This challenge would really be interesting if you created a new whatnot and ebay accounts without promoting that it was yours, without the week stipulation, to see how hard it is for the average joe to become successful
I love this series but 1) Episodes where you go to connections houses are so disconnected from the regular viewer/ reseller 2) Getting pallets of controllers etc from connection is also unrealistic 3) Use of already stacked whatnot is a bit of a cheat code. Love the episodes at the yard sales and some of the tips.
The previous $10 series with Dave is closer to what you're after I think. This one is more about challenging THEIR business (connections, knowledge, community) and seeing what is possible with that built-up support system later down the line. Think of this one like "If everything Chase and the gang bought was GONE, could they start over?"
Also don't forget that "regular" resellers can make local connections, purchase pallets of items locally and buildup a Whatnot platform over many months (even if it doesn't end up being as big and/or successful as this one then it's something to aspire to). Start with whatever you have and build it up!
@@Minimalinput I do get this, but the answer is quite clearly yes 😂, we knew that from the episode when a pallet of controllers etc turned up. I love the series, just wanted to comment on what I enjoy most about it.
@@realwildgoods I totally get that, I do the same. It’s more from a viewers experience, I prefer when they go to the yard sales and find some great items. Rather than watch an episode where their friend sells them items. Find those episodes less engaging.
@@chrisgunn3442 I think it's good for them to have a mix and if getting tonnes of items like this means getting them from local connections, then I'm glad that they're able to use the opportunity to put out more content and showcase some cool things. One thing that's awesome to do is to go back to older videos like seasons 1-3 and watch those original garage sale hauls again.
Based on their second rule, should the pallet of controllers count? I remember two weeks ago they shared that they bought controllers, but they arrived in last weeks episode. Isn't it based on when they bought them and not received them? If so, they sold them in two weeks of time of purchase and not one week.
I like the fact that this revamped challenge forces them to stick to a quick turnaround. Feels like it would be too easy if they had infinite time to sell things/drag the challenge out.
Thankfully, I’ve been able to come home with something every weekend, a lot more than last year for sure. I ask at every single sale, “yall got any video games?” The more I specify the more success I have. Thankful for this channel because opportunity is everywhere!
This is really the first year I've set time aside from my full time business to specifically yard sale on Saturdays. I think I've found games every weekend I've been out so far. Deals are everywhere, some good gold scores (got 3+ grams in some people's giant free/trash tarp on the front lawn this year), all kinds of stuff. Power of the ask works, yesterday got a ps1 with cords/controllers, handful of games from out of the house lol. Couple weeks ago almost 10am in a community sale that every person i asked said i was the first to ask them about having any video games- found a wii u with cords/controllers and a few games including wii sports resort for 5 bucks in the driveway in a box still sitting, i asked if she was sure and she said yeah.
Something that crossed my mind the other week as they were unboxing all of those game manuals and game boxes … part of the reason they are valued so high is due to the fact they usually got thrown out with the rest of the packaging, because we were just kids and frankly didn’t care. When huge tubs of things are found like this, what are the chances that the value of these items will slowly start decreasing over the next few years because so many more are now in the market floating around? My immediate thought was all those Pokémon boxes.
The power glove is always searched for by collectors for sure. Plus all the other deals he hooked you guys up with. Definitely going to make a great batch of sales this next week. Great job n great video always
at the beginning of yard sale season I was finding tons of stuff..but recently it hasn't been much, I actually have been finding more at thrift stores recently.
This season has been trash!! Last yard sales season i got 40 consoles the whole season this year im half way through and have bought 6 (4 were Wiis!) Mid Ohio sales are just sooo many more game buyers suddenly. So sad. Glad you guys actually talked about it

I've actually done better with yard sales this year then any other year before. Fyi, the power glove isn't a Nintendo product. It's Mattel's. Licensed, perhaps, but not manufactured by Nintendo, so calling it the worst Nintendo product is unfair to the virtual boy
I had a powerglove as a kid and it never worked from day one. I have one now and it also doesn’t work. But it was hyped in The Wizard so I had to have it.
15:00 so CLEAN IT. go buy a tiny spot cleaner clean the dirt off of it on target you can get a small one for 100$ a bottle of cleaner around 20 bucks and each use you are going to use very little so one bottle will last a bit. and once you buy it then work to pay off the cost of the machine its low cost for materials and then it would take a bit of time to clean it. just an idea to expand your market to something YOUR community want i mean you said that in the video
