  • Spectra Color Studio television receiver, manufactured by Nordmende 1967-1968, Germany. Features four picture tubes, one colour and three monochrome. With the Spectra Color Studio TV System, Nordmende wants to offer more than just a color television set. It is a professional Studio TV system at home. It provides the possibility to watch 4 different TV programs at a glance in a single device. This product has remained unique in the television industry. Described by the makers as ‘Specially designed observation monitor for television creative staff and journalists’. It was used by some sports journalists (and wealthy fans) so they could watch all the sport on all the channels on a Saturday afternoon. It was the fore-runner of the modern PIP (picture-in-picture) facility found on some current sets. Despite its innovative style, it was not a commercial success. First generation from the Spectra Color Studio series.

Those were the days .What a beauty with a French testpattern in PAL.
It was my dream to have this set in PAL/Sécam system C,B,G,H,D,K,L,I.
Well my only achievement was to make a Sony KV 5100 work on these systems

    Oh God,
I'm really impressed how carefully you restored the device! Chapeau! In your video you show a test image from ORTF. Does that mean the device was also capable of Secam?
    Man, congratulations on the device!

The TV is only suitable for PAL broadcasts. The French test image comes from a media player, is a JPG file

Schitterende tv Marcel, lijkt in nieuwstaat! Mooi professioneel in beeld gebracht. Was het niet zo dat de Duitse tv studio's een tijdje dit model hebben gebruikt? Weet ik niet zeker. Uniek toestel, al helemaal in deze werkende conditie...

Amazing.. did all the monitors take the signal from the same cable or did the cable have to be split?
