2019 Perodua Axia Style (Pt.2) - My First Ever, 1.0L Drive Up to Genting! How Good is It?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 12 дек 2019
- Just how will a 1.0 litre NA engine perform up Genting? This is possibly the first time ever that I have tackled this mountain with a small engined car. Will it be able to do it, or will it just refuse to go on?
*Note: Some videos may have been sped up and some footage are superimposed for "dramatic effect" in our channel. Авто/Мото
ppl in other cars prob think...."look at this idiot drive fast on a cheap small car"....
they dont expect a professional rally driver are behind the wheel at all lol
We are just testing to share.
No scirocco to cucuk this Perodua this time 😂
@@YSKhongDriving may I ask, I'm going to buy my first car, which should I buy between proton iriz, perodua myvi or axia? It for long term use. Thanks
Even using Axia, he can drive quite fast ma..sorry very fast
@@wonglk6262 … if budget wasnt an big deal… get the Myvi… u Just cant go wrong with an Myvi… reliable, good FC, decent handling ( depends on individual ), top notch safety ( the AV variant ), practical, cheaper spare parts in long run and last but not least, good after sales service too… even the 1.3G also has AEB and stuff… no other rivals can match it for under rm50k for the Myvi 1.3G with Perodua Smart Drive Assist
Bawak axia, layan corner 😎 ‘’otai masih berbisa’’ respect la uncle Khong💪
If gv uncle a kancil 660 also can fly, true legend
Jun Hao Yee .. you took words from my mouth😂😂😂
The 660cc Turbo Kancil is no joke, especially the 4WD JDM model.
Is not about the car, is about the drive that is behind the wheel 😏
give uncle manual transmission, can really fly
Cannot agree more 👍👍👍
This is the proof that the car we'll use are not our first priority to achieve the max car potential, its all about who's behind the wheels with skill to tame every car he'll drive.
I love how unker is smiling almost throughout the drive. Cheerful, happy while trashing the limits of the car 🤣🤣🤣
Mantap uncle..I have never watched any Genting ride video with Axia..I watched your video on MyVi and I believed the sciroco will be left behind even with this Axia because you have the ball and the skills. Big applause for this video.
This uncl is the best RUclips car review in Malaysia i think.
aku plak yg kecut perut tgk uncle ni bawak...macam aku yg pegang kamera kat seat belakang
I understand the smile on Uncle's face! It's a different kind of enjoyment when u drive a small capacity car to it's limit 😂 The feeling when u flooring it 😍
Hahaha.
This is the combination of good driver and the good car. ... speechless!!
no slow car~ only slow driver :D uncle power
Because of this video, I went to Genting using my Viva... Super fun sampai had to change the front tyres, hahaha. More of this reasonable price car testing, YS
Even uncle is not confident about the limit that the Axia can take, but still nailed it.
Hi Uncle! Finally a review for Axia, I had mine for almost 5 years from now! The steering was better than my home's Alza! It's not powerful but I drove a few times to genting still!
Great! And yes, the steering is quite good, as I mentioned.
Khong should be the host of top gear Malaysia! You are so good
This is the true meaning of 'lenjan' 🤣
Pro driver, Uncle Khong. Salute to you even this is just a test drive. 😎
As YS said when testing Supra, I agreed that testing small car to the limit is more fun than testing the powerful car because u must have guts and balls to go to the limit...
You smiled and chuckled all throughout the vid. This must've been the best drive 😁, Teriyaki Boys - Tokyo Drift playing in my head as I watched this.
Hahaha - we had plenty of time - it takes longer to get through each corner, and from corner to corner. But yes, the car can be fun. Folks, remember this is an entry-level car, and you really don't need to drive it like this - we just did it to see just what it can do - please do not do this on your own.
I having the 1gen axia standard manual, is totally fun to drive slow car fast! Good Job Uncle Khong !👏🏽👏🏽
Yes!
This video changed my mind that the engine is powerful than I expect.
Yup me too
Good job uncle! Clear explaination
Woah! Also goes to Genting H. Salute! 11:23 okay i'll drink water. Legend rally driver on the car
Nice little car with the SUV-look cladding. The colour matches it well too. As usual, under Uncle's command, it behaved well and momentarily turned into a sports car!
