I have spent some time this morning searching out and listening to past performances of this classic song.
I have enjoyed versions by Nat King Cole, Sinatra, etc. I even listened to the great Bill Evans. Even he did not, in my opinion, deliver as fine a performance as you have here. There is a deeper level of emotion and feeling (for lack of a better phrase, I guess) in your presentation, a real connection as you carry us away, as you revive wonderful memories of the past.
You are not a jazz pianist, as you say, and I agree with that (you are the most versatile musician I have ever heard), however, I must insist that you have a rare talent, a rare ability to interpret this genre as well or better than most, including acknowledged greats of generations past.
Thank you, again, for this gift, this treat for all to enjoy and, of course, for all your hard work. We are blessed to be here with you and each other. ❤❤❤
