We are closed in! In this video, we show you exactly how we installed the Timeless Fence System. Thank goodness we have kids who love to help!
No more cows running on this side of our property! Having the fence up will allow us to finally get into the next phase of homesteading! Building a home and bringing in animals! Get ready friends. We've got some crazy plans!

Great to see how all the kids helped and laughted. Great memories
Good job y'all. I was born and raised on a farm and have built many miles of fence in every kind of terrain imaginable. The last farm I had was 211 acres in very rough terrain and we fenced and cross fenced the whole thing. I'm not easily impressed and have seen some nightmare fencing jobs but you did a great job. 👍
Oh my. Thank you for the kind words. We love that we know know how to put up a proper fence. Feels good to have this skill under our belts. Thanks for taking the time to comment and tell us. That means so much to us. Have a great weekend!
The fence is looking great! You sure are a hard working family! Look forward to seeing what you do next.
Thanks Pam. It’s important to us to have the kids see us working hard and the fact that they to (mostly) want to help is just icing on the cake:)
My best friend and I have a dream. We want what you’re doing. I am an Az native, he is not. You’re videos are helping me show him some of the challenges that come with homesteading/living off grid/general property ownership in Az. And thank you for living within the rules instead of trying to change them…. Much ❤ from San Pedro Valley!
Great info on the timeless Tposts!
Dang! Yall's family is so impressive! That is SOO much work. Make sure to relax soon!!:)
You’re right. It is SO MUCH work, but we love that now we know how to put up fencing! Such an important skill out here. Vacation soon;)
@@TinyShinyHome what are the black post made of? Where did you buy them?
It's nice to see a family that works so well together
You are not making a fence. You are making memories.
Now you have to call St. Patrick to keep the snakes out!🥰
Looks awesome guys, super proud of you all. Appericiate you. Stay cool.
Thanks Moses. We are so grateful to you and Polly for taking so much time to come out here and teach us. Such an important skill out here.
I applaud you for your hard work. All fences have to be maintained...Electric fences can be tricky, as I am sure you've researched out. Up here in Rural New York, the weeds would always grow up and short out the fence, or ground it out. What a pain, troubleshooting and keeping the vegetation away from the fence. I wish you much success, "Cut it back, cut it all BACK!"
Yeah. There’s not much vegetation here so it’s real easy to maintain. It’s not for everyone but it’s working great here.
You guys are a Beautiful Family. God Bless
You have to be very proud parents, your kids are hard workers and it seems like they like learning and having fun at the same time !!!! I truly envy y’all, it’s always been my dream to do what your doing, but life got away from us so I’ll keep watching, learning and enjoying your videos!!
We’re very proud of these kids. They work hard and can still make it fun (most of the time). It helps that we’re all working together toward a collective goal.
Your property is awesome!!! Great work you guys
You have much of which to be proud! A wonderfully straight fence made built with your own hands. Congratulations! Wish you and your family the best on your homestead!
Rosered M thank you so much!
Hilarious!!! It's like Google was watching me just now and suggested this video for me! 😜🤣😬🤦🏻♀️ It's about midnight right now and I heard something outside and jumped up only to find about 10 cows trying to knock my solar mason jar lanterns off the grill and they destroyed the badminton net that I just put up for the kids a few days ago! 😱 This big longhorn just about took down my clothesline as I opened the door and scared them off! But this longhorn is a stubborn one...the rest scattered off but he stood there staring me down for a good 5 minutes! Kind of scary fella and dang him!!? Grr...need fence up asap! I actually rolled it out and laid the posts on it where I want them earlier today and now I must get them up right away but it just won't stop raining long enough to do it this week! 😬
Very nice fence.
Thank you! We love it
Wow, great job all of you! 👏👏👏 You can be so proud of your kids! So glad to see you got a tool for wrapping the wires. Ashley, you got so good in doing it by hand 💪 this was such hard thing to do. Looking forward to see what's coming next! 😊
Thanks Yvonne! We’re excited to get to the fun stage of building soon:)
Thanks so much ! Very clear explanations.
You could walk it by each one or two of you taking the pup for a walk around the fence daily. It would ckmpact and make a psth and teach pup the boundarjes at the same tkmd
We are waiting your video, Whole members are great and hard working
It’s up!!
Thanks!
Thanks Michael :)
It looks great.
Thank you! We’re happy with how it turned out
i seen your video on GDP and subscribed.. my little family (me, my wife and son) wants to move to Cochise County when covid allows (hope next year) BUT I never did timeless fence before looks REALLY interesting
Love your videos
Hey thanks for watching!
Just found you on Facebook, and sub'd.
I'm currently following "the upside of downsizing", "The Green Dream Project", "Handyman", "Blue Cactus Dairy" ( homestead that raises goats) and a couple others (don't remember the name of the channels 😏)
Did I see Yvonne, from upside of downsizing at the work shop?
I'm planning on moving to Cochise county in the near future (still haven't made the trip for land shopping yet).
Looking forward to getting to know you and your family. You really seem like nice folks.
❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈
Yes! Yvonne and Bill were here:) you’ll love it out here. It’s beautiful
@@TinyShinyHome I really can't wait. I come from Desert Rats (mom and stepdad lived west of Yuma (in CA) for 30 years). Few years after my stepdad passed, mom sold the property and moved in with me). Not exactly sure how mom feels about moving back out to the desert (putting on a brave face for me).
