Awesome Sameer. I'm a SQL BI Developer just starting to investigate Big Data. You have such a nice ability to make the complex seem simple. It's a real gift for any teacher. I appreciate it.
This is literally the best presentation ive ever seen regarless the subject of Computer Science. Thank you very much. Extremely helpful for my Big Data Uni exam
I agree this is certainly the best and professionally clean and detailed tutorial I have listened to. Thank you for simplicity and friendly knowledge sharing :)
Great intro to Hadoop. This talk was specific enough to be informative and useful without information overload. The Yahoo example was a very interesting real-world example, also. Thanks very much!
New to Hadoop and watched this video the first time and completely understood the whole process and architecture behind it - great video, please let us know when you are going to do more of these.
I really like the way you presented the information. It's easy to understand and analyse the contents you were talking about. I appreciate and thank you for the information.
Gr8...stuff Sameer...it helped me understand and I believe it helps others too to begin with Hadoop ! Cheers...and Looking forward to other sessions from you
Great presentation.. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain this. Was a bit freaky in a capturing the audience kind of way when you did the disappearing act..
Hi Max. Yes, the client connects directly to the DataNodes to get/put the blocks. However, before the client goes to the DN, it first goes to the NameNode to get a list of locations to write the block to (3 DNs). The NN is not in the read/write path as far as the block goes. Client just have to go to the NN to find out where to do the writes.
Awesome. Bring clarity & connection from theoretical to codes. Next maybe automatic upload to HDFS rather than manual. Will tune for next Hadoop tutorial.
Thanks for very good explanation of Hadoop HDFS.. I really impressed with your way of presenting.. Hope to see more videos on different topic of HADOOP.. Thanks again sameer for your time in sharing great knowledge with us.. :)
Sameer Great job on delivery of content and knowledge! One tip. when presenting stay to left or the right of the screen. Too much movement across the screen makes it difficult to follow what you 're saying as one may end up focusing on your constant moving back and forth.
Hey, Sameer - good presentation. And a quick point about you moving around, which someone criticized. I think you _should_ move a bit rather than standing like a wooden block. Especially when you are presenting to a room of people, if you stand in one place then some people won't see. If you move, they get a chance to see the slides. So, keep it moving. ;^) And tell Alex and Rooz that Chris Bedford said Hi.
Hi there. Google didn't release the C++ code for GFS, MapReduce or BigTable, but Apache has open-source implementations of these in the form of Java based HDFS, MapReduce and HBase.
Awesome Sameer. I'm a SQL BI Developer just starting to investigate Big Data. You have such a nice ability to make the complex seem simple. It's a real gift for any teacher. I appreciate it.
