To celebrate Chökhor Duchen, Khyentse Vision Project is delighted to present new musical offerings as part of our Verse to Music initiative-a creative initiative to produce musical and artistic versions of translated prayers, poems, and songs to be sung or chanted.

This interpretation of The Cuckoo's Song is by Christian Bernert, who composed and performed this wonderful reggae version. Christian is one of Khyentse Vision Project's in-house translators and key advisors, and provides training and mentoring to our translator trainees. He brings a wealth of both Tibetan language training and professional Tibetan translation experience to his role, specializing in texts of the Sakya school. Christian is also a program coordinator at the International Buddhist Academy, and a founding member of the Chödung Karmo Translation Group.
Christian currently lives in Hanoi, Vietnam. In his spare time, he looks after another project close to his heart-the Bodhisvara Project-recordings of classical Buddhist texts chanted in Sanskrit.
