  • Chip companies ASML (ASML) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM) could disable their chip machines remotely if China were to invade Taiwan, according to a report from Bloomberg. The report states that US government officials have expressed concerns to Dutch and Taiwanese officials about what could happen to the semiconductor space if China aggressively escalates tensions with Taiwan (ASML is a Dutch company).
Yahoo Finance's Akiko Fujita breaks down the report.

The machines cant run without the PLC code. PLC code is licensed and encrypted. China will find a way to copy the code

Does the USA not defend the free market? Why do you prohibit the Netherlands from selling the most advanced machines in the world to China? Are you afraid of being overtaken by China sooner than expected?