Hahaha, it is quite cute and handled okay.
Hi. YS, you have not changed at all zfter all these years since the mid-70',s I notice you have put on some weight & a tint of silver on top. By the way, our path have crossed in the 70's back to the MMSC days of Malaysian motor racing. You are still looking go in the auto scene. Merry Christms, Happy New Year & zll the best for the coming year. Cheers !!!
Hi Harry Wish, nice to hear from you again. Yes the barrel is much bigger and the hair is more silver than charcoal. I don't drive as fast as I used to and I started this channel to share my knowledge so that the standard of driving can be improved.
Ok, hari ini juga saya nak pergi beli Axia Style ni! All because of this review video 😂😂😂
Lagend 'lenjan' Axia Style to the max...Terbaik uncle
Steady la uncle. I hope you sentiasa sihat. Macam2 kete you test drive n your driving skills still amaze me. Love your videos, very neutral and informative...can smile lagi. U tido pun smile jugak ke? :) Take care uncle.
Thank you Shah, I pun harap I sentiasa sihat juga. Thanks for supporting our channel.
Yes ! Finally axia Genting run
Love watching your genting road trip uncle Khong. Wonder if you can give tips which corner to brake early, accelerate and so on... like tips
I hear you. Sometimes when I remember, I do talk about it in some of the videos. Will try to infuse more of these tips in my videos. Good suggestion! Thanks for these comments.
That’s the car to buy in near future 👌🏻
For maximum power, nothing beats the manual version. I'm driving the E spec. have driven up Genting (beyond Gohtong Jaya) with stock 14" tyres on a wet rainy day, and managed to get the car went sliding abit oversteer in the front on 3/4 throttle (abit dangerous but fun, and was in control still)
So yes.. the 15 inch and VSC does help.
And the little 1L VVTI engine has good powerband.
Yes, the manual would be more fun.
legend oh. uncle using axia and hon at other big car as u go by. '7:19'
Haha, to let him know this little car is there.
@@YSKhongDriving hahaa i might get offended if a small car does that to me.
Wow uncle, you floored the car all the way up and down. That's some thirsty work. :)
Hahaha, made a hole in the floorboard.
I really enjoy this video... Thanks uncle
You are most welcome.
Power la your driving skills, Uncle :D
Pehhhh mmg mantap la...rileks je bwa corner...
uncle..u drive so fasttt..exply at corner....perghh layannn..gayat ak tgk
uncle YS enjoying overtaking faster cars with a slow car 🤣🤣🤣 i feel you too uncle coz i have one axia at home too 😂😂😂
Akhirnya Axia baru varians Stlye naik genting hahaha hebat la uncle kabus tebal pun masih boleh nampak lagi jalan dan bawak laju 😂
Good day YS if this vid is used in Produa Axia commercial i have no doubt sales would double. Exhilarating drive👍
Hi Gerard, you must be my number 1 fan! Always something nice to say. Thank you very much for your support!

Uncle great humour, stay safe stay strong
Love your facts & points about the car, and how u lenjan the car uncle YS! Haha
Thanks Kian Min.
Padu sangat laa uncle!
I like driving a slow car fast. I am also impressed that Perodua has a stripped down version at about 24k OTR but still comes with 2 airbags. Great safety alternative to a motorcycle for a family. And the equipment level makes me nostalgic about entry level cars in the 70’s in my native Denmark. A base radio was a luxury option. The Perodua even has electric windows, I guess they simply no longer have the erstwhile cheaper manual roll down parts in stock!!
Good comments, and interesting too. I also like driving a slow car fast, but could do with a bit more; it would be safer because overtaking can be done a lot faster. You basically need only the front 2 airbags, a good set of brakes, and good tyres. Everything else is secondary, including the electric windows. I do think the wind up glass may not have any cost savings anymore.
The left to right overtaking at 10min is so YS Khong like. Legend la!
Well, I did wait.... Didn't want to keep you guys waiting..
