- Free motion quilting for your viewing entertainment. This is not a class or tutorial, but you can learn from viewing. As a longarm quilter, I often do computerized custom quilting; but love it when a customer asks me to do free motion fills and take artistic license to randomly quilt. In this short video, I quilt a split feather, outline a quail applique, and fill in with leaves. The pattern is "The Gathering" by Barbara Persing. The piecing was done by Robin, a customer of mine. I, Julie Pettyjohn, am doing the free motion quilting.

This machine is a Handi Quilter Stitch 710. I bought it from Angela Walters, Quilting is My Therapy.
What kind of foot is that???
It is the Handi Quilter Micro Quilter. I absolutely love it. I have total view and can get up close to things without remembering to adjust for 1/4" from my ruler. The only thing to be aware of is that it is made for micro quilting - small spaces - so as you can imagine, it does not like to be moved long distances and quick speeds. The thread pulls away from the foot and tension can mess up. As long as you keep it in a 3 to 4 inch movement space, it is amazing. I think it is about $60.
@@JuliePettyjohn thank you!!
