Akashi used to refer to people by their last names(Kuroko), after the switch he started using their first names(Tetsuya). I think thats such a subtle yet clear way to show that hes become a different person.
I know there are some people that think that the Teiko arc flashback should have happened at the beginning of the show but I think this is the perfect placement for it. Because the amount of dickery displayed here might have been too much of a turn off to some people so I'm glad we got to endear ourselves to them before that. It makes it easier to not have a negative feeling of wanting "revenge" after watching it but being sincerely happy and wishing for them to "reconnect" again. This show is basically a reconciliation arc if you think about it. "What's victory?" This moment sure left a mark on Kuroko because if you think back in season 1 when Kagami was starting to show signs of taking a similar path to the GoMs it was also the first time Kuroko openly displayed his emotions. Not a passive aggressive snide remark or sarcam, but full on emotional outburst. Glad that Kuroko found a team that helped him heal from this wounds :)
Some little detail: Back when Akashi was normal he usually call them Aomine, Kise, Murasakibara, and Midorima, but when his other self take over he started calling by their last name Daiki, Ryota, and Shintaro. Which indicates that he is no longer the same Akashi.
you got it backwards, Daiki, ryota and shintaro are their first names Using last names was a sign of respect, first names indicated he saw them as beneath him
21:00 Totally agree that it was a perfectly placed, perfect flashback arc. Love the story & how it's constructed/executed. Some people complain about the "unrealistic super powers" of this show, but those things are just a means to get people's hype up & enhance the telling of the main story/plot that it's trying to convey, which is "what playing basketball means to someone", & I do believe that everything just works to do just that.
Pretty sure in the manga it was Kise's idea to pull that stunt with Ogiwara's team (and Akashi just rolled with it because it kept the team motivated to try). Which....yeah. Lol. Worth remembering he can be kind of a spiteful asshole when he doesn't respect people, even if he is a great guy when he DOES like someone.
akashi's mean personality uses first names (tetsuya, daiki, etc) and refers to himself as Boku. Whereas the first one used last names and referred himself as Ore. (The word Ore is a informal way to say "I" usually used by men with people they are close with. Where as Boku is the midle formality and the most common "I" for men, in day to day use.)
I love the Dr. Jeckel/Mr. Hyde reference you made when referring to Akashi's split personality. I love him for it. The Teiko backstory really went from 0 to -100 real fast. I'm just glad that Kuroko was able to get everyone out of their "the only one that can beat me is me" mindset. Like Aomine said to Kuroko before the Yosen game, "Besides, I'm the one that should be thanking you." Also, are you going to react to the movie after season 3?

I was just about to comment this. Hope he sees this. Its just a nice detail
Little fact: in the manga, it’s made explicitly clear that Kise is the one who proposed the 111-11 plan. All Akashi did was agree to the plan 😬
