Deforestation in Brazil's Amazons increased 30% since Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro came to power. More than 120,000 square kilometers of the Amazon forest have been destroyed: an area about a fifth the size of Wales in the last 10 years. That’s the size of 8.4 million football fields. It’s displaced around 400 indigenous groups but has also decimated a vast store of carbon that is vital for tackling climate change. The jungles produce 20% of the world’s oxygen. We go on an investigative journey to reveal the gold rush pushing communities over the edge. Along the way, we meet the Mundurukku aboriginal tribes and activists fighting to stop the destruction of Amazon jungles. We also meet activists seeking solutions for a sustainable lifestyle.

It sends food to almost the whole world, with only a few percentage of its territory for agriculture, imagine with all the riches that this country has in national productions, Brazil can build colossal warships from heavy weapons with the technology of production of these. but on the other hand they can feed the whole world if there is no food or they can isolate themselves from the whole world and live alone so there is no point in sanctioning Brazil. and if they invade using military force, Brazil can double its military power as many times as it wants with as much resources as it has, and they also have the core technology

@@pietrojenkins6901 This is not true, Brazil have the most rigid Florestal Code, the president alone can't change it, but a while ago, for a company establishes in a florestal areal, the licences to it could take 10 years or more if the interested doesn't pay the corruption money, with that those companies start to work illegally extracting wood or mineral in discordance with the law... Now the Bolsonaro government make this process clear and faster, without any middle man to ask money in return. Now they have more control on which company is doing what over there... obvious still have illegal companies/individuals as the terrain to be covered is bigger then most countries in the world.
But the big question is: Your country is planting back the forest they took a long time ago or are they just complaining about the ones who preserve until now?

You should understand that over 30% of Brazil are national conservation areas and of the remaining 70%, which could in theory be used as farmland, Brazil has a conservation policy called "legal reserves" of natural vegetation, which says that if your farm is within the Amazon biome you should preserve 80% of the land as natural forest (you still pay taxes over the whole area though, wink wink) and if your land is on other biomes you should set apart 20% as natural forests (or whatever the natural biome is). That on top of a mandatory conservation strip of between 20m and 50m meters away from rivers, up to 100m from water springs and all areas on a slope above 45% as well as hilltops are also mandatory conservation areas.
If that wasn't enough, Brazil produces a similar amount of electricity as France, but while France has 17% renewables, Brazil has over 80% renewables on its energy matrix.
And it that wasn't enough, in Brazil most cars are hybrid and can work with both gasoline and ethanol (zero net emissions), but even if you're using gas, Brazil dilutes the gasoline with 25% ethanol, so there you have it.

The Legal Amazon has an area of 5,015,067.86 km², corresponding to about 58.93% of the Brazilian territory. Even if it burned the entire territory of Denmark (42,951 km²) in trees in the Amazon it would be a drop in the ocean. They don't know what they're talking about! Anyone who wants to defend the Amazon has to come to Brazil and see the people up close!
Bolsonaro was elected president by the Brazilian people, through democratic means. Therefore, this nonsense statement of "how Brazil is fighting Bolsonaro's policy" does not fit. In reality, those who fight against him are those who want his chair. And, in the external scenario, those who have personal interests in Brazil that are not being served by Bolsonaro. Nothing more than that. So, get out! And by the way, Brazil is an example of environmental preservation.
