I now understand how this song fits thanks to many young people who’ve allowed God to step into this song and their life experiences. Lauren sacrifices so much of her private life for God and for us. Sometimes it takes its toll on her and I see now how this song fits in with other songs like St. Ferdinand and 21 days that express that struggle. There it is the Golden Nugget in all her music just took me some time and wonderful Children of God to help me find it. Happy birthday Lauren.

I couldn’t see the purpose for this song on the album. Where is God here? He is not. Therefore an almost perfect relationship does work because even the best relationships need God’s grace. God’s love is about commitment. Listen to all 19 songs on this album and you’ll hear it. Could this be here to show us the difference between human love and Human love with God’s grace added or better said God’s love?
We would need to ask the songwriter how this song flows into the entire project.
I think the song is great as it stands, and every good relationship has the added blessing of being God driven, God inspired.
I will give it another listen and try to find what made you question it's place in all this beautiful music she has produced.

Thank you for sharing your insight on this song. As Lauren often says the beauty of song writing is when the listener interacts with the song and God steps in and something miraculous happens. I think that has happened to you here and not for me. I believe you have been given the golden nugget I always see in Lauren’s music. So much of this album seems to be influenced by her struggles during COVID. I see in several of these songs struggling with the life as a mother and wife don’t seem to be materializing and for sacrificing that to allow millions of people to hear God’s word I often thank her for. I now see the beauty of this song which like St. Ferdinand needed some help from another of God’s children- you- to give me the best understanding. Thank you
@@richardmarinelli6014 now she is produced by a secular label. Many of the songs do not specifically say Jesus or God and therefore can be interpreted as secular by a secular audience. That said, she does have many worship songs on the album.
IMHO, if you buy a worship album, that’s what you should get. It is weird to listen and then what seems to be a secular song comes on. I initially removed this song from my playlist. But I like the interpretation that she is talking to Jesus and how it sometimes suits us to be distant from Him so we can do what we want. I put it back on.
I hope this amazing singer listens to Tobymac’s song, “Lose My Soul.” A few Christian artists have been sucked into the fame and fortune of secular music. Let it not be so. Her songs have really spoken to me over the years and helped me through struggles. I hope they will continue to do so. She is so gifted!

How did all her songs get dubbed as worship songs? Didn't she write a few of these after a break up? Could've sworn she said as much when she first came out with "You Say"
