Mario Kart is looking as good as it's going to get. Did people all of a sudden expect Mario to look like Kratos or what? It's a certain art style, it's not supposed to be hyper-realistic.
It has way better lighting more polygon count on models Shadow draw distance has been massively increased They improved massively all the "technical" aspects of games that you're average gamer doesn't really notice Which makes sense Nintendo games already have killer AD so improving the technical stuff is the obvious step up
I think mk9 will be soo much bigger with double the amount of racers that instead of chasing visual fidelity they chased bigger and better gameplay I think that will be the way Nintendo handles switch 2 gen as a whole gameplay over graphics Metroid prime and Luigi mansion will be the exception and those will show off incredibly impressive visuals
Peach is wearing her iconic dress while driving a motorbike possibly designed as like a moped based on the step-through bikes for females. Also, the Donkey Kong redesign is based on his arcade design.
Aside from the fact that PS4 to PS5 didn’t have a big jump, it’s expected that this style of graphics at a glance won’t look very different. However, with better animations, higher resolution textures, and just how massive and open this track looks, blows MK8 out of the water. Go look at footage of MK8D, especially the initial new tracks. You will feel downright claustrophobic when you compare those tracks to how wide open this is.
I was expecting it to look as good as team sonic racing. But it doesn’t look much better tbh. Mario kart 8 looked great. But was hoping for an improvement to the lighting engine
@ActualAero Yeah. I like what they did with Mario Wonder. Hopefully, with a new 3D Mario game, they will use the same model and the world would be wacky and cartoony. I didn't like the idea of Mario being in the real world with humans. It feels out of place and doesn't fit with the Mario character. Makes me feel a little triggered. Mario Odyssey is a good game but its not my favorite game.
When it comes to the presentation of the game, any game in general for that matter, I personally couldn't care less about graphics at all as I prefer art styles rather than graphics (people SHOULD understand the difference between graphics and art style/art direction because they're NOT the same thing), and Mario Kart 10's art style looks peak so far and I already prefer it over 8's style (8 still looks peak too btw) because of it having a more N64-esque look to it for the character designs and such, I love how Nintendo is trying to go back to more how Mario looked back in 90s with the 2D artworks and the N64 renders, while still modernizing them and make them be expressive like how Wonder looks, so when it comes to art style, the new game already looks amazing in my opinion.
yes it kind of is, unless you think graphics is only the effects for some reason.. in that case a game on the the nes don´t have any graphics at all. only "art style" graphics is what you see on the screen, not the tech like shadows and such it´s the complet package where art style is one part of it.
@@basseman4239 The difference between graphics and art styles is that with graphics, they really at the end of the day, only just about the resolutions and the texture quality of the assets and level designs themselves whereas an art style/art direction, it's an entirely different story since there's endless ways that you can present a game since there's so much creativity that you can have when it comes to art, character design, style, tone, among other things, graphics are meaningless since what makes a games presentation good is the how the style is that your game goes for. Why else do you think Nintendo's games are so beloved and don't really focus on graphics compared to 75% - 80% of the industry? Because their art styles are great, memorable, iconic, things like that, that's part of the appeal of their games because of how creative they get while presenting them. And even better, most of the time they don't really take forever for their games to come out because graphics are not what they focus on. Hell, just look at Sony's modern games for example. Do all of them from a presentation standpoint look like art styles to you? Because to me they don't because there's no flair to them in any stretch, and them focusing on expansive scopes and graphics too much also causes their games to take forever to make because they barely focus on actual gameplay and other things, and instead just focus on things being too big and graphically intensive.
I will take anime graphics over photorealism any day. Fantasy and reality should be separate from each other. That is also why power should just be for the rendering and content.
Animated and fantasy art styles will always be more unique and hold up more in the long run compared to photo realism which looks outdated a few generations later
There are technical improvements, but none of them make up for the game looking artistically inferior in my opinion. At least this stage or this section of the possible open world, has ugly color choices, boring landscape, muddy ground textures, and IMO is worse looking than any of the of MK8 tracks.
It Doesn’t Look Graphics different at all part of me hopes its because Mario kart 8 is already peach hd and that we see the difference with other switch 2 games otherwise if it doesn’t have better graphics or different enough it risks walking the same path the Wii u did
How are you feeling about the new Mario Kart game on Nintendo Switch 2? 👀
Mario Kart is looking as good as it's going to get. Did people all of a sudden expect Mario to look like Kratos or what? It's a certain art style, it's not supposed to be hyper-realistic.
I agree and the art style is already upgraded from MK8 anyway
I clocked about 200hrs on MK8. I can see the difference right away. Just the polygon alone, shadow and draw distance are more advanced.
It has way better lighting more polygon count on models
Shadow draw distance has been massively increased
They improved massively all the "technical" aspects of games that you're average gamer doesn't really notice

24-Player Baby Park!?!?
Would be chaos lmao
"It looks the same" - somebody who doesn't know what they are talking about
So true
having all the ''duplicates'' from mario kart 8 as skins in 9 would be great!
hope we get to keep the yoshis and shy guys as well :D
Hopefully the online will be stable with 24 players at once
Hope so. Would be a good way to show the capabilities of the Switch 2 online features

Only saw a few seconds of 1 track and not even the whole thing. People are crazy.
Peach is wearing her iconic dress while driving a motorbike possibly designed as like a moped based on the step-through bikes for females. Also, the Donkey Kong redesign is based on his arcade design.
DK’s design is heavily based on the movie, looks nothing like his arcade design
@ Yet, Mario is given his Wonder design.
Digital foundry also said that it doesn’t look like anything that couldn’t run on the original switch
I really hope they don't not include diddy kong for dumb reasons. He's my pall
Hopefully he isn’t locked behind DLC again lol
Some people are afraid of change, but I'm very excited for this new generation of Nintendo.

And we don’t even know when in development that footage was recorded, final version of the game will look amazing
They’ve expanded the world just not the graphics
Well they need to for 24 players lol
I was expecting it to look as good as team sonic racing. But it doesn’t look much better tbh. Mario kart 8 looked great. But was hoping for an improvement to the lighting engine
There was a lighting improvement when you compare and/or watch some graphic analysis
@ maybe a more dynamic track would show it off better
@@christianr.5868 It's an art style
I really like these character models and the way they look. I get nostaljia.
I love how cartoony they are

It looks great! I wonder if this is the Switch 2 turned up to max performance?
I don’t think it’s pushing the Switch 2 to its limits but it should be a good showcase of the hardware

What would this new game look like on a CRT TV?
Sungrand Studios also made a really good video about the graphics etc
I’ll have to check it out
@ActualAero its really intristing and shows how much Power the Switch 2 has
Fun over shiny graphics.
All day but graphics are nice to have
