I've been following you for a while now (Turkey) but I haven't seen your first videos, so I'm really enjoying going back in time with you. You're very inspiring. 🤗
Hey Brian, well there will be some hills, but given our physical shape we are pretty glad we did not chose to make our big test by crossing the alps :-)
90 km on your first trial day is really a lot! Many people would've hit their "wall" by then. As you get going on your trip I'm sure you'll find the right rhythm and right distance. This will always change based on weather, terrain, road conditions, and interesting things to see that take some time away from the bike. That's what makes it so very much fun. -- I look forward to catching up on the rest of your videos, then following you on your journey.
Hey Charles, welcome aboard! Well, yes the first day was quite painful. It took us a long time to do such a distance in one day again ;-) Enjoy the trip!
Yes, I fell in love with the color too. Unfortunately it is not the right size, but we bhought it second hand and did jot understand better at the time.
I just discovered your channel and what a great find. 😃😃. My wife and I want to do a cycle from Saarburg to Koblenz in 2024 along the Moselle. ( easy ride, especially on E-Bikes ).As we are from Australia Its good to get ENGLISH commentary as most German cycle vids. are naturally in German language. Have you done the Moselle yet ????. we will follow your next vids with great interest. Keep up the good work. Thank you. Max and Fiona.
Hi travelers, we wish you a very nice and enduring Journey. We will be starting in December our biking around Sicily, as yours, this one will be the first longer Journey with bikes. Love your video, nice and funny. Safe travels and best regards
That is so sweet of you to say. Thank you very much! Sicily in December can be fantastic if you have a little luck with the weather. We wish you a great trip and lots of tailwind!
Haha Binni 😄 Lieben Dank! War extrem viel Arbeit, aber wird bestimmt mit der Zeit besser wenn wir bisschen Routine bekommen. Nächstes WE gibt es hoffentlich die nächste Folge!
We will need to carry a pretty heavy load. That is why we decided to do the classic touring bicycle approach. We went for second hand bikes to be easier on our budget. Pinion and belt are out of our league 😅
Here's a hint: don't look where you don't want to go! Your body will move towards the place you're looking at and saying (aloud or otherwise) "I don't want to go there!" So always keep your eyes focused on there you WANT to be, not where you don't! :D For not having ridden much distance, doing over 90 K on your first day is an amazing accomplishment! I'll also be utilizing Warm Showers on my trip. So far, to date, I've actually hosted twice! So great to hear the adventures and advice of people who are out there doing what I want to do! Great video! Keep them 'real' like this the whole way through! Tchuss! I'm two months away from finally starting my ride around the world! I will criss-cross the U.S., E to W, then W to E to NYC and jump across the 'big water' to Ireland and continue. Stay safe!
Nice way to look at it. Got much better already! Warmshowers works so great. What we found, try not to make a fix date with the potential host, rather ask for a window for your arrival. How much time do you think you will have for your big adventure? Sounds awesome!
Viel Erfolg auf eurer Reise - looking foward to your journey. Little tip for long bike tours and back and butt pain - seatholder suspension, with that you won´t feel gravel roads that much and your spine won´t ache. 😃
Wow 90km on the first day without any training - kudos! Glad you made it and didn't give up! I do a lot of Sunday tours (80-110km), but when cycling multiple days, I start with 60ish... and that even with much less baggage. I hope you'll find your rhythm and Arev will feel more comfortable on the bike each day!
Maybe we were a little over-motivated 😅 It was not a very good idea to say the least. We are pretty confident, that she will become more confident in time. 60 sound much more reasonable. We underestimated that impact of the additional luggage.
For the gravel and sand. Let go of the grip a little bit, leave your arms relaxed and yet firm it´s normal to slide or off track a little bit. Also, specially on the sandy parts, keep your head up and your gears easy and pedal hard in a high ratio.
When was this trip recorded? It was uploaded 8 days ago which is mid to late November but the weather seems more like summer or early fall. When is the next leg?
Hey there. You are absolutely right. This was our summer holidays where we tried our first long distance tour. The footage is from July 2021. We hope to finish editing the next episode (covering the week aftwe this video) until the next weekend. It is kind of a mess as we shot way too much footage, so editing down is a lot of work.
Hey Abbas! We've used komoot a lot, but in the L'Esterel mountains, we tried OsmAnd. We love that it is free, offline and the POI are great to find water and stuff, but found the routing that day less than optimal. We have a Samsung phone that can be charged via the hub dyno. Cyclo comp is a fairly basic "Sigma BC 14".
Thank you for the offer. Right now we are pretty much locked in into our setup. We decided for the classic touring setup to have flexibility down the road once we hit more difficult countries while also being able to carry the load we need to manage all seasons and climates.
Good question. At the time of this video we still had a rental in Berlin. Technically we could probably be referred to as homeless now, but we certainly do not feel like being homeless. There is places in the world where we have friends and family where we are always welcome.
Don't worry, we are already a little bit further down the road in the south. The editing of the videos just takes an insane amount of time, and we did not find the energy and peace to do them immediately.
I've been following you for a while now (Turkey) but I haven't seen your first videos, so I'm really enjoying going back in time with you. You're very inspiring. 🤗
Awesome! Thank you! Quite the difference, is it not? 😅
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour Oh ya You're amazing !
☺️
2 weeks with no hills... paradise!
Hey Brian, well there will be some hills, but given our physical shape we are pretty glad we did not chose to make our big test by crossing the alps :-)
My favorite bike tourist videos are newbie videos. I just love watching people discovering how awesome and terrible it is.😂
Welcome aboard! Yep, there is quite the learning curve involved. As we're going east towards more challenging countries it doesn't stop too soon ;-)
Woohoo. Great Video. Looking forward to many more!
We as well 😅
The goal is to make another one every two weeks. We will give our best!
Interesting to see your first day on the bike and how far you have come since that initial trip both literally and metaphorically. Safe travels. Jay
Yes, we can't believe it ourselves sometimes 😅
Wow super pour une première journée !
Haha, merci. Le chemin est encore long.
Cool
9:00 PM and the sun still shinning...owo!
Yes, the days are long in Northern Germany in the middle of summer 🙂

It is also great for us. We get to enjoy it again, and again and again in the editing 🤣
Love the orange bike my favourite colour ,🎉

Hey there, and thanks for the appreciation 😀 We didn't do the Mosel, but it should be very beautiful. In the meantime, enjoy watching 👀 😉
You will get in better shape each day. And I have found that one hour of cycling before noon is worth two hours of cycling afternoon
Yes, it also feels nice when you have done some km already!
I appreciate your videos. I took am not an athlete, but my plans are to cycle the Romantic Road and along the Rhine.
You can do it! Just take your time. Do not set a target how far you have to go every day.

Sure, that was too long a distance for a first day, all your body has to get accustomed to this new situation. Nice adventure in perspective!
Yes. We had done about that distance on single day tours before, but with mich less weight.
We met on the road in van, Turkey. We were 2 bicyclists. We look forward to when it will arrive.
Sure, we remember you two! But you will need a little patience ;-)
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour ok thanks you . Fallowingg 🙏🙏
Go for good gravel bike with good tyres, a soft comfortable seat, pinion gearbox with gates belt drive, good start, GOOD LUCK

Following you on your world tour from Mizoram, India. Subscriber #235 🙂
Wow that is so cool. If the situation in Myanmar gets better we might pass by your state eventually!
Wow, that will be wonderful. Will be able to assist you, if needed...
That would be great. Let's hope that more countries and their people come to peace and we will be able to continue to the East.
