Lol. Your review of this book was hilarious. I read it last year when I got it in this same box. I enjoyed it while I read it, but I didn't love it, and I don't think I'll pick up more from the author. I don't mind the steam at all, though I don't have to have in my romance either, but the grumpy, giant man + tiny, clueless woman trope is apparently in most, if not all, of her stories, and that's not really my thing either, lol. I do feel that NYE is a bit of a letdown holiday, but I have had a couple fun ones. I think it really matters what kind of crowd you ring in the new year with. I still haven't tried just reading a book all night to celebrate it, but it does sound fun. Maybe next one.
Ah yeah, I guess I don't mind the spicy bits that much, but I just wouldn't seek them out. Now when I see someone reading that author...it's a little like seeing what someone's decided to watch on an airplane and not necessarily judging or feeling embarrassed, but just marveling that they're not saving that for home.
I would love to see a book box of Sophie Go's Lonely Hearts Club - not spicy, realistic and likeable heroine, plausible story, and Sophie loves candy so at least a couple of gifts could be the Asian candy she likes
The plates and tumbler are super cute! I don't even like romcom movies so no way I'm reading a "graphic" novel with a cliché smart but dumb scientist. 🙈
Think I'll skip this book. I guess I would have been considered a literature major at your university. I double majored in English and history, specializing in medieval literature and history.
The difference for us was mainly having to have a second language (which I did) but I stuck with English to be able to do creative writing. We had a separate major of History & Literature.
I never actually read that one. I read a couple passages and my eyes almost got stuck in the back of my head. The one year I did NaNoWriMo my novel turned out pretty racy. Maybe that’s why I never did anything with it.

I hated that protagonist more with every word. At least she’s brainy. Also I don’t think that book had any dragons 🐉 in it so that’s a minus ……. 😉