@@YSKhongDriving 👍❤
Uncle... U r the best la.. u told me that i made the rite decision.. cant wait to get "my drift car" 😂
The one uncle you dont want to mess with!😂
Such an expert! Kasi tabik spring satu kali!
When climbing genting uncle always the best ...
finally u did this !
I'm using manual transmission Axia 2016 type G for 4 years and 8 months. standard suspension + standard rims but add ultra racing front strut bar and rear anti-rollball. really satisfied driving on hills and mountains of Sarawak.
The only thing i dont like about perodua manual is the engine is too silent i cant know when to engage the clutch 🤣
@@aizatzet eh, seriously.. mine when ramp its so loud.
I drove 1992 civic ferio eg4d single cam. I pretty sure i will lose to Uncle YS in axia style. Waiting for k-swap engine in future. Amin 🙏🏻💓
fluent English & never get bored watching your RUclips.
Thank you for doing this axia test run,the car is for normal people,i subscribe to ys khong cause i wanna see exciting cars handling and drive
Hahaha, not sure what you are saying, but okay. We will be testing all types of cars, not just the expensive ones; this one was ok in the handling department.
Terbaik bos...U pandu memang hebat
uncle lenjan with aircond still running ... mantap la uncle
First! Love you Uncle!
"We are not breaking the sound barrier..."🤣🤣 the honk is cute tho anyway I miss u driving manual sir😎👌 love the vid! I drive a small car too😂
Yes, small cars can be fun too. My first car had only 50 horsepower, top speed was 100 kmh, and I still drove it to the max. It was a Ford Anglia, exactly the same as in the Harry Potter movie, except that mine could not fly.
@@YSKhongDriving ahahah I got a Kelisa sir🙏😎👌
I still keeping my Viva Elite stock standard. Modifying it will be less fun, hahaha. I used Kumho PS31 for the extra grip. . The car is like a rat...

Uncle Genting road kaki! 💪
Wah uncle 👍I couldn't drive like this despite driving many time with my axia
Need some skills training for that.
Nice one👍🏻
if theres any racing at genting's road, uncle khong will be a champ all the time 😂
hopefully uncle khong can review the renault koleos to trying climb up the genting hill, seen that is such a good car or not.
axia need overhaul after this genting run ?
As a car enthusiast, u r not 'racist:at all. U love them all almost equally. Two words to describe u.... professional and sincere. Salute :-)
Hi Joe - a long time ago, I realized that there is no such thing as a bad car. A lot of people put a lot of effort to come out with each and every car. Sometimes you get cars that are influenced by one or more strong personalities, and these turn out either very brilliant or become not so popular. I used to think the Berlingo was ugly, but tradesmen in France love it. Same with the Kangoo, but two of my friends have it and love it.
It is usually a question of whether your needs are satisfied by the car you are buying.
In the case of the Axia, I suspect the main motivator would be the price and value packaging.
Who wouldn't want a car that can do zero to hundred in 5 seconds? Reality comes in when it comes down to the size of one's pocket.
That is why I respect all cars, and evaluate them fairly.
Anyway, thank you for being on our channel, and I have seen your comments on a regular basis.
i wonder if i can be a profesional driver like ys 😍😍..i feel very lucky if i can learn drive with ys 😁😁
i saw your body twist right and left while do the cornering. u can see it he struggle to get things right. he is expert driver.
Wrong sitting position.
Wow~nice drive uncle, actually Axia is a nice car for driving to the hill (especially downhill), not very nice but like acceptable, because it's a small car, lightweight, and really easy to handle, I drive my colleague Axia to Genting Hill for sometimes, just when I wanna climb up, and the engine will start crying
Yes, it's not the best car for daily drives up Genting.
Uncle, please can put a speedometer view for us ah? 🙏🏻 Really curious about the rpms.
Uncle!! You have proven to viewers axia also doing good climbing. Come on viewers! It's not supposed doing sports car thing right.
The trick is to maximise the car using the gears and engine: making them work together.
hi uncle Khong, I've been wondering, should you turn off the traction control? also in what event to turn off the traction control?
