You can call us Taste Buds or the Two Guys behind the counter, it doesn't matter to us. We are two guys from Missouri doing a Craft Beer Review and a Whiskey Review (or Whisky Review depending where you are from) with a drive to always Try Something New. We won't drive you crazy with snobby tasting notes that no one else will understand, just a general idea of what the beer or food tastes like. We want YOU to join us in trying exciting new things to open our minds, and pallets, to something different. So join Chris Horn and Lyal Strickland as we foray into some suds and grains and stumble all over ourselves trying to sound smarter than they really are. Some of the things we love to try are Scotch, Bourbon, Rum, Tequila, wine, and craft beer of all kinds. We argue between Stouts and Porters, IPA and Sour, Farmhouse and Lager. I'm sure there isn't anything we won't disagree about except that we like to try new stuff.
If you have a favorite brewery or Distillery or anything else, be sure to send us a message so we can try it at Thosetastebudguys@gmail.com
I've had 6 of these bottles, it's fantastic stuff!! BUT, I've found you really need to "set a stop watch on this tequila." I'm not joking. The flavor and experience dramatically changes very quickly! So pour it into the glass and let it sit for 7-11 minutes to open up before tasting it. The peak experience is 7 to 15 minutes after you pour it into a glass. After 30-40 minutes in the glass the taste is entirely different, not nearly as good. It's really great stuff, but you have to drink it on that window of time.
You know what is really interesting, we was not loving it at first, but as the bottle sat and we kept nipping at it over time, we became more infatuated with the product. That's good stuff to know, may need to try it. ~cheers
Found one on clearance today at a Kroger for $80.
Nice!!! We went back to this bottle and liked it better over time, but still not quite worth the $300+ it was when we picked it up
Holy fudge I wish I can find one that cheap! Picked another one up today.
I love this bottle. I feel its worth its price!! But not the 300... gotta be on sale 🎉
Great review guys, keep up the hard work!
Any opinion on Dos Artes EA?
Exactly how I feel with tears. It’s good stuff but it’s overpriced for what it is. You do get the extra 250ml because it’s a whole liter bottle. But even then it feels pricey.
Yup. I think our expectations was too high as well. It came recommended from so many different people that we thought it was going to very unique. But that was just the extra anejo. So I would try the rest. Usually reposado is our fave, so I would be interested.
Spot on guys😊
Thank you sir. We are bound to get one right occasionally. ~cheers
two LLs = Y. So pronounce it "Ya-Rona".
Yo-rona*
Tell the maker it needs to be "La Llorona"
Without "La" it's just stupid.
Llorana is a womans name so adding La wouldnt make sense. Its an old mexican monster/folktale of a woman named Llorana who drowned her kids to please her husband.
