Whoa! That's an amazing video, Coach Justin. It is what I describe as "surgical" coaching tips, which pinpoint specifically what to do and what not to do rather than ok tee drill is good. I don't play anymore, but we are all guilty of just putting the tee there and swing, swing, swing. Excelente vídeo y muy buenas recomendaciones.
Man, you're fantastic instructor. This is my 4th video. I can tell you are a baseball scholar. Thank you for your transparency. It's a shame I couldn't see your tips awhile back ago. I would have left my raw potential athleticism amd instead developed smart & informed ball players mind. Shame. Thank you for your transparency.
Excellent advice. I am going to share the video and emphasize your teaching points when my H.S. team meets up in the gym for the long indoor wait until the fields are ready in Vermont. I think it will help focus their tee work. So many of them just hack away, quickly waiting for the cage to open up, not moving the tee or thinking about what they are doing. I was never taught the right way, so it makes sense that they are doing exactly what I did when I was a kid. Never too old to learn. Thank you.
Man, just reading the comments. Justin, wow youve really made a great positive impact on numerous people. That's good stuff kid, literally an amazing thing. God bless you and yours, from Canada.
always great stuff Justin, We always preach kids dont do enough Tee work but even more importantly far too man who do dont get out what they put in to their workout because they do it wrong ,,,
GREAT VIDEO! What tee do you suggest would be the best to use for indoor and outdoor use? Because some home plates are flush to the ground depending on where we play, or like when we go to the cages, the tee is off balance when placing it close to the plate. Also, what would be the best way to mark the plate for tee location? So kids have a general idea of where to place the tee after each set.
Germain Ortiz does a pitch come in the same spot every time? Just throw a ball on the tee, it will go with solid contact no matter where you hit the ball.
Not really, no. You can place the ball on the tee any way that you like. One thing that is helpful to do from time to time is place the tee so one of the seems is on the inside part of the ball... that way you can focus on hitting that seam and if you do, you'll crush the inside part of the ball slightly below the equator - which is ideal for backspin!
The green dot on the barrel? I am pretty sure I know what it is. If it is you marking the sweet spot you should do a video on that, especially for tee drills and batting practice. Great thing to for juniors to be able to visualize.
Great advice as always!!!! I have a hard with something sometimes. I need help with when I pull my hands back and take my leg kick I think that it’s slowing me down. Do you have any advice to make that part of the swing 1 fluent motion
Hopefully you've resolved this by now, but try less leg kick or remove it all together. Many players can generate the same bat speed and ball exit velocity by just keeping their front foot planted firmly on the ground and just rotate on their front foot, this can also help with over-all body balance throughout the swing. It takes a lot of repetitions to get used to, but it could help make your entire swing more fluent.
I would suggest not worrying about launch angle, especially as a young player. Everyone talks about it these days, but you can hit a ball just as hard and far without trying to change the angle your bat comes through the hitting zone, in fact, many players that try to achieve greater launch angle just end up hitting more lazy pop ups and fly balls. Watch some videos of Hank Aaron's swing, one of the greatest HR hitters of all time. He had very little launch angle in his swing, but had great balance, kept the bat head in the hitting zone longer and created more ball exit velocity by hitting the ball squarely on the barrel.
Don’t worry about launch angles kid, hit line drives, hit the ball hard and level swings. Worry about getting the barrel to the ball.. staying connected.
Hey guys remember when I said that Coach Justin is starting to be like Kris Bryant, yeah well actually I think Justin is actually starting to be like Josh Donaldson and yes, even if he doesn't have a beard like him he's still starting to be like Josh Donaldson, for example Justin mentioned if you get on top of the baseball when your hitting, then it's gonna go into the ground, Josh had mentioned the same thing with Mark DeRosa or that Josh mentions that he worries about his hips and not his hands because bat speed comes from your big muscles AKA your legs and Justin had mentioned the same thing when he made videos about bat speed
People who don't know baseball don't understand the value of good tee work. I admit that it isn't as good as live pitching but you can break out the tee almost anywhere if you have a decent batting net. I also use tees that adjust from the bottom of the strike zone to the top. Cheap tees give you the ball from the belt to the letters.
You forgot to mention not to just stare at the ball on the tee, but instead, start with your eyes up like you're looking at the pitcher, and then lower your head to hit the ball.
Yeah.... only thing is Extension does happen at contact and through contact.... along with your wrist snapping through the ball... so your swings top speed gets through the ball... swing goes from zero to its highest velo back to zero... if your swing is 65-80 an hour... u want top speed through the ball. Otherwise pretty good video...👍🏽 remember hold your 90’s... if u don’t know what that means.... level up.
I’m confused because in a different video you talked about “don’t squash the bug” yet you clearly do it here. Why teach us NOT to do something yet you do it in other videos anyway... Do we squash the bug or not??
Great stuff and I eat poo and pee The game was so good I would play the first one first and I would play the first one first and then I would have played the first one game is this game is not a good one but I have a lot to do but it’s a game game play.

