Claire Maxted (the surprisingly mild-mannered "Wild Ginger Running") has set up a 19km a week challenge on Facebook facebook.com/groups/Covid19kChallenge/ I miss seeing you guys! Especially Anna, who seems to follow me to running events 😂
My friends and I have been "running together apart" by phone. We use the conference call feature and we chat while we run in 4 different communities. Then we share our times/routes/selfies to our group page. Stay healthy all, and thanks for the uplifting and motivating videos!
One of my Running Clubs called "Schooner Runners" has gone virtual. Instead of running from a pub and back in a five 5k loop, we're posting a picture of our strava solo 5ks and a picture of our post run beer. afterwards. 😂😂🍻🍻
I've actually just unfollowed my running club on facebook because I was sick of some people bitching about other people leaving the house or having to go to work. Sad, we should support each other through this difficult time really.
Me: I'll go running after breakfast as running is good for my mental health. Also me: I'll eat three little chocolate cakes - it's a pandemic, for goodness' sake
Excellent stuff. Thanks. At present I run alone and don't do social media so I have to set my own goals as well as my running plan. Luckily in the UK we are allowed to go out and run even though some people walking in the local park don't think that I should be. They can walk but I shouldn't run?!? I'm looking forward to Saturday morning and I might even investigate the November Club. Keep on keeping on please guys. Much appreciated.
Well, I started not completely seriously with C25K in January. In mid-February I became concerned enough about the poor hygiene standards at my gym to abandon sessions there and concentrate on the C25K. In early April I cracked C25K and also did 26.2k in a week for the 2.6 Challenge. Today I cracked 10k. I am very pleased with my progress and have my targets to keep me motivated. Ever run a Quarter Marathon? That's the next target along with a sub 30 5K (just over a minute to find) and then a sub 60 10K (just under five minutes shy) before a half marathon at the end of October. If all that goes to plan I'll be amazed!!! Thanks folks for keeping me motivated and amused. P.S. Any of The Running Channel team up for being a guide runner for a registered severely sight impaired / blind runner?
I’m a very social person but my runs I do alone! During my runs is when I reflect about things, make plans, think through what’s going on and basically sort the world’s problem😂😂😂
In Canada we can still go out and keep our social distance so I can still run on our old logging road with a buddy. I hope of course this is as “bad” as it gets. Big hugs to you all in the UK (from a distance of course) for health & happiness!
We’re Still allowed to run outside here in Wyoming, and I figured out how to increase your pace ....just pretend you’re the last person with any toilet paper 😂🧻 But on a serious note I hope everyone is staying safe 😷 and healthy ❤️
This feels hits ♥️ genuinely lost my self mentally during lockdowns and working during retail plus being part of a football club where COVID testing, temperature checks and form filling was the norm
I've been trying to find new routes from home, or do my usual routes but in reverse. Thankfully I live out in the country and can make use of the trails and footpaths. My running club has stayed together via online messaging and we will get back together once this is all over.
Omgodess Kate I felt like I was running with you...Thanks for the pick me up guys. I bought my running partner 🐶 a bone today, because I’m an essential service so been working nights and not getting a run in with him. Hopefully next week 👟👟🐶🐕
The group I run with has a route art compition. One entry included running in a circle round a now empty car park so their bunny can have a proper tail! 🐇
Nice one guys! Helps to keep us all motivated. I've been running mostly on local golf course with my dog as big open space and social distancing not so difficult in big open space. Stay safe all and love your videos🏃♀️🏃🏼♂️👍😊
Thanks for the great tips. I only started running about 18 months ago and started with Park Run. I’ve done about 30 so far. I mainly run on my own, about 5K and today was 100th run. I’m going to check out the plan B virtual race!
I've run everyday since the rules of today outside, as we can be out. Including 3 half Marathon distances in 10 days. Lots of yoga, HIIT, RUclips, Netflix and Amazon prime shows.
Hello, I am a bit of a trail runner and enjoy making up new running routes using the Footpath app. I have designed my front door start and finish loop returns 5km and 10km. I am just designing a new 5 km away from roads. I am starting to share this on Strava. I wish to design my own 10k route to work across trails. Will need to train to do two 10 Km in a day though and how do I get outfit/make up/diary there? Anyway, always enjoy the running channel videos, please keep them coming!
You could do the virtual races on Find a Race where you can enter half marathons or 10km and still get a medal or you can enter for total distance over the month (eg200km a month)
Good morning, I live in Massachusetts my Brother lives in Denver. Next Saturday we will each be running a 5k together at the same hour, easier for me than him, it is very cold and snowing in Denver area, here it is in the 50's and sunny. Our original goal was to run the 5k in Boston before the marathon so we are going to keep our commitment to each other. The rescheduled 5k in Boston in the Fall we will be together and do one then!
I live approx 40 miles from the city... I occasionally see a cyclist and or a runner when I’m out running.... mostly just cars whizzing by... 99% of my runs are solo...
BTW there's been a certain amount of criticism of runners for not properly socially distancing - I don't know if you have addressed that in a video, but it might be something you could cover

I've seen ideas of doing one chosen segment on Strava for one week and everyone in a running group can 'compete' against others while on solo runs. But it require the group to be quite local...
I've discovered exercise videos to stay active between run days. I've also been unplugging from my earphones on my runs and enjoying the sounds of nature . I also rooted out a skipping rope from the shed 😊
MsJoxer around the beginning of the year I decided to try running at least once a week without headphones. It felt a bit naked at first but I realise it was a good discipline. Now I run at least for 5km without headphones, this week my headphones died 2km into a 10k run. I got my best pace to date 😊 I find so long as I don’t stress about it, it can be enjoyable.
It is nice that you are including this running video about running together in this difficult time. However before Covid 19, As newbie Runner I found some runners or my local running group elitist and plainly not welcoming. This may change my mind.
