A strategic king sacrifice can be an important tactic if you want to force a draw. After all, you can't get checkmated if you no longer have a king on the board.
When magnus hangs a queen it’s “a beautiful sacrifice” and “tactical” but when I do it I’m “committing regicide” and “will be hanged, drawn, and quartered at the stroke of dawn”

Yes, AA and AAA are standardized worldwide and are based on the metric system.... It's strange here in the UK, officially we are metric, so all foodstuffs have to be in Grams but our roadsystem still uses miles and we still measure our speed in Mph
The US is officially both metric and imperial as well, although instances of metric usage in the US (outside of scientific pursuits) is rare. For me, I'm most interested in both the US and UK using a gallon as a measurement of liquid, but just not the same 'gallon'. . .
Metric usage in the US is mostly confined to science and sports, i.e. "10k run" in the US refers to 10 kilometers, not 10k yards. We also use the litre but we spell it liter, as in "2-liter soda". The system we use for most things, with cups, ounces, gallons, inches, feet, yards, pounds, etc. is called the Imperial system, and it's not very good. Fahrenheit is, however, superior to Celsius in my opinion, simply because the degrees are smaller so it allows for a more granular (precise) measurement in whole degrees. Celsius (really Kelvin) is better for science, though. Everyone almost everywhere uses the same measure of time.
@@kevinemery2750 technically speaking, in terms of metrology the US swapped to metric in the 70s when it decided to define all measurements as precise ratios to the metric system (i.e. an inch is *exactly* 25.4mm). As for the precision of Fahrenheit, the problem is the same, it’s only “precise” in the sense of being a smaller unit, but it’s precision is dependent on the Celsius scale. The modern debate is simply silly because Fahrenheit now is everywhere a scaling factor, *all modern thermometers are Celsius*, they just change the printed lines and numbers.
@@kevinemery2750 you could argue that F is more accurate than C if you're only using whole numbers, however the fact that water freezes at 0 and boils at 100 makes it easier to gauge temperature at a human level :) Same goes for Km as opposed to M I guess :)