If you have it leave it on. In very muddy areas you need to turn it off. For example, if you go into soft mud, and the wheels start spinning, TC will retard your ending power and since the wheel cannot stop spinning in the mud the engine will keep on retarding until it stops. When you accelerate, it won't move because the system does not want the wheel to spin. Then you are stuck. Turning off TC will allow wheelspin, and that might get you out of trouble.
It’s not the car that makes the man but the man who makes it in a car :)
It is always a combination. Thanks though, for your kind words.
Looking forward to bezza genting climb... 😀😀😀
imagine the looks of the driver of bigger cars seeing themselves being overtaken by an axia 😂
Uncle, could you have a review on the latest Kia Picanto either Ex or Gt version? Thanks! Hope to see it in future🤗
Coming. Stay tuned. Done already, waiting for editor. My poor editor working very hard, so please bear with us. Driving is the easy part. Half hour drive, 10 hour editing.
@@YSKhongDriving yea editing is tedious. especially vector animations
tq yeay kia picanto
U drive axia like cayman...padu uncle...heeeeheeeeee
gila ahh uncle ni drive,,,,,prooo
Uncle YS, does the steering whee recoil back easily after a turn or does it feel “dead”, meaning you hv to manually turn it back to center ?
All cars have a certain caster angle built in to recentre the steering. I would say the Axia is normal, like other cars.
YS Khong Driving I just ordered an Axia Style, and watching yr video did influence my purchase decision😀
Any car is fast in the hands of Uncle YS
Pakcik ni ex malaysian rally driver..memang patut skill power..tag me pleasee
Hi!
Is it normal to hear loud rumbling sound when going uphill? Does it affect engine's longevity?
We are revving high to maximise the power - but not exceeding the rev limit of the engine. Technically it does not affect longevity of the engine. Note that we are testing and reviewing the car.
Im planning to buy axia...looking at this video i be very happy to consider one
Great!
Good buy, bro
Hi Uncle , would like to ask whether you should warm the engine while starting the engine before you drive or you can drive the car immediately after you have started up your engine ?
Please warm it up by driving it at low engine speed, preferably below 3000 rpm immediately after starting. No need to wait for it to warm up - it warms up faster when it is on load.
@@YSKhongDriving Thanks Uncle for the good advise. Appreciate that. 👍👍👍
uncle, do you think handling of bezza is worse than axia? or is it the same?
We will be testing the Bezza. Please wait for the video.
Hahaha, gear 2 and 3 climb genting , nice la uncle.. U are legend
Tak bolih Masuk 4.
Bunta in Malaysia.relax but legend😅🤙
Nice! Are u gonna do the routine part 3(acceleration and speed test) for this car?
Cos in the end of video u are heading towards pahang LPT where the highway is straight and clear
Yes, please stay tuned.
@@YSKhongDriving i look forward for ur video everyday.. Most entertaining channel ever
Uncle do you feel burnt smell from the engine when you pedal revved to the max?
No. Sometimes on very new cars we get some exhaust paint smell as the cat converter heats up, or the silencers.
Yeah. Finally! :D
U mmg power lar uncle 👍👍👍
Low torque but still enjoy watching👍
Would there be a sufficient difference in handling between the 15inch rims with the style variant vs the regular 14inch in the other variants?
The 15 inch would be a bit better.
@@YSKhongDriving thanks for your input uncle. 👍 Considering 15s for my current standard 14 Axia. Currently minor bumps/uneven surfaces on highways causes the car to veer off quite easily at speeds of 90km/h or so. I was told rim size will help.
9:19 I can feel how proud he is from this line hahaha
Really?
you know what the best part? he didnt turn the ac off just to get extra boost
V.J GamePlay it’s on. Level 1 blower.

@NQ AC Puts a load on the engine this is like car basic 101
@NQ I wish this was the truth lmao
NQ cheap brain
Uncle, did all the car you testing are all standard from factory, or did you do some tuning yourself
All standard from factory.
Regardless of the car , if the driver is a beast , he can outperform any high spec car
Uncle, is it not detrimental for the auto transmission if we often change it like a manual. And another question, can we squeeze out all the power and (torque)of engine in low gear high rpm situation like this.
Well, you just saw it. Manual shifting is an option with automatic gearboxes. It is perfectly safe.
