Am I the only one that doesn’t get why they get angry at guy for what his father did? That he probably didn’t even know about??? Like why blame him if he didn’t do a thing! Neither did he probably know!
I think it has a lot to do with that culture. In shame-based cultures, right or wrong is not the issue; rather, acquiring honor or dishonor is the issue. Self-expression and fulfillment are less important than GROUP success or honor. It's the GROUP, not the individual, that matters, so when an individual within the group, (say a family), does something perceived as dishonorable, (such as causing the death of a boxing opponent), the whole group takes on that dishonor (the children of the dishonorable dad). In the US, we'd not perceive the children of a criminal as if they too were criminals, not blame the children for the dad's action. We do see that the dad has an influence on the kids, but kids can either choose to be like the dad or not. They will ultimately stand and fall on their own merits, not as profoundly based on the dad's choices/behaviors.
@@fernwehmika3882 I watched it long ago but I remember the boy's father killed her uncle in a boxing match and they had already broken up because of that but then he was hurt in a fight which led him to this state. He got better then she still couldn't accept or forgive is father and distanced herself for awhile
