Manga gives a much better explanation than anime! Akashi has what we call "kinetic vision" where he's able to discern people's body reactions and movement, and combined with his intellect and reaction speed, he's able to "predict" super accurately what his opponent will do from there. And the reason why he's able to ankle break people so easily is because he's able to determine their center of gravity and take advantage of it in the most efficient way possible. Obviously, no normal person can do this--no doubt that Akashi is a prodigy and knows how to use his kinetic vision in the most effective ways.
Shogi is probably his training to predicting how someone moves or reacts on certain situations or could be also an innate talent and shogi is just pure hobby lmao
@@hazmatsuitforntr5591 i think it’s the latter that it’s just pure innate talent and as a result of that, he stumbled by accident that he’s naturally talented at not only shogi but also basketball (since akashi canonically noted that both share unexpected similarities)

I've said it before. This show has no right to have so many bomb ass one liners.
If we were to put it through a more realistic lens, Akashi is an expert in analyzing body language and adapting to it (with an insane reaction time too, do you realize how fast players move in basketball?)
these episodes really encapsulates why he is respected by the GOM and why akashi is HIM.
How Midorima's changed & has total trust in his team now is just so sweet & wholesome. Love that undershot of Miyaji in slo-mo right after Midorima expresses his pride in his team. &, of course, Midorima & Takao is a great combi (I still wish he'd stop calling him "Takeio", though...🥲).
4:30 There's a scene in the bloopers about this part that I found cute & funny.
These are some of my favorite eps. We get to see Akashi’s power, but also the amazing combination of Midorima and Takao.

Conceptually Akashi's movements are actually based on Magic Johnson (referenced in the manga). A point guard who can both assist or take control depending on the situation.

Yeah, Takao's pass into Midorima's palm is exactly like Kageyama's set into Hinata's palm.
