Every time Johnathan cut the tops of the wooden fence posts off, it reminded me of Chevy Chase "Clark" in Christmas Vacation......when he cuts the newel post off inside of the house with the chain saw, and yells, "The newel post is fixed." 😄
This and the fence build video popped up in my feed. I saw I had not 👍 on them, so I had to watch. The kids are so young. I had forgotten Ada's cheesy grin, and the cameo by Nine Nine melted my heart. I see another one is on my "suggested videos" so I am headed that way. Just another quiet Thursday night in Kansas City.❤
Oh electric fences! When growing up we loved making a chain of kids to see how far the electric shock would travel. We’d always stick the rookie kid on the far end, reassuring them they probably won’t feel a thing being that far away. 😂🤣😂
Another fun video. Watch the copper connected to galvanized. Not usually recommended because over time the joint will have a chemical reaction and corrode which weakens/kills the electrical conductivity. Sounds like you have a great adventure ahead.
I always feel a sense of increase and gratitude during and after I watch your vids! I'm learning a ton about the area we're about to move to. These fencing videos (and the water and sun shade video) are so valuable, as they will save us money, time, and frustration in the early phases of our adventure in Cochise County. I also want to share that I'm learning a lot about how to be a better partner to my soul mate, Bridey by observing how present and patient (and silly) the two of you are when you are interacting with each other. You always find the sweet spot between having fun and getting things done. Thank you for sharing your lives with us!
Thank you so much for the kind words! What a way to wake up this morning. I’m so glad we can help others that want to do something similar. I will say, we really should have pointed our trailer pointing East and West so learn from us:) ha. You’ll love it out here. Such a peaceful place. Let us know when you move out here!
LOVE that you wanna be as least disturbing of the plants already there!!! And Im a fan of odd shapes myself :) more unique and more personalized. Id fly the drone and see if the odd shape might lend itself to artistic view from above.
Since Arizona is in a gold bearing district it would be a good opportunity to pan out some of that dirt you're bringing up with that auger see if there's gold or nuggets or maybe even use a metal detector.
Hahhahhaha! "It shouldn't be too bad, theoretically" ....I can totally relate to that. Looks great you guys! Watching this motivates me to get to work....sorta ;)
Thanks for the kind words. We waited to long to record and had to get it wrapped up Monday morning and it was HOT! And thanks for the nice comment on the editing. We work on it together. I do most of it and Jonathan edits what I do. We work pretty well together;)
Loved that the beautiful fence is done and there is prep for some new critters! yay! can't wait to see. With all the work you guys have done not to mention adapting to a whole new environment and routine, I would love to know how you have managed to maintain routine daily chores (not to mention home school) and the division of labor! I am looking forward to seeing how that plays out as you add animals, plants, etc AND continue to develop the place. WOOHOO! miles and miles to go and that is what makes life so fun and interesting>>>the journey, learning, watching those kids acquire lessons and skills for a lifetime. love love.
Great family video---everyone got their hand in one way or another. Well, some got a wee bit of a "kick in the stomach"---but it's all to the good. I like the way y'all are doing it your way where if the land and roads dictate a wonky shaped paddock, so be it. Wonky will work just fine! Thanks for a light hearted vlog to lighten the day.
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. It means a lot to us:) and yes, we are loving having so many projects that the kids can help with:)
So amazing to see what you all have accomplished already. Congratulations on the fence it's looking awesome and I can't wait to see what animals you're getting. It's so exciting!! 🐐🐑🤔😀
Moses we're surprised you didn't have them use the Gripple Wire Twists to finish off those wire ends at each Gripple. Would have made it soooo much easier!
You all did an awesome job! This is really a testament that most anyone can install a great fence with the right tools and a little can-do attitude. Using Timeless Fence helps a lot too!
You prolly dont care but does any of you know a way to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the login password. I love any assistance you can give me!
@Ali Van I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Unfortunately it’s not a good idea of mixing material ( galanized and copper). If I’m not mistaken it’ll corrode the wire and cause the wire to fail. You may want to do a bit of research in case I,m right. My wife and I are moving to cochise next month. We decided to install the same type of fencing with the exception of the corners, we decided to use H brace instead of A brace. Painting the bracing black was a good idea, it looks great. 👍🏼
I'm loving your videos! Such great info and amazing what y'all have accomplished!! I am curious why you insulated your ground wire and why the ground wire is linked from ground wire to ground wire and carried under the driveway?
Because in this system it’s a negative, not a ground. It’s a full DC circuit. Only reason it’s in the ground is because we needed to drive over it and have a gate opening.
You both are looking good with your tans and sun bleached hair sitting in the trough! Does it get as hot there as the Phoenix area? Do you get the summer monsoons and haboobs?
Electrifying gates wasn't a priority. It's complicated and expensive. We already have approximately 2,000 rabbits running around on the property (jk - probably like 50), and we put cattle panel on the gate to keep larger predators from jumping through. Could one sneak underneath? Probably if it really wanted to. But they can sense that electrical field, and haven't breached yet.
LOL when you tell people not to look at something, you know they're going to make the extra effort to look. Were you distracting them from something else????? Hmmmm? At the moment I'm going back over older videos and enjoying them cuz you didn't make a video for release today (and I'm newly retired and bored... bored.... ) I have a little time this morning and I'm distracting myself from getting going on other things.

