Another great video, Dave and man I love that scenery up there in Montana. You couldn’t ask for no better place to shoot videos of trains but anyway, my friend you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one.
Awesome video Dave had a couple executive's in the mix not a real common sight anymore and catching 2 very nice. Thanks again for the great video and keep up the good work.
Thank you Tucker! Yea, that was lucky catching two of the executives within an hour of each other. They are some of my favorites! It's my pleasure Tucker, and thanks for watching my friend!
Great video Dave! I noticed a different paint scheme on a couple of engines, wonder what the reason is? Thanks for the video my friend, stay well roll on
Thank you Mark! On the first train, the second locomotive belongs to the Canadian National Railway. The fourth locomotive is BNSF's first paint scheme they adopted after the BN/Santa Fe Merger, there are 4 different paint schemes since the merger. Then the Oil train in the siding, the second locomotive is what's called the "executive" paint scheme. It was first painted , in 1990, on BN's F-9 units used to pull their business train. BN decided to paint their new order for SD70MAC's in the new "executive" colors, which the two in the video are part of. Thanks for watching my friend!
Thanks for another great post. I’m always surprised when an tank car is tagged as security around crude oil terminals and refineries is extremely tight. I used to pickup and bring crews to terminals in Western North Dakota when I was driving for PTI. The terminals are covered with security cameras and gated with very limited access. In fact I could not exit the van while on oil company property. (Would always go potty at nearby truck stop before entering facility.)
Thank you Bill! One of the reasons I like oil trains is they don't have any graffiti on them, for the most part, but unfortunately that seems to be changing. I HATE graffiti! I would guess that the tank cars are getting tagged when the railroad ties down an oil train on a siding and leaves it there for ten hours or so, which amazes me that they leave an oil train parked unattended! Thanks for watching my friend!
@@PacificNWRailfan Additional comment: Railroads are not supposed to leave “key” trains (trains with hazmat) in unsecured locations for obvious reasons.
@@PacificNWRailfan I can see your point of view on graffiti living in such a beautiful area! I live in the suburbs , not much open space, I'll call it suburban jungle, so graffiti, although there isn't much here, doesn't bother me. Seeing it on the trains doesn't phase me cause I've seen worse. I like the graffiti on the auto racks cause it kinda breaks up the monotony of the cars. Some of the graffiti is pretty good. They put allot of work in it. 2 different perspectives but I do understand yours!
Thank you James! You should hear it when it's really cold, sometimes you can hear the train coming when it's still 10 miles out! Thanks for watching my friend!
The track speed for freight, at this location, is 55 mph with the exception of oil trains which are restricted toa top speed of 45 mph. Thanks for watching my friend!
Thank you Charles, I really appreciate that! With the exception of the two trains on the corner, I was sitting on the ground so I could prop my elbows on my knees to steady the camera as I didn't have my tripod with me😊! Thanks for watching my friend!
Really great opening scene with the engines rounding the curve! Nice work.
