Didn't leave due to musical differences. He left because he could handle the stress any more of being a writer, performer and band manager all at the same time. He's still strongly involved with the band, as a management position, but just doesn't perform any more.

the sound is too "alternative rock" to have a scream voice... they are better now without dan, who hasn't a great scream also

This is the first time I've heard this band. But I think the guy at the start should sing on his own, exactly like he did in the intro. That gave me chills.
What people fail to realize is that not all bands are out there to make the most money and achieve the most fame. Some bands are just a group of friends who want to play music together and would never betray each other...
