Oh. My. Goodness!! This is simply outstanding. I couldn’t look as you tore apart the hutch, because I really do love those old hutch/buffets….but wow!! You really have a gift for design and your execution is excellent. Can I come play at your house? 😂 I would love to do this everyday!! Don’t worry, I’m just kidding. You have inspired me tho! Enjoy your day! ❤
I'm awfully sorry that you've got people complaining about your work withouth knowing anything about the piece. I think that the piece looks rustic in the contemporary way and that thanks to your hard work, it'll last in somebody's home for another 50-70 years. New subscriber. Keep it up 😉
I appreciate you. Criticism comes with the territory. I’m ok with it. In the end, if I can make someone’s day better by refinishing a piece for them, then I have done my job. Thank you for watching. 😘
I love it so much! What paint did you use for your wash? The glaze on top was perfect❣️ - the tone and more dimension👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 What do I do with my spoons🤷🏼♀️
Wow! What a transformation! I, for one, love the legs you put in it. It is perfect!! I love your channel and am glad to have found you. Keep up the good work and ignore all the grumpies who like to criticize!!! 🤩👏👏🩷
I loved the leg reveal! I’m wondering if you could get that same result with just topcoding and then using the glaze or if it’s necessary to do the white wash first. The result was beautiful. I think I would’ve liked it if you had glazed the interior where the shelves were as well.
This isn't some priceless 17th century hand carved piece of furniture, for goodness sake! "Vintage" just means it's an older piece, not that it is rare or valuable. I like the makeover, fresh and modern.
💯 Agree with you. I got a lot of people mad that I me for doing this one. Which I never understand, because it wasn’t going in their home. Thank you for watching. 😘
Did you remove the negative comments? I went through all 51 comments (as of now) and could not find a single one. I guess there are really 3 reasons to refinish or restore furniture. 1. For a client or to resell. The only thing that matters is the commercial value. Is it what the client requested or will it sell in the relevant market and will it generate a profit. 2. It is to keep for oneself. Here the only relevant matter is whether it is what the refinisher/ restorer envisaged. Everybody elses opinion is irrelevant. 3. As content creators. Primaliry the reason to restore or to refinish furniture, is to get revenue from advertisements, brand associations, brand sponsorships and the like. The more likes, subscribes, sharing of videos, the more revenue is generated. Even negative comments are a plus in terms of the algorithm. There are content creators who would leave nasty comments because of the response it illicits. I have heard that some even have an arrangement with commentators to specifically make nasty comments, because it drives up the number of viewers and therefore revenue. Like it used to be said that bad publicity is better than no publicity. As you mentioned, it comes with the territory.
I haven’t removed any comments. All the negative comments were on a different social media platform. And I find it very interesting to hear everyone’s point of view on this subject. I am actually a fan of both and when I can, I absolutely love to restore old pieces. But I also love painted pieces, done professionally. Thank you for your thoughts. 🤍
@@ItsAboutFlippinTime As an old man who has done this as a child helping Dad, that cane is very unusual. I hate to think what it costs. Dad would often only refinish the tops but he liked how I could match the top color and finish to the rest, and touch up some scuffs. You did a commendable job of restyling this hutch. The color and hardware were the worst, and the simplified profile is takes it over the top. That looks like solid maple, which I don't think you can buy today at any price. This is a little too fancy to be called "country". Great work.
This is so cute! I love your work!
That’s a great redo. Look forward to more.
Love for you to follow along. 🤍
You go girl. Go from fru fru to stylish and clean. I love that color.
Oh honey, you did that piece a favor! Beautiful transformation! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you, I think so too! 🥰
It looks so much better than before, in my opinion! Beautiful result ❤🎉
I think so too!

What a beauty. That would look awesome in any modern farmhouse home.

Where did you get the material you used for the inside of the doors? Maybe someone else asked in the comments and I missed it.

You could do without the paint wash. just depends on the color or tone you are looking for.
@ Thanks!

Great project! Could you link where you got the feet please?
I will add that to the description. Thank you for watching.
Great viddo!
🎉 thanks for helping me admit that it's ok to revamp a piece that juiuust doesn't do it for me
You’re welcome! Sometimes, a fresh look is just what you need.
What fabric did you use for the doors? Looks great.
I used cane

I just find you and love your work, I also love that your video's are a great length of time! I liked the new doors! This piece turned out beautiful
I appreciate you, thank you! 😊
It's beautiful! I call this art! Did you sell it or are you keeping it?
thank you. I sold it pretty quickly.
@@ItsAboutFlippinTime how much did you ask for it?
It was horrible! I would buy it now! ❤
It was such a cool piece. So glad I took the chance on it. 🖤
Olá vêm fazer férias em Portugal para me ensinar a trabalhar 😘😘😘😘😘😘
It was ugly, lovley restoration 😊