I enjoy watching your video so much. Thank you.

I couldn't agree more, Thomas. Thanks for watching!
This may have fixed some problems. Excellent video!
That's awesome to hear, Mike! Thanks for the support!
Nice video coach justin I appreciate it. I don't train with a tee. Do u think I should train with one? If so where should I get it?
I definitely think you should start using a tee! You can find them online or at a local sporting goods store.
@@UltimateBaseballTraining thanks
Very good video. I practice this with my daughters.

Nice video coach, can you do one on which way the label 🏷 of the bat is supposed to be and which way should the wood grain be facing?
Great video! You did good young man!
Straight up exactly right!!!!
Hey coach Justin I was wondering if there is any particular way to put the ball on the tee?

Great Video!
Thanks Chris!
Great video, Justin. You did it again

Hi I’m 10and I love baseball can u make a vid on launch angle sry if I did not see one

could you talk about drills for catchers?
Anything specific you'd like to see? I think this catching video will REALLY help you out!

Great Clip Justin...
I really need a tee because of quarantine but it’s super hard to find one here in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Totally agree! Nothing beats facing live pitching, but tee work is awesome because you can get as many swings as you want without needing a partner!
Just excellent
Great video....
Awesome Bro.
Great vid
Good stuff
Thanks Adam!
Hello , where can I get those sweaters and hats you wear ? I want it for my son

Were going to get your bat speed thing
Nice vid!

Are there any radars that aren’t so expensive? The pocket radar is like 300 bucks
Better put somebody in them mountains, cuz KABANG!!! my lil native little leagers gonna be hot come championships! Thanks coach
Does anybody have any tips for I keep missing the ball everytime I hit off the tee I can’t hit the ball
I was just about to hit off a tee when I saw this title . im glad i didn't.
👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Same I was like one more video until I hit off the tee and this was the first video I saw
What's the tee called
You forgot to mention not to just stare at the ball on the tee, but instead, start with your eyes up like you're looking at the pitcher, and then lower your head to hit the ball.

What tee?
I recommend Tanner Tees or OutWest Baseball Tees! Those are two of my favorites right now
Coach Justin, what batting tee do you use/recommend?
does it ever annoy you that they never hit it
Weather doesn't look so good.
Little chilly!
15, 20, 30 seconds before getting back in the box?
Only thing I haven’t agreed with you on in all your vids.
Love your tips though.
NICE JUST JUST PUT MY 11 YEAR OLD IN BASEBALL GOOD INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS

It really bothers me you never actually hit the ball in any of these videos. Good stuff tho 🤘🏽
Yay my son does everything right
I just be wacking them
👍. Z
bet you wont pin this comment
Great stuff and I eat poo and pee
The game was so good I would play the first one first and I would play the first one first and then I would have played the first one game is this game is not a good one but I have a lot to do but it’s a game game play.
You're starting to look more like Kris Bryant.
He needs the beard lol
You don’t want to place the tee so far back on the outside corner. You don’t get as much power, instead place it more in front of the plate
First
Thanks Max!
Don’t hit off a batting tee, period! Worst drill ever. Totally encourages bad habits
What are you supposed to do instead? Not everyone can always hit live pitching. Also, how does it encourage bad habits?
total ignorance
Single best way to become crap hitter is practicing off a tee
Fly ingDutch thats why every professional player ever has hit off the tee
Tommy Reid rubbish, never saw one in my time
I use to get stuck out every time I went up to bat until I started hitting off a tee now I consitantly hit doubles
Great Video!!!!!
