This was at what was then the Hilton in Lake Geneva, WI in 88 (edit - it was '87...I'm getting old) during the Alpine run. Jerry was there too. I was 22 and we were dropping off some younger folks before heading back to the lot when someone came out and said they were in there. My friend's "chaperone" (older sibs) got us past hotel security and for about an hour or so we witnessed this amazing display. Bobby disappeared after a bit, Billy was DRUNK and hitting on my friend's much older sister, Brent never stopped playing, Jerry joined him for a bit. A couple of us who were there ran into Jerry and Brent on Bourbon Street way later, the night before a New Orleans show, and Jerry looks at us, "Hey! You guys were at that bar in Wisconsin, man!" *That* was a seminal moment for me.

Think this IS 88', Bobby's hair is shorter in 87', 88 was the grow the pony tail year. :)Also, Brent debuted Little Girl lost in Alpine 88' and had it pretty down here.

More soundchecks, jam sessions, hanging-loose clips, please. Seeing them interact without the audience present (under pressure)teaches we students of their prowess, the mentality of why they'd play this way or that way in concert.

you would have to be a keyboardist or vocalist to understand just how great Brent was, and how hard it is to do what he did without much effort. Genious!

@lsailor Surely you weren't the one who lifted that GD highlight reel from Justins house, are you? And I TOTALLY expect you to answer truthfully. lol. Even JK said he didn't really mind that they were released.

I fucking love Brent. Pigpen was awesome, sure, and well frankly Keith never did it for me, since he was perpetually fucked up. Brent was made for the GD.
