this band is the definition of "supergroup"

Iles and Glaciers
+Daniel Yeager Isles and glaciers was so bad dude xD but that's just my opinion
No worries Claudio, it's also mine.
+The Claudio musically they sucked lol they made it all about the vocalist
I honestly believe will swan is the greatest guitarist of our time. The dude does solo-status riffs and they're just for backing instrumentals. I mean damn dude.
Yea but can't forget the likes of Bulb and Holcomb
Tosin Abasi?
Dude, he does the solo in Powder to the People as he's rapping! Fucker is a legend.
And don't get me started on the Arpeggio plucking.. Goodness..
You want another amazing guitarists? Check out Thank You Scientist. Tom Monda is his name I believe. I am so happy I have one of his picks.
They sound like Circa Survive with the difficulty maxed out
Zacpack91 😂😂
Yup
Anthony Green ft. Mars Volta

The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen: the album.

Rui Carneiro loooool!perfect.
Are you kidding me right now? Three-four of my favourite bands clashed to make this masterpiece and I only hear about it now? Shame on you social media..
Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to begin the process of cherishing this band for the rest of my life.
sianvar has been a thing since 2013
Lavaalamp Yes ofcourse, which makes it even worse.
Have you been hiding under a rock???
Katt Mitchell Yes, this is Patrick.
How can you blame social media? That's all on you.
At 4:10, Mike's looking at Joe like "You better play that shit," and Joe's looking back at Mike like "Oh, I'm PLAYING that shit nigga"
Guinness record for most drum fills in a song
😂😂
Nah that'd go to Slipknot with Joey Jordison lmao
I heard a couple parts that weren't fills... I think...
@@banananaz674 wtf? Joey fkn sucks lol
@@elchangux joey does not suck huh
who the fuck disliked this piece of magical noise
Right?
Marco Lazo 61 weirdo losers
they disliked it because now they have such a high standard of good music that its hard to jam the fuck out as hard as one does to this magical creation
Having listened to this song about 300 times this month, I’m convinced this is one of the greatest pieces of music of all time. Not just in this genre, not just in rock. Phenomenal writing, perfectly executed.
Listen to the whole album and their lp. All of donovan meleros music is amazing
Gambit resilla
And you've been bless btw
If Circa and The Mars Volta had a love child
derek motta would u please recommend bands like this. I love the mars Volta good tiger protest the hero. recommend a lot please
Chepo Joe Polyphia, A lot like birds, Periphery, Saosin their older stuff is better imo
i was just trying to figure out who the lead singer or the song sounded like and u fucking hit the nail on the head. circa survive. ty that was going to annoy me all night.
check out animals as leaders and volumes... I haven't been keeping up with a lot of this music too much lately but they're good
My ovaries
When this band came on my Spotify recommends I refused to believe this wasn't another Anthony Green side project. That voice is uncanny!
Always enjoy Sergio and Will's playing. Sergio has the sweep to tap movement down really well.
anybody else notice it is essentially a room where if you aren't playing your hardest, you are teleported out. In this case it ended up as a competition between the drummer and bassist. In which the bassist is the victor. They are all looking at him through the glass like "holy shit man"
Holy shit, it certainly does seem like that. But, HUH??
Thanks for this interpretation. I was just thinking: what the hell does this video mean. lol
@@OmmyThestral I think OPs in the right track, theres a reason they're all in the studio losing their minds, constantly focusing on the producer. something about the pressures of recording an album with a band full of ridiculous musicians.
they're all trying to outdo each other (best highlighted during the climax with the drummer and bassist intently playing AT each other) the lyrics have some psychedelic imagery (moving walls, frigid halls, snarling voices, self reflection "we are the problem now") that might play into the overall meaning, everyone except Joe has been pretty open about drug use afaik.
I might be projecting, but I think that's the point with videos as vague as this... to fill in the gaps.
I think it's a literal interpretation of the lyrics. I think he's saying what if these walls could talk, what would they reveal and about what past lives?
Eventually, they are in grafted into the walls. They are history now. They are not pleading for escape so they arent stuck.
They just represent the people at the end of the verse. We are those people now.
The bassist might be alone playing but, his band isnt there anymore. He's playing as if that's what he's always *been doing.
He left going home but didnt seem scared. Like, it's another day. Perhaps he's gone solo and is just in the music.
The "walls" also house a room. It is monitored by someone outside. Maybe its paranormal but also, maybe that's showbiz. People come and go and if the walls could talk.