I will be asking Bill and Yvonne for some referrals soon... realtor will be the first.
Enjoy the rest of your day 😀
New Subscriber, cannot wait for your future. .
Really good video so fun to watch, glad you did it, a new phase begins!
Very excited about the next phase in building our homestead!
Wow, you guys have been really busy the past couple of weeks ! You have some good hard working kids too. What a awesome life they have too. Thanks again for sharing your life with us! Oh and that was a cool looking Mojave do you guys see many of them around there ?
Far too many...
Looks amazing guys!!!
Thank you! We’re really happy with how it turned out. Just a few more things to finish up!
Love the fence. Great job!
Thank you!
Amen~!
I just subscribed. So looking forward to seeing your journey.
Thank you!
Research well-done guys!
Thanks Adam!
You should make the trail where you drive in concrete
Maybe one day...not worth it at this point in time.
Six point two be do woo hoo 😁 poco a poco. 🍻
That rattlesnake made my heart stop! We have copperheads and timber rattlers, so I guess it is no more dangerous than here...
looks great but this makes me want to nail a bunch of pallets together and call it a day lol
I’m sure that would hold up real well to the free range cattle…
@@TinyShinyHome ill just duct tape some steaks and cheeseburgers to the fence, that should give them a warning
😂
Excellent Job! I love how you guys involved the children 🥰 How many acres do you guys have? And how many acres did you guys fenced?
We have 11 acres but only have 6 fenced right now.
@@TinyShinyHome Thank you so much! It helps as a reference, we got 40 acres in Texas but we currently live in New York. We may fence 6 acres, it looks like a lot of work 😬
@@TinyShinyHome so 6 acres? I have 5 to fence. Excellent work 👏 👍🏾
Well done guys, you're moving along nicely and holding it together, sanity wise😉. Btw is the name Timeless posts a trademark name or a generalised name for the design in the fencing world? Also, Ashley, did I hear you saying "maths" and not math? You don't sound Irish or English, maybe Canadian . I grew up in Ireland where maths was always used and then I moved to the states where math sounded way easier and easier to say. But anyhow it's inspiring to see you all pulling together and getting things moving👊
Haha thanks :) Yes, it's technically called the "Timeless Fence System™" We're both from here in the states, and just used "maths" as a joke. Sometimes we add "s" to the end of things that shouldn't be 😂. Anyhow, thanks so much! We are hoping to get the electric hooked up this weekend so then we'll officially officially be finished. Huge step!
@@TinyShinyHome I like to think outside of the box and I was wondering if you or anyone else really needs the electric part. I mean, you have the function that a fence provides against allowing any creature to breach the compound. So what I'm asking myself is , do I really need the electric, and does the added effort pay off. Or is the point of it , to prevent cattle from trampling it to the ground
Is that a thing? Whatever the case , you have taken a further step towards having skills which can potentially make a source of income for you or who knows, maybe the kids will start a fencing company in years to be.
@@JohnODonovan1 The high tensile by itself will keep out the cows, but small predators like coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions, wild pigs, etc..., could easily slip through without electrification. That's why the lower 3 strands are so close together. We will have animals at some point in the near future and need to protect them. Honestly, running high tensile is easier and cheaper than barbed wire, and it really doesn't cost that much more to electrify it it's a win/win all around.
We say “maths” here in Australia too 🇦🇺
Hi, now that your timeless system has been up for awhile, how do you like it and what size t posts did you use. Any pros or cons. Thank You
Hi, we have a full cost breakdown with links and details here tinyshinyhome.com/fencing-cost-breakdown - still love them!
Shalom AZ neighbor! Just began my quest Marana area. Sold my Tombstone parcel, but need security ASAP ! What's the cost in general for this? Looks pricey.
What would have been your 2nd or 3rd most secure option if on a tight budget? Theives hit me already...smh.
Thanks in advance!
I mean, I don't think any fence is going to keep someone out if there's nobody there - but ours has kept cows and predators out which was the main goal. It was actually cheaper to go this route that most: ruclips.net/video/qfgauAC2ytc/видео.html
Hey how did you attach the timeless posts to your wood posts?
Screws
I bought 28acres in Mc neal
How many acres do you own?
👍👍🇰🇷응원합니다 👍👍
How many acres do you guys have?
11 but only 6 fenced in
@@TinyShinyHome Just wanted to say that I love your beautiful property!...I live here in the High Desert and was thinking about buying a small piece property out in the Desert...I think 11 acres would be to much for me..maybe 1 or 2 acres so that I could fence it all in
Watch out for that pvc drying out. It's going to happen fast in the sun.
They are covered in a UV protectant and have a 20 year warranty. Not an issue.
@@TinyShinyHome the warranty is good. I have gotten uv treated pvc before to have it break two years later. Nice to see company's backing there product's.
please find a tractor.... nothing fancy hydralic bucket in front, PTO in back and a drag. cheers one video at a time.... trying to catch up.
9 strands!? Why?
To keep predators out.
@@TinyShinyHome coyotes? I’m a couple mountain ranges over from you and am planning my fencing now. My chickens are in tractors though with electronet fences around them. My wife would love to let them free range but we don’t have a perimeter fence.
