This movie reminds me why I loved Dreamworks. They were a great competitor to Disney, their movies took chances that over animated films wouldn’t. After Trolls and Boss Baby it seemed like Dreamworks gave up, while BlueSky just made Ice Age movies, Sony was was desperately trying to find a new franchise with either Hotel Transylvania, Open Season, and even Smurfs, Illumination just made bland kids films, and Disney just made average family films because they had no real competition. This movie brought me back to those good old days of Dreamworks.
I honestly loved Big Jack Horner. You have 2 villains who are sympathetic to an extent. Goldilocks wants a real family and goes through her own arc of appreciating what she has and the wolf is the physical embodiment of death and serves a natural purpose for life and nature. Adding a third villain who is just pure evil adds to the movie because it gives a villain to outright root against. Also he’s the funniest part in this movie imo along with Gemini Criket on his shoulder lmao. The dynamic of those two had a guaranteed laugh out of me every time they were on screen together.
I understand the dislike of Big Jack Horner, but the point of his *entire* character is to be a cliché pure evil villain with a freudian excuse that the audience can laugh at. BJH is the perfect comedic villain, because he is so unreasonably evil that he goes back to being funny.
One of the most surprisingly amazing movies of the year. Imma be honest I love Jack Horner he’s so hilarious and a great additional villain to the movie. This movie pulled of 3 villains better than Spider-Man 3 ever dreamed of
There was actually in November last month a one day early screening you could go see it in certain areas it was in my theatre but I couldn’t go to it sense I was with family for thanksgiving!

Puss is my favorite Shrek character and i loved his first movie, still really excited to watch this one
With Disney being focused on propaganda Dreamworks should rise from it's grave.
