I'm sorry Lord for all of my prayers that are not in accordance with your will. Sometimes I pray just for my own benefit and not for your kingdom's glory. I'm sorry Lord for all the prayers that are selfish and self-seeking. You are truly the God who listens to my every prayer. And you definitely answers my prayers if only they are in line with your will. Amen
Amen, we all have those times and we all need to pray that prayer when we realize we have done so. I can tell you from my own experience that the more you get to know Him and the more you love Him you gradually see things more and more from His perspective. It is a lot like slowly turning around to face the opposite direction. You will still sin of course, still fall short, still occasionally want things that are not in His will. But they will be less selfish and more along the lines of things that are not selfish so much as simply not in His will for whatever reason. God be with you and I hope to get to meet you in heaven some day when we're both there 🙂
Sis, God listens to ALL prayers, it doesn't matter if it's selfish or self-seeking. When a child goes to her father, does any father deny his child because she didn't come with "right motives"? God is better than we think, sis. Don't let anyone tell you how you need to pray.
