- I recently took a break from the work and went to Ranikhet for a short vacation. I feel, there is nothing called as ‘break’ in a RUclipsr’s life. For an example, I was still shooting this vlog when I thought I was on a vacation and have taken a break from work. So, this vlog is more of a relaxing tone and not full of information regarding the destination. However, I have provided information about all the places I visited and stayed at. Here is a little bit about Ranikhet - a beautiful hill station in Uttrakhand, India.
Located at an elevation of 1829m above the sea level, Ranikhet also known as Queen’s Meadow is a place is a hill station in the Almora district of Uttrakhand, which you must visit when you are in a mood to just relax and spend time in a peaceful surrounding. This small hill station that was built up by British is surrounded with nature’s enviable beauty. How this place got its name has a tiny story related to it. It is said that a lovely Indian Queen visited this hilly area surrounded by Himalayas and got mesmerised with the natural beauty surrounding it. And hence the name Queen’s Meadow or Ranikhet came into existence. Every year, a number of tourists visit Ranikhet. Although, this hill station attracts tourists from all over India throughout the year, the best time to visit Ranikhet is summer if you love adventure, winter if you love snowfall, and Monsoon if you are a die-hard rain lover like me :)
I visited Ranikhet during the Monsoon time. Although, I travelled throughout the city, I chose to stay in Majkhali - a place 100 Kms away from Jim Corbett and just half an hour drive from Ranikhet. I loved my stay at Roseville Cottage. Indeed, it was a relaxing trip. The two caretakers at the cottage took very good care of me. The service, neatness, food, weather, everything was just perfect. I also tried Organic Uttrakhandi food at a restaurant called ‘The Pahadi’ restaurant on the way to Ranikhet.

My mom is from Ranikhet, my dad is from Bhatrojkhan. Both in Uttrakhand. I was born and brought up in Delhi but my roots are way back there. I have been many times to my dad's village but never been to Ranikhet (Mom's village). I wish to go there soon.

While covering beautiful places, pl do mention route & time taken to reach there from originating point to enable viewers to scheduled their itinerary. Additional information regarding mode of conveyance, tour operators, where to stay along with contact nos will be icing on cake.

I don't know whether u have visited dunagiri or not but u should try that place also everytime when I go to my hometown I just do visit dunagiri it is just heaven. As u said u like to sit quite in the peace of hills I would mention you two spots for that jageshwar dham and dunagiri.. Well pandavkholi trek is also awesome little bit difficult but when u reach the altitude u will love it..
