This is definitely one of my favorite houses I've seen from the Local Project, it's simply breathtaking. When I thought houses in this channel couldn't get any better this beauty comes and reminds me again this people don't miss.
The filmography is always astonishing but this time, especially in the intro, it's got to be one of my favourite on this channel! The houses combination of dark natural materials with all the nature outside is splendid, too.
I like the way it looks. I'd never live there though. Where I live it wouldnt even be legal to build a house like this anymore. They want at least 10 meters around the house as a fire break.
Rarely does such a substantial, serious house fit this well on such a site. The tendency is always to overdo just because you can, rather than to remain discreet. A truly serene home.
Australian homes really are next level! This home really tells a story. It connects the outside from its interiors. The black interiors, the kitchen & the open bedroom facing the nature was the highlight of this home for me. Love this home! Thanks Local Project 😎
First came across Frank’s designs through his Daughter’s tiny home. The ‘darkness’ of his designs strikes such a cord, exhibiting a stunning, sophisticated, cosy, cocoon-like aesthetic that stands alone. If I ever get a chance to design a home from scratch, Frank will be the designer I call on. 🖤
a lot of people generally didn't like the dark tone material, but how grateful I am watching this gorgeous design that exactly has the same intention as me while talking about the dark tone material. I think dark-tone material (or to be exact in this case dark color palette) has a lot of positive aspects for users over a long period of time, not just about how easy and low maintenance it is, dark tone color palette also gives the enclosure vibes that can increase the comfort value of user being inside the room psychologically. In the presentation aspect, dark tone materiality also successfully brings masculinity, maturity, solidity, and elegance to the building indoors and outdoors. love it!😍😍
Almost to 1 million subscribers! You guys very well deserve every single one. Really loving all of your work. Beautiful house, especially the bedroom opening to the garden. That dark wood floor is gorgeous.
Absolutely magical site, enhanced, gently with a magically designed home and gardens. Oh what I would give for those pandanas trees. One of the most beautiful sites I have seen, so private and so connected to the nature that surrounds it. Very lucky family who get to enjoy this masterpiece of a home
Possibly the best location that's been showcased on this channel so far. Shame it looks like an incredibly nice toilet block. Did this bloke help design mooloolaba's loo with a view?
I always give them a pass because maybe homeowners don't want certain rooms of the interior shown, which I get from a privacy standpoint. But yes, I would've loved to see more, too.
Yes! But I have learned that you shouldn't expect a lot from architecture channels if you enjoy house tours because they are all about esthetics and nothing else. These are like artsy highlight reels of the best features and materials instead of presenting the full house. lol like.. a lot of time is spent on showcasing rustling leaves, dew on grass, and trickling water rather than giving the audience a good understanding of the layout of the home. And there's always a hallway that you're not quite sure what it facilitates, and the rooms are never accounted for. They say it's a 5 bedroom?.. but you only seen 1 or 2😭🤣. The houses look so beautiful in the thumbnails, though.. which makes it almost impossible not to click but it's ALWAYS a let down. I wish the owners, builders, architects, whomever.. of these homes would allow traditional "house tour" channels to showcase their homes also.
I liked a lot of elements of this home but, overall, it came off as too dark. I love dark timber but when it is combined with dark concrete and there are no other elements to contrast with it, it just looks like a cave. And, no interiors were really shown here - it's all exteriors.
They mentioned the screens and how they can add or subtract the light but I really would have liked a lighter color palette to begin with. Maybe some lighter wood, or natural concrete instead of dark stained concrete. I'd have to leave every light on in the house 24/7. Don't get me wrong, I love dramatic moody colors and blacks and greys, but need a little more lightness inside. As with all home design...to each their own.
Are you one of the tourists he spoke of 😂? I thought that sounded snobbish, I live in Alexandra Headland, plenty of tourists there too.. the east coast of Australia is full of them, that’s because most live on the water’s edge of an 🏝 island.. where we began to settle from 1788..
Another Incredible Piece, Probably My Favorite One Yet And The North American Series Just Confirmed My Bias (lol), I prefer Aussie and Kiwi Home Architecture So Much More
Holy sh*t. Hands down best house on the channel. Those two wankers from Melbourne could take a leaf out of this guys book. If I won Powerball I’d be knocking on this architect’s door.
I actually like the house, though the color palette is too dark for me. I have a videography criticism, though. This video and the last two or three have all had a very greyed out, dreary LUT on them, such that each time I first start to watch the video I think that the brightness on my screen has changed. And that's on an LCD screen, which have a habit of being over bright. It gives the videos an almost depressing feeling. It's only been the last few. Your production team needs to look at this. Other than that, the production quality of The Local Project's videos exceed that of a lot of architecture channels.
Where are the surf boards or a beautiful timber boat sitting on the lawn as a herb garden, now that would of completed this magnificent house by the water.
Beautiful house but please, please can you get rid of these dull boring people who ramble on about their work, and show us more of these magic houses without having to waste time listerning to and looking at these dull people.
Looks like the gate to the pool is ajar and open at 2:28. Isn't that a breach of pool laws in NSW? Gates should close automatically so small children can't wander in and drown.
I mean, these homes are obviously stunning but the over use of this dark moody filter takes away from the ability to see the home. Please reconsider toning it down and making it as closely natural as you possibly can.
The monochromatic color palette is a visual black hole. Joyless, boring and lazy. "Interplay of light" is literally ignored through most of the spaces. When viewed at even short distances the monotony extinguishes all interest that materials and textures might bring and provides all the intrigue of staring deeply into a school room chalk board. A shocking contrast to an otherwise beautiful property.
A rather pretentious use of the term 'wabi sabi'. This place must have cost a fortune. I find it hard to relate to this form of millionaire architecture. It's not hard to build an impressive house in a gorgeous location with a massive budget.
I can't believe what a cliche this style has become. Ugly Black or white flat topped boxes in extremely wild places... With giant walls of slide away glass. No screens? Are there no bugs or lizards or birds that would come in? Isn't grit going to fall in the channels eventually? The kitchen looks like something out of a industrial catering service. In a warm climate, it just looks cold blooded and macho.

