Hey! I'm 1 month late and Idk if you're still working on doing those ahs but I'm also ariel in the little mermaid at my theatre and I'm having a hard time singing them. I am a mezzo-soprano and I can hit one or 2 notes below an e flat which is the highest note in these ahs. I just wanted to know what you did or are doing to sing these. Are you able to hit them now?
So I am the same, so all of it was in my head voice also I do a little opera singing so that helped. And if you really can't hit it just during the show don't hit it just hit the note below it no will notice I promise
@@skylarkaufman6394 Ah I see. I've been practicing the ahhs in the full head voice/chest voice all the way up to those last 2- 3 notes and then I have to switch to a more breathy head voice. My musical director said it was fine to do it like that. But what you said about hitting a note below could be helpful if I can't hit the highest note. Thank you so much! I actually have 1 more question XD I'm sorry to bother you, but I was wondering how you sing the Part of Your World Reprise 2. The highest note is also e flat. I also do a kind of breathy head voice sound when I hit that high note. The musical director told me to just do the movie version of that reprise, which is lower but I really wanna do the high one cause it adds more of a dramatic effect lol. So I guess I'm fine with either but I'm trying to conquer the high one. What was your take on it? Did you do the high or low one?
@@ameliaroseh The high one was a fun challenge for me and made me feel so good when I did it so I think it would be awesome for you to try and hit it. But if you want to stay in your comfort zone and stick with the low that is awesome too! Either way whichever one you choose I know you will sound amazing!

We haven't worked on it, but we're going to do a run through of the show on saturday so I'm going to just do it, despite what anyone thinks. It's getting easier to hit the note, as I keep practicing, so I'm just going to go for it. I could stick with comfort zone but I'd rather go for the high note, I just wanted to see your take on it and I now see that i just have to do it and feel. Thank you!
