  • I decided to start a build series on the 93 s10. If you guys have been following me you'll know i have been hinting around about this build for quite sometime now. I finally put tags on it and got the project started. There have already been some things changed up on the truck but we are taking it a step further. Be sure and subscribe to follow this new build series.

    A very cool build and a very good looking truck.
    An exceptional power to weight ratio, l like the wheels.
    You have plenty of tyre, l would run 225 on the front and 245 tyres on the back.
    The L77 would be a nice engine to use.

      i had a 94 ranger and did a full interior and was able to use chevy cavalere buckets and the bolted to the ford benchish factory seat mounting brackets. use mate or flat interior dye on new peices. the armor all or what ever shine you use as protectant on your dash and stuff won't streak. if i were more computer savy I 'd show some pics of the ol'splash was very nice

    I have a 92 and it's been down with a broken timing chain it's a 4.3 regular cab short bed with the 700r4 transmission and I have totaled it twice and rebuilt it both times and it's been down over a year now and when I seen this video it reminded me of how much I miss my truck it's static dropped it's got cut springs on the front I have 2inch drop spindles for it just have not had time to work on it out back it's got two two inch blocks stacked on top of each other and 2nd gen wheels with low profile tires it's low you drag on speed bumps I have a 2wd jeep liberty body dropped and full air ride tucken 24'S that is where my attention been for the last year and I daily the jeep right now so I think it's time for the S10 to come out of retirement I have a LS out of a 06 Chevy truck I think it is going in the S10

    I just bought a 93 S10 myself, Mine has the 305 in it and it's an automatic. It's originally white but the guy I bought it from rattlecanned it black for some reason but i'm going to media blast it back down to bare metal to see what I'm working with and then repaint it white. I found a set of 93 Cavalier bucket seats at a salvage yard for $50 for the set, I'm going to change the color of the interior to camel brown. I'm going to the grille the same white color as the truck. the wheels are the stock steel wheels with the dog dish Hubcaps, I'm just going to pull the hubcaps off and paint the wheels Burnt copper and put beauty rings on them. After I get the engine good and cleaned and rebuilt I'm going to paint the block white with the valve covers and Air Cleaner Burnt copper. I might even do the frame in Burnt copper too. since i have to pull the engine to rebuild it and the bed to paint it and the cab.

    Amazing looking little S10.
    Although one thing wasn't mentioned related to the bucket seats from second generation S10 being installed into the first generation S10.
    The attached seat belts on the actual bucket seats won't fasten to the installed mounted pull strap fastener buckle.
    Available option install the old-style bucket in the floor or make sure to grab the shoulder harness wrap around from the second generation s10 as well.
    I'm not sure if would adapt to the older generation.

    • @codybanks9944
      @codybanks9944 4 года назад +1

      I would suggest that you Change out the ECM before replacing things like the IAC and MAF and so on. I'm in the process of removing my ECM right now. I did replace my IAC and it "SEEMED" to fix the idle issue. But then on restart....went right back to acting up. I would say that 80% of the research I've done has shown that replacing the ECM on these 1st Gen s10's winds up fixing all the issues. So, instead of chasing my tail around, I'm replacing my ECM and see if it is the main issue like with everyone else. My ECM is located UNDER the Dash on Passenger side of truck. It is mounted Vertically with one screw holding it in. It is kinda in line with the A/C Register and right side of Glove box seam on the passenger side. I have found NO VIDEOS for this year s10 or Pics of the ECM location or removal. Not even my 1st Gen Specific Complete tear down manual has anything helpful with the ECM removal on my 1992. I suggest that once you find it you unplug the harness before taking out the Mounting Screw. Good Luck.

    • @canadiantoque229
      @canadiantoque229 3 года назад

      I know this comment is old but good luck finding performance parts for the 4.3 I'm building a 92 ext cab and it only has 163000 original Kms just over 100000 miles never winter driven so i thought i all ready have a strong 4.3 so might as well build it and either turbo it or but something belt driven so i started doing my research there are very little to no head options gm did make a performance head for them back in the day but hard to find so you are limited with how well your heads will flow and very limited on lift and for the same money you get about 100 more hp with a small block chevy or LS motors I am going with a zz4 350 block and bottom end with e210 .650 lift heads full roller I like the old school look and its not going down the track but if you want to turbo or supercharge go with the 5.4 ls way more bang for your buck then the 4.3 i think hot rod mag all so did a video on this subject that is really good vary

      @@canadiantoque229 yeah I figured that out myself so I went out and purchased a small block 327 from a friend of mine only cost me 700 and it’s only got a little over 1000 miles on rebuilt motor so I’m going to put a supercharger on the 327 and not waste time or money on the 4.3 The motor came out of a 64 impala so I had to switch over from carburetor to fuel injection carburetors don’t get along with air ride or hydraulic vehicles they have a tendency to flood but thanks for the info I appreciate it