But this is about omniphobia, the fear of everything. So perhaps the guy on the laptop is suffering from that. Maybe he's a manager and had been seeing artists or is investigating a haunted house.
Maybe its fear of just being a memory.
After looking st the previous comment, maybe it's the fear of being outdone, left behind and left just being a memory. Because anything can be scary. If you are scared of everything, you might just cease to be history in the walls instead of living?
Just spitballing here.
Of all Sacramento area progressive post-hardcore bands, Sianvar is my favorite.
This song popped up on Spotify and I was like “oh, Anthony green is in another band? Oh boy!” Then I was introduced to Mars. Wow impressive vocals
the mars volta has some of the craziest vocals ever
It does sound like Anthony if I imagine him
fr d i’ll
Same! I found Sianvar, Nova Charisma, and Hail The Sun all at the same time and imagine how confusing it was for me to realise it wasn't all just Anthony Green, especially since he's in Circa Survive and Saosin already loll
Comments like this make me so happy. Hope you've enjoyed The Mars Volta as much as I did ♥️
The drums are just incredible
Joseph arrington is a great drummer
Volta Survive?
Circa The Mars?
Naytone surive the mars
Dance mars survive
Circa Survive the dance on Mars
Gavin Survives At The Dance on Mars?
I love Donovan Melero. If you are new to this vein of the genre, check out Hail The Sun and Nova Charisma. Those two along with Sianvar have been making such good music.
Love you Donovan you are a huge inspiration and one of my personal favorite drummer/vocalist.
Hail the sun is fire
Check out his solo work too
GOD I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE HIATUS TO END
I know!!!!
Hail the Sun is where it's at, Donovan (vocals) is so active in different bands I just hop between whatever project he's involved with lol. He's been a part of his own self titled solo tracks, Hail the Sun (new album in April), Sianvar, Nova Charisma, and those are only the ones I'm aware of he could be doing even more stuff 😂
@@raspygrandma7494 yeah i love that all the musicians I follow are in so many projects like Tim in DGD + Wolf and Bear, The boys in DGD and Secret Band, Kurt Travis and his projects, Donovan in HTS, Nova Charisma, etc. this community is gonna flourish for a long time
@@drinalco totally!! The talent to tackle even one band is insane, doing multiple is beyond my imagination lol
Idc who you compare them to they have their own unique sound and it's so dope to me.
For sure! Hope you've been listening to Donovan and Sergio's new band, Nova Charisma. Shit is absolutely fire.
@@jacob5061 i know what i'll be doing this morning thanks bro!
Dance Gavin dance
Hail The Sun
@@drankFoD this doesn't sound like dgd really at all... i know Will Swan is here but it's way darker, way more psychedelic, and just an entirely different vibe... it seems that Donovan has a big impact on any band he's in and it becomes darker... in a good way.
0:35 sick laptop solo
Reminds me a lot of Circa Survive
I was thinking the same thing, but that's a really good thing haha
CIRCA SURVIVE - DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
Lex Rock I was thinking the same thing :D
Aun así es muy buena la rola
That's amazing considering there are no similarities whatsoever
I just gotta say. I think my favorite part is the drummer. He was my favorite part of A Lot Like Birds too. He might be my favorite drummer.
dreaminginnoother listen to Circa Survive's drummer
@@harrybaggins666 dude circa's drummer is amazing
THAT CICATRIZ GROOVE.
I WAS SO THINKING THIS
You can tell they take inspiration from old Mars Volta shit in multiple ways. The groove is undeniable though
Yes!!
The shnozzberries taste like shnozzberries.
their sound is much more controlled on this song. I hope the rest of the album follows suit. this band has a lot of potential but theres a lot of creative force going on too. not a bad thing but it can be hard to coordinate.
Very constructive +1
JonTron's new band is sick! \m/
Most people probably won't get the reference you're making.
I see the resemblance lightweight lol
+datniggapatyo I did 😂
I Guessss Donovan kinda vaguely looks like Jontron?
Why?
Getting a super Mars Volta vibe. Super excited for the album!
Will Swan is god of post-hardcore guitarist
I saw them when they were touring with DGD and it was sad that not that many people were singing along/moshing/emgaged. For a band with the talent this has they don't get nearly enough recognition. I get that their sound is a little bit different from the usual stuff but they're fantastic imo.
Two of the sicked guitarists out there. Great stuff.
Don't forget Michael Franzino - He is on bass in this video, but he is a SICK guitarist and was the leading force behind A Lot Like birds, Kurt Travis' project after DGD
The Mars Volta + Circa Survive
Donny is not on drums, but it's okay because they have pretty much the only drummer in the world who can match him for pure listen-ability, Joseph Arrington.
