    Last year I bought the Roland JV90 together with the expansion board 60 & 70,s
    keyboards.Now, I play every day on the JV because I like the fantastic sounds.
    The Hammond,s The Fender rhodes, Wurlitzer, Moog, Arp, and the super Mellotron sounds are very nice.

  • @Jhihmoac

    I didn't have this one, but a friend did... This one featured samples from the Mellotron (If I remember right, there was even a patch named "Strawberry Fields"), several different variations of Rhodes electric pianos, ditto Vox, Farfisa, and Hammond B-Series organs (w. Leslie F/X), and some very old patchcord Moogs... If you were into the classic 60s and early 70s music, this card was for you!

      I have this expansion board in my JV 1010 here 5/3/2022.. currently own 2 of them. And I use midi for all my recordings. I use a Korg D3200 32 tracks of sweet music. And I have The Keyboards of the 60s and 70s with my Neo Ventilator Lesslie effects for all my Organ and E.Piano sounds. And it Blows Nord. ROLAND V organs even Hammond Suzuki and Vox Crumar or any organ for that matter out of the water bc that Leslie built in the units suck. Its the Neo Ventilator that makes a big difference for the sound.. gives the organs even the Cheese organ life...

    All my XP-80's have this expansion board.
    If you're a serious old Hammond player, this board is an absolute must get!!!!
    It says 60s and 70s keyboards, and indeed it has a mixture all of those most commonly used. But the board is mostly dedicated to awesome hammond sounds. It pretty much has everything you'll need. You don't have a nine drawbars like a Hammond, but unlike the Hammond organ, this keyboard is velocity sensitive which opens up a whole new would of dynamics for Hammond players. 😎

      Im about to buy an XP 30 Synth , with this board installed , how would you compare the sound quality of the XP Synths with the Newer Roland KeyBoards such as , JUNO Di, G, Gi , DS ???

    • @leemearns3808
      @leemearns3808 6 лет назад +2

      @@su4691 I've had my XP30 from new back in 2001, still use it as my main keybed and other synths are connected via midi. I use this and my XV5080 together. I believe it was an award winning keybed on this synth, with the weighted keys etc. I own a Behringer Deepmind 12 but I definitely prefer the keybed on the XP30.
      I'm sorry I can't answer your question about comparison to the Juno etc but the XP30 is truly a powerful great synth. I still use it to this day along with modern synths I've purchased.

      @@leemearns3808 Hello, can you hear the difference in soundquality between the XP30 and XV5080 by the same sounds? I mean no EFX, only the patches.
      Thank you in advance!

    • @leemearns3808
      @leemearns3808 5 лет назад

      @@andronikyegiazaryan3546 hi, I wouldn't say there is a noticeable difference, both synths are very clear even to this day in regards to sound quality. Comparing patches now there was one that featured on the both synths, but with all settings the exact same the XP30 one was warmer.
      I wouldn't say this is the case for all patches that are the same though.
      I really love the quality of the XP30 & XV5080, and with the extra feature of effects on the XV5080 takes it that bit further on creating different sounds that you've never heard before. I still to this day get surprised by certain sounds, and the memory card is great for saving them all.
      The XP30 Arpeggio section is really great, and with it midi connected to the XV5080 this can take advantage of the arpeggio as well.
      Both have things that the other doesn't, but with having both connected it's like one big spectrum of a synth.
      I do find the XV5080 more easier to operate through menus, like changing the tuning of individual notes etc...
      I'm happy to comment further on anything else on these synths or any other synths I own.

    The Hammonds on here are so much better than any Roland VR keyboard can produce, it's not even funny.
    For reference: I do actually own a 1961 Hammond A100 with a lovely Leslie 122 which sees regular use on stage and in recording studios, but I do use the '60/'70 sounds in my own studio, just to set up new songs or arrangements.

      Yes, cards are hard to find for the XV bro. JV cards are easier to find. Go get you a cheap JV1010 and find the SR JV 08 board Keyboards of the 60s and 70s and get yourself a NEO Ventilator 2 and use it with this Man it even blows the B3 emulator out of the water. minus the damn drawbar controls are not on here but somehow can be edited and saved on MaC or Pc. I dont know how that works I just switch between the programed patches and know where they are by turn of a knob in front of the unit.

      thanks for answering and for the advice! To tell the truth I managed to purchase a JD990 and one vintage synth board some years ago for a very good price. And then a 60/70s board. So I have the doubt if inserting it in my XV5080 would give me a plus of waveforms and patches or better to re-sell it. From Your answer I suppose better to keep it. Sorry for my understanding, actually I am italian....😊

    • @danaowens30
      @danaowens30 2 года назад +1

      The JV 1010 is the way to go.. because I have one and it is easier to just turn the 3rd knob to change patches meaning the sounds of the 60s and 70s keyboards is knowing where to change the sounds of the organs during song changes. There are 255 sounds plus an additional 255 more sounds totaling 600 sounds plus the JV 1010 has sessions sound board with pianos drum kits organs strings brass bass guitars human voices and this goes on over 2000 plus that card will give you a whopping 2600 sounds. Plus get yourself a Neo Ventilator 2 Leslie pedal effects for your Hammonds and organs on there let me tell you. With my Neo vent 2 I have those Hammonds breathing fire thru my Vent 2. You can get them on E bay or even Facebook Market. Or a local music store will have them used it took me 2 weeks to find mine.

    I have this on my XP 30, I bought it in like 2004. I didn't appreciate the sounds as much when I was younger, but as I listen to more 70's music, I understand what these sounds are meant for. I've always especially appreciated the keyboards. There are quite a few good organs, but I feel like you have to modify the controls to get the best out of them. A lot of them have a rotary effect, but aren't initially programmed to let you control the speed.

    • @danaowens30

      that is why they made the Neo Ventilator 2. I have one I use with My JV1010 with this expansion board I acquired last year and let me tell you aside from not having the draw bar controls it blows its own VR organs and that Nord boring keyboard both out of the water bro. I also possess the EMU B3 module and I also use My Vent2 with that real real life Leslie Control stop brake make her dirty and also make her clean. I also control top and bottom rotor parameter too. I hope ppl catch this idea quick before its gone from here. This is the closest to tonewheel as it gets in my honest opinion. • @ArgoJames
      @ArgoJames 9 лет назад +1

      In my home studio monitor it sounds pretty accurate, however in live situation I found this card is little picky about what keyboard amp you use... Most organ (Hammond) patches sound more bassy on certain keyboard amps. All mellotron patches are string based, but each has different character (some has slower attack, some has wet reverb effects, some are dry, etc)...

    • @armstronglance
      @armstronglance 8 лет назад

      You need a full range speaker system for this keyboard, for the sounds to sound accurate. DON'T use one of those stupid super bass rap hip-hop amp and speakers setups, their extended-bass response screws everything up. Paul Klipsch would be turning in his grave.
