Thats an old hen, but we old school folks that have been following you for 20 years, still remember that Eurasia wood duck that Jase put the swat on. Can't for the life of me remember what dvd it was from. Could have been Bloodline 9, Or One Duck More. Either way, that was a rare duck. Lol
🤣🤣🤣 menopause been tough on her.... my husband and I finally bought some land in North Florida and we have an acre or 2 that floods. I said perfect when they told us. Can not wait.
Thats definitely an old bird, not immature but in eclipse plumage. You guys probably dont see them too much down south that far, we see them all the time up north.
@@KEOutdoors just looked this up. Looks to be “Adult male molting into breeding plumage” or “Adult male in Eclipse Plumage” didn’t know they did this so thanks!
Justin any recommendations on attracting different species of ducks? I’m in Indiana and our 4 acre pond seems to only attract mallards and geese. We get teal in the late summer but nothing else visits the pond during the winter months but mallards
He said the last duck was a mallard with white wings but the duck he picked up was a widgeon can someone tell me what time he shows the bird because I can’t find it
Gotta a gsp about a year need to get him trained up! Love watching a dog charge! Y’all prolly got some sho nuff references to try and use for school, any would be greatly appreciated I’m on caddo lake so kinda local to y’all.
I killed a hooded merganser west of the Brazos river in Texas. Game warden checked use that morning an told use what kind of duck it was. He never seen one an said they were in the eastern fly zone. Back in the 70s. Only duck I ever got mounted
You know it's rough when north Louisiana boys gotta cross the border to shoot ducks. Short stopping and hot cropping has really hurt the hunting south of Missouri.
I tell something I learned about duck hunting real fast ive only been twice in my life ducks are hard to hit them suckers are fast we was standing on tip of hulls in the blind we shot so many times 🤣 I'm more of a dove Hunter lol.. cool hunt though man
@@JMartinduckman I feel ya and so did my lab two years ago.. Locust trees ain't no labs or even my waders friend.. she ran a 2" thorn in her foot on a retrieve and you would've thought SHE had been shot. I pulled half out and the other half finally pushed itself out 6 months later.. Wasn't spending $700 on surgery and she wasn't in any pain.. So it worked out.. We love our dogs but there's nothing worse than seeing them in a bind in the field...
I would say it has bred a farm duck or an old muskogee nasty jokers . I have seen some ugly ducks in Florida when they breed with a good looking mallard they come out with a different color head and funky wing colors
Agree not a juvenile drake. The bill DOES have to be orange on an old hen. A hermaphrodite or intersex duck could have traits of either sex I believe. Also, does an old drake start looking like a hen?
Yes I have consulted with folks much smarter than myself and they said it could be either way. Only way to know is to dissect and see which parts are present.
Also I have a story bout a Duck and a Mink that I believe will improve your Duck Callin! Why? Have you ever or do you Know the Distress Call!???!? I do! Ive Herd it!!! HINT ITs A 7 note Scream!!! Im somewat Musician. I do pay attention to the sounds of all animals! I Call MYself A Squirrel Commander!!! lol> Casey Earl Dooley! Earl The Squirrel!!!
And Justin Martin "Takes Down" a rare DUCK? Doesn't 'Takes Down" sound a little over the top for people that go to water, throw decoys in it, hide in the bushes and blow a whistle and then shoot a defenseless bird with a gun that discharges a barrage of projectiles? You'd think he killed a black bear with his bare hands or something.
I bet Justin would be a good friend to have.
Thank you for showing us all that beautiful bird. Love waterfowl hunting. Hope to one day get out that way. Love your show keep up the great work.

Justin, Clay great video. Much more enjoyable than a rice field hunt.More entertaining also.
Definitely a PETA nightmare video. I love it.
preservation at its finest, good job fellas

Can we get a homemade duck blind build?
Great video Martin!
Ducks seem to be much better than last year.
I believe Canada being closed has made a huge difference

Good job fellas!!!
why does all of the duck commander crew talk just like phil lol
Why do all the Bowling’s ask stupid questions?
He’s the boss. That’s why.
Got my timer on
Y’all need to add in some videos of cleaning all the ducks when you get home if y’all don’t just drop them off to someone else to clean.👍🏼💯
Makes me want to play some duck hunter on Nintendo
I’m excited
"it's rough on ducks too" lol
I enjoyed watching that the way they decoyed in

I was huntin some timber in arkansas and saw a full white mallard drake, somethin that made me drop my jaw rather than shoot!

I killed my first woodie drake this weekend. I called my uncle a trophy 5 year old drake woodie
I’m debating between buying the “duck commander classic” or the “jase Robertson pro series” which call would you recommend getting??
I have the pro series, sounds amazing and it’s easy to use. I would recommend that. It’s beautiful as well
ZINK!!
Both
Great Hunt
Great job on the duck
Old mallard hens start taking on characteristics of drake still an awesome bird
Yes but not bill color, it’s a young drake.
Nah bruh
@@claytonreasor8508it’s definitely a young drake
That’s an immature drake not a hen. Killed one before early season in Arkansas. Still a cool duck though. Doesn’t happen often.
I agree. I it was a hen the billed would be orange.

It’s called an eclipse drake
Most of the ducks up here in Iowa are gone

I don’t see a problem with mallards and geese but something you could do is plant feed for the ducks or create a marshy environment for other ducks.
That probably has more to do with your flyway and not the feed
@@JMartinduckman but if you’re trying to attract the ducks in your area it can help bring in what’s there

Deer hunted Darbonne this weekend and the duck hunters were letting them have it

You know it's rough when north Louisiana boys gotta cross the border to shoot ducks. Short stopping and hot cropping has really hurt the hunting south of Missouri.
Did you forget your dog lol
Nope. Too many thorn trees to put a pup through that.
The way it decoyed in. That was more than likely a young drake that hatched this year.
If You Blow A Distress 7 note sound You Know What it will do! This is something I have Not Herd Youall Discuss!
what was the once in a life time duck?
Men OOooooo pause ya tuff
Just a young drake, prolly super late Hatcher. Bill don’t lie

Just looks like a immature drake to me, yellow bill indicates drake all day
buts its a hen they do that when they get old
@@hunting_studios7321 no sir, their bills will always stay the colors of a hen
Definitely not immature
@@JMartinduckman I know you know your ducks, but I’m tellin ya that wasn’t a hen. Their bills don’t change colors with age, eclipse drake
Deer hunter you right. Got one just like it couple years ago in Ark. Drake fo sho
Is this b-real from Cypress Hill LOL
Why no retriever???
We learned the hard way there’s too many thorn trees in there. Always end up with a sore pad

A mallard hen with a green head

Eat KFC extra crispy fried chicken. Shoot skeets. Leave the ducks alone and google "pet duck videos" for some REALLY good videos to watch!!
It's known as an Intersex Duck....not enough estrogen to fight off the testosterone.
Other than a wounded duck, I don’t believe in shooting ducks on the water. Just not sporting.
Shame on you for killing for sport then. I kill ducks for food even if there on the water seems to me like your not a real hunter
