I wonder if the first step could be done less violent with a gentle amount of heat.
And if I can replace my battery and assemble everything back again without damage... And even waterproof?

Hi, could you succesfully replace the battery? My battery is starting to degrade and I'm debating whether to replace it myself, or buy a new phone.

@@SolarWebsite The battery replacement looks pretty doable on this one. No applying heat or some alcohol, just a few screws. Even the back cover is held on by screws, many other phone companies glue those on as well, or make you at least use clips to detach them because they saved on either of those things. Personally, I would go for it. There's little things to do wrong. You won't necessarily have that luxury when buying a new phone afterwards, if you don't happen to look at repairability.

I think the trickiest part about this phone is the most outer back protection. Not necessarily taking it off the phone even though I have to admit it looks a bit panicky, but gluing it back on correctly without accidentally covering the cameras or generally making it look bad.