Don't forget the Mingus.
Is Joey Baca not a thing?
russejg True, his work on Language was unbelievable.
Luke Davies rt
Carlo is pretty raw too
An intense version of Chon with Vocals.
Adrian Katzenstein YES
Well agreed
I love chon
Just coming in four years later to say no matter how short lived this band was, this album is fucking perfect and they should all be proud.
They honestly have a spot in my top 3 bands of all time. So underrated and underappreciated. 50% of the music I've been listening to since 2017 has been with Donovan... I cannot get enough.
when i meditate i focus on my breathing that's the one thing that i can do or think about. making it a manual thing and when my mind starts to travel off onto other things that i'm trying to take a break from i stop breathing. when i start to notice that i'm thinking about things i shouldn't is when i start to feel the affect of my body running out of the stored air/ suffocation. sometimes it gives me the push i need to really think about the things i need to so i can become aware of things that i need to change in myself
This track is amazing! Can't wait for the album!!!
I didn't think they could beat there EP, but this not only beats it, it blows that album way out of perspective of how fantastic this is!!! So hyped!
I don't know why but this song makes me think of how frustrating it can be when recording a song at a studio with people. Getting everyone to get their individual tracking correctly... When you're tracking and it feels like everyone is watching you... Spending countless hours in the studio getting the song just right... Deciding to stay after to record or mix after everyone has left... I doubt that's what this video was going for but I see a lot of frustration.
I'd like to see these guys in the studio, they wrote and tracked this album in like 2 weeks
+Christian Gonzales idk about writing... They've played this song and another one live back in 2015
They may have tracked it that quickly, but there's no way in hell they wrote it that quickly
+ProfCereal yeah in December lol and this album has been done for months they've just been sitting on it
You can feel the vibes of all the bands they play for, its awesome when put together.
The distorted guitar tones in this track are CLEAN!!!!
"[Verse 1]
Have you ever shared a premonition
Have you ever lived inside a dream
(Watching me, energy, moving me, stays asleep)
Have you ever stayed in one position
Terrified by movement on the sheets
[Chorus]
(Moving walls)
It's a cold belief
(Frigid halls)
It's the problem when we believe to see, believe to be the dead
(Moving walls)
It's a cold belief
(Frigid halls)
It's the problem when we believe to see, believe to live again
(What if we could hear them all)
[Verse 2]
Would they give us answers
Would they try to tell us what the rooms say
To tell us what the walls say
The apparition comes to stay with us
In terrible condition, terrible condition
[Verse 3]
Have you ever laid in one position
(Any move you make is real)
Realized that you forget to breathe
(Any move you make is real)
Whispers in the wall begin to snarl, begin to talk
We are the problem now
We are the hollow sounds
Ad
[Chorus]
(Moving walls)
It's a cold belief
(Frigid halls)
It's the problem when we believe to see, believe to be the dead
(Moving walls)
It's a cold belief
(Frigid halls)
It's the problem when we believe to see, believe to live again
(What if we could hear them all)
[Bridge]
What's in front of us (on the water)
Moving through the walls (float together)
What's in front of us (on the water)
Moving through the walls (son and father)
What's in front of us (on the water)
Moving through the walls (float together)
What's in front of us (on the water)
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 4]
What if we could hear them all whisper
Stuck in the wall, shaking the mirror
What if we could hear them all whisper
Stuck in the wall, shaking the mirror
Ad
[Outro]
Have you ever seen yourself asleep
Whispers in the wall begin to snarl, begin to talk
We are the problem now
We are the hollow sounds"
(Sianvar, "Omniphobia", Genius)
don't matter if they sound similar to another band. they're all unique in their own way. badass.
Literally just discovered these guys. Best thing to discover. For some reason this song reminds me of the most dangerous commercials by circa survive and I have no idea why. They aren’t even remotely close. But so good!
I clicked this by accident without reading the title and nostalgia is kicking my ass right now.
Will can't contain his genius in one band, so he created another two.
Loved the Mars Volta influence in the base and drum rhythm.
Will Swan isn’t capable of producing music that isn’t completely awesome. This much I know. This, DGD, Coda. All absolutely elite bands.
This song is good, but the rest album just bangs even harder- really good
At the end - freaking bassists.
Thanks for puting it up on spotify so fast!!!
PS still waiting on that hail the sun newst album... lol
It dropped on 6/17
+Brian Perez not on spotify
This song is on spotify..
Brian Perez i ment as in waiting for it to get on spotify..
