bro
Pro tip: ditch that defender weapon. Those turn the game into a joke. If you want to learn how to play your weapon and whatever monster you are fighting, don't use them. Also, after you ditch the defender weapon, re-fight the great jagras and kulu-ya-ku. Just to feel how to actually fight them without cheat.

You can’t skip most cutscenes in this game
I think his chat said that as a joke to "Not to miss it" Surprise you can't skip almost every scene.
i'm so sad i missed the stream but glad you're playing this

Don’t forget to sharpen your weapon when you have downtime using the whetstone. It makes you do more damage. Also I play greatsword mainly :)

I get that getting the buffs might be annoying 😂
Don't be intimidated by the number on the mini map. They indicate area/zones of the locale, nothing to do with level at all you'll be fine.
Ah, okay hahah, I was confused on why the numbers were there but the monsters were still easy/fightable lol
Since its so fun to you, just wait till endgame or even close to endgame content. It's even funner and so rewarding

I get that! In Elden Ring I like to go with Colossal Swords for the exact same reason 😂
Hopefully I can get a game or two in with you when Wilds comes out,Cross Play is going to be off the chain!!!!!!I I'm on xbox, what platform you on.
