  • gourmetwithblak... I LOVE a good pickle- especially if there's a lot of flavor and zest! These homemade pickles are seriously the best ever and so easy to make. They're the perfect way to use all of my cucumber growing in the garden!

If you lay the jars on their side as you load them you’ll have an easier time getting the pickles in. You might be able to add one or two more ! It’s picking season right now for me! I pickle for long-term storage. 😁

Great recipe, I enjoy it but just a reminder if you are not going to do the water bath step those will need to be refrigerated

I hate to break it to you Blakely but vinegar is basically just acetic acid (5-10%) and water (90-95%.) It doesn't really matter whether or not it's "organic". What makes yours organic is this case is that it was made from non-GMO corn vs. regular corn but even that doesn't matter. As stated, since vinegar is just acetic acid and mostly water, the fact that it comes from GMO vs. non-GMO corn is really irrelevant. Stop wasting your money! Your pickles were great though!

Thank you for this informative video. I just wanted to know how long can this method be kept on a shelf versus inside the refrigerator? I know you mentioned 10 days before eating them. I see that a lot of people have been water bathing the jars for a stable shelf-life. Is that necessary or can these jars stay out of the fridge without water bathing prior to opening the lids?

Do these need refrgerated or canned or water bath?

I just refrigerate! If you want to keep them longer then a water bath would be great. Pickles don't last longer than a few days in my house.