K.
Is he the vocalist of Hail to the sun?
Yeah, he is.
and the guitarist i think is from dance gavin dance????
@@microsoftaxl5178 yes his name is Will Swan the owner of Blue Swan Records
Hail the sun
He's the vocalist and drummer from hail the sun
They will never tell you, so I‘ll spill the beans. This is secretly Jazz.
Connector by A Lot Like Birds
same drummer
Every Band Will Swan is in is guaranteed to shred.
This is a SUPER MEGA BAND WTF!!!!!!!!!!???? Literally screaming out! Stumbled upon this listening to a hail the sun playlist! Wow!!!!
I wanna more Sianvar staff!!
Sianvar isn't a band anymore but if you want something similar check out Hail The Sun. It has the same vocalist/drummer, a very similar style, and the same (if not better) energy
I just fucking love how WILD Donovan goes in this video.
Ugh I wish so badly that they would release at LEAST one more E.P... The probability is incredibly slim, but one can dream. 🙏🏻💜
2:38 could be a mars volta breakdown. Coulda heard Cedric start singing and wouldn't have been the least surprised.
this is the direction that I wished Circa would have gone. But they did their thing and thats cool. I'm just glad Sianvar filled that void Circa left me with after Violent Waves.
I don't there's ever been an album before where I just listen to the whole thing at once. This is a god damn masterpiece.
Sergio killing it again 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Holy crap this song is amazing.
Edit : I can't get over how amazing Donovan's voice is. Fuuuuck.
Did anyone crap themselves when they saw adorable Donny with SHORT HAIR
google searched omniphobia and you're first suggestion. That's cool!
This is really amazing guys! It reminds me Circa Survive too, also Saosin (yes, Anthony Green soul)... but it´s more powerfull, with that percussion touches! I really like it! I hope you come to Madrid some day!
What a great line up
Strong Circa influences. Singer sounds abit like green - both good things in my book.
My first Sianvar song that'd start this five year fandom of this mans music
this band has a very fresh new sound. I am really digging it.
I'm getting heavy circa survive vibes from this
Oh damn, Sergio's Lines are so fuckin GOOD, this guy seems like a monsters in his guitar, FUCKIN AWESOME
I don't think the world was ready for this it's all will swans fault he's a genius
I've never seen such shred in one video
everything is so perfect. La atmosfera, the música, el vid. Will, sergio.... without palabras parce.
He is literally Anthony Green
I’m addicted. I don’t know how much longer I can give in to it.
This reminds me so much of early Anthony Green/circa (singer's energy is on point), great song guys.
Swan style needs to come back to calm the masses
This song calms my nerves.
This will go down as one of my favourite songs in history, this shit is so sick and i just cant explain it. Gods.
thank you spotify discovery weekly for this gold.
So FUCKING hyped for their new album, like holy fucking shit.
the best of circa survive and the mars volta.
Now the transition to The Mars Volta-Core is almost complete *twirls moustache*
I didn't see the giant resemblance of Circa Survive on this song until around 1:58 when he just becomes Anthony Green for a few second haha
I dont understand why everyone compares sounds like this to circa. Yes. Circa been around a little while longer, but its musicians like this that fine tune the sound to perfection. Stop comparing and enjoy the music and its influence.
This sounds like Juturna yet still unique, I'm not a hater or anything this literally makes my ears nut
They did it again!
These guys really remind me of like Saosin or Circa Survive. It's also cool to see bands come together and form these super groups, these guys are sweet! Cant wait to see em tomorrow with DGD
it's weird not seeing Donovan on drums but I friggn love this and and I missed them when they played in ep and I'm still sad about it
FINALLY NEW SIANVAR YES
4:23 I guess Michael is alone....
lol
He's being watched.
hahahaha
new album when
I can't stop listening to this. Can't wait for the new album and can't wait to see them in San Antonio in sept with Save us From The Archon! And my Iron Lung as well :p
Goosebumps through the entire ep. Absolutely incredible idea and sound.
The bass and drums in this song remind me alot of the mars volta great band great song
I fear this is one of the few best songs ever on this album.
What?
You literally have nothing to indicate that. You're completely speculating wildly.
+Jr Crago lol
Like, where did this kid drum this up?
I'm literally so confused lol
Holy fuck, this is great
This gets better every time I listen to it
A truly incredible prog/post-whatever album from the best members of the four best prog/post-whatever bands on the scene today. Fingers crossed for another ALLB/Sianvar/Stolas tour soon, even if I don't like ALLB LP IV as much as I had hoped