We always say, ‘it won’t take too long...” but then it takes three times what ww think. Ha
Props to whoever edits your videos excellent job ! Haft to say seeing you all in the stock tank was funny but I bet it was relaxing. You guys rock.

Writing this down for future video! Thanks for the kind words! We’re just getting started!
I'm so excited to see what you have planned for the property!
Nice to see you guys and that you are doing well 😊
❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐐🐎🐔
Thanks! We’re very excited about the next phase.
Looking forward on what’s to come... Awesome work on the fence 😁👌🏼👌🏼
Thanks!!
I like what you're doing guys!!! Cheers from Venezuela. 🤓👍🏻
Thanks!

Very excited about the animals!!
Looks good guys. I don't think it was me that put those wires in the wrong spot I had a lot of help that day LOL.
Ha. I know:) just kidding. It’s all good.

@Ali Van It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
@Lyle Pedro happy to help xD
Can't wait to see what's next!
I’m excited for what’s next! It’s a big, big deal:)
Normally I would cut the top of the post at a slant so that water runs off, but I guess that is not as much of a problem there as other places.
Excellant work! Love ypu guys!
Hey thanks!

haha that was almost like "thing" music to the tarantula. 😆
💛💛💛 well done ninja´s 💛💛💛
;) ha. Was wondering if anyone would catch our fight scene;)
@@TinyShinyHome i sure did and had to look twice hehehehe
I am you fan. Excellent video, How much per linear ft except gate?
We’ve got a cost break down coming up soon:)
Cow trough cam ..😂😂pip pips
LOL i had to watch the part over 3 times where your boy said (you have to touch this one and OUCH)
Haha. We’ve watched that clip so many times. So funny.
Can you do laps in that? 🤣 Yeaaaa👌🏽🎉🥂 fence is done ✅
Ha. No, but we can *almost* lay down. Haha
Tiny Shiny Home I want one! 😊
You both are looking good with your tans and sun bleached hair sitting in the trough! Does it get as hot there as the Phoenix area? Do you get the summer monsoons and haboobs?
Not anywhere as hot as Phoenix. This year has been unseasonably hot. We are supposed to get monsoons, not but this year we haven’t seen much rain.
Yeah might as well do a paddock while in the fence mode.
Yep!
LOL RIP JETT!!
It wasn’t too hot:) ha
Can you share what the materials cost for 11 acres? . Thx.
We're working on a full, detailed cost breakdown for a separate post & video :)
Gate is not electrified? So a smart bunny rabbit (or fox or coyote) will just jump through the openings in the gate?
Electrifying gates wasn't a priority. It's complicated and expensive.
