I got to help my Grandfather and his nephew make a quadrant for the blade on his tractor. It was 2" x 2" by 1/2. The same principles apply except you have to bend in two directions. He had me use the 8 lb sledge while he used the 2 lb. His instructions were "hit the same place I hit." It was hot work. To get that angle hot enough in the forge to bend heated up the shop fast. Seeing that kind of stuff is pretty awesome.
The tooling to make the piece is the hard part. Good stuff.