it is magnificent. congratulations!
Honestly, Australian architecture is on another level.
This isn't Australian architecture. It is just made by the australians.
@@notyourfriend-li7rq and presented by the australian, which as a non-native speaker I can only follow with subtitles on
Most australian architecture is trash tbh
Brutalism is everywehre, this is a rarity and is situated in Noosa which has an average house price of 2mil+

The color palette is a little too dark for my taste, but I absolutely love how the home appears to simply dissolve into the beautiful landscape!
I like the way it looks. I'd never live there though. Where I live it wouldnt even be legal to build a house like this anymore. They want at least 10 meters around the house as a fire break.
@@pin65371 That makes sense. These types of homes are a rarity - which I guess makes them even more beautiful to see.
the light play through the rotating timber screens is magnificent, love that

Absolutely breathtaking! Thank you for sharing this home
Love Frank's work. Think he did one of my favourite houses in Blairgowrie Ct in Brighton. Amazing designs.
I have to say it, this might be the most beautiful home I've ever seen

Breathtaking house
Simply stunning. I am in awe.
The nature and the shelter in beautiful harmony, as it supposed to be.
Es hermosa, cinematográfica. Misteriosa y serena.
Gorgeous.
Dream place, dream house.
WOW beautiful home love love
Possibly the best location that's been showcased on this channel so far. Shame it looks like an incredibly nice toilet block. Did this bloke help design mooloolaba's loo with a view?
So so pure and wild ….. really love it
Esto es jugar en primera liga, sensacional, en serio!!!
love how the design enable owner to adjust their dark and light throughout smart opening :D
Genuinley some of the best real estate in aus. What a spot.
Beautiful design and I love it when he mentioned the inspiration came from Geoffrey Bawa’s design in Sri Lanka😍.
Great work MACCHIA Design Studio 👌
left my heart on this project. imagine it in Encinitas, Del Mar or simply in Malibu area
Gorgeous architecture and interior design. Bravo!
is it just me that feel this content not able to showcase enough the beautiful house interior truly 🤔😂
I always give them a pass because maybe homeowners don't want certain rooms of the interior shown, which I get from a privacy standpoint. But yes, I would've loved to see more, too.
That would be the subject for an interior design show.
@@tonileenemanick727 True! But I know that if I had my place on one of these shows, I may not want to show my kids' rooms.

I agree! A house tour would’ve been nice!
Finally I found a channel showing the real deal and not just a series of AI pictures one after another with zero real footage .
We're glad you're here!

Stunning !
Dancing between the dark and light house, pro ảchiect.Love and subscribe your channel
Absolutely incredible!
We walk by this house every time we surf at Noosa. It’s pretty spectacular.

Favourite House & Video
Bravo 👏🏼
Ironic that this is the property chosen to be sponsored by The Dulux COLOUR Forecast. LOL! Someone really didn't think that one through.
lovely
I heard the name of Geoffrey Bawa during this tour.Amazing Architecture from 🇱🇰
The property fits well with the landscape. Although, If It was up to me, I'd add a bit of warm tone in the interior.
Holy sh*t. Hands down best house on the channel. Those two wankers from Melbourne could take a leaf out of this guys book. If I won Powerball I’d be knocking on this architect’s door.
just perfect
love it
WOW - I'm moving in.
More of an editorial than a property tour... would have liked to see more of the property.
how do you stop mosquitos entering in the room through that turning movable timber walls ?
This may be a beautiful painting of a home, but I wonder how it would feel to live in this on a day-to-day basis.
Black is beautiful as long as its not overly used. Amazing design though.
lets go for 1M subs!
Beautiful location but the house not so much. The outdoors and amazing landscape are truly inspiring. Too bad the house doesn't match.
nice
Noooice

the house is amazing but what about random creatures that invade your house ?
perfect
Its absolutely stunning and breathtaking but imagine cleaning is during Diwali😭😭😭😭😭
how much?
Hi; I do not live in Aussie land; what kind of tin roof are those? Thanks
Jeffrey Bawa has some of the most recognized architecture in Sri Lanka.
What about more detail of the inside
All great design. However the funerary dark grey colour makes the house dark, sad and neglects the light tropical natural colours.
What kind of trees are those?
Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 I heard it right ❤
On my computer, the video is very dark, regrettably too dark to really see very much of the home.
Where are the surf boards or a beautiful timber boat sitting on the lawn as a herb garden, now that would of completed this magnificent house by the water.
Too dark couldn’t see the house just the concept🤷🏾♀️
Looks nice I guess, but Too dark for me. 🤷♂️
💯
Intro song name?
Unfortunately, this home looks dark. Maybe it’s the video lighting
What about bugs??
Turn the lights on
Property Dark Mode: On.
Why is this video so dark. It undermines the video
Beautiful house but please, please can you get rid of these dull boring people who ramble on about their work, and show us more of these magic houses without having to waste time listerning to and looking at these dull people.
Must be nice to live in a place where you don’t need screens to keep out bugs.
It so dark, even with natural lighting, it look like there is no electricity at all.
Looks like the gate to the pool is ajar and open at 2:28. Isn't that a breach of pool laws in NSW? Gates should close automatically so small children can't wander in and drown.

Not my cup of tea, too dark. Amazing place though
another video that doesn't show the house, may as well just make these podcasts.
It's ridiculous at this point...
He forgot something : « my name is frank Macchia (I am a genius ***) » … excuse me , but this home … on the path to become an historical landmark

This house is like a blackhole is so hard to understand the layout of the space lol
Over $7,000 a night rent
A rather pretentious use of the term 'wabi sabi'. This place must have cost a fortune. I find it hard to relate to this form of millionaire architecture. It's not hard to build an impressive house in a gorgeous location with a massive budget.
gloomy..why?..
...I'm tired of these videos that try to be artistic and don't teach anything about architecture !
I can't believe what a cliche this style has become. Ugly Black or white flat topped boxes in extremely wild places... With giant walls of slide away glass. No screens? Way too modern. This house won't age well at all.
bro, wabisabi is not "becomes more beautiful when it ages"... You just defined a patina... Wabisabi is "beauty in imperfection".
I feel too poor to watch this..
