- A guide for getting an SSL/TLS Certificate installed onto your Apache web server using Ubuntu. Create your CSR and Private Key, order your SSL and validate your domain. Written Guide with all the commands and configs can be found here: www.ssltrust.c...
Excellent guide 👍
There is a typo in step 7 of the written guide which may catch people out as there is a space in the first two commands after a2 when there shouldn't be :
"sudo a2 enmod ssl" should be "sudo a2enmod ssl" and the same error is in the second command
Thanks for that!
i got an error
Process: 13311 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/apachectl start (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
can you help me out please
Thank you so much! I'm hosting my website on my server at home and that made things a bit different. But it worked! Also, what do you think of free SSL certificates? You used a paid one in your demo. Again, thank you so much for this video. I liked it and bookmarked it.
Thank you very much for this video. It really helped me, I managed to install an SSL certificate for the first time in Ubuntu! I have bookmarked the written guide.
Glad it helped!
How can I install ssl certificate for a subdomain?
it's installed and the browser detects it but the connection is not encrypted
I really like this video and it helped me alot.. I have a wildcard ssl cert how can I install that ? I don't find a way to install it.
A wildcard SSL is generally installed the same way. If you need help please contact our support team.
Good video! Can part of a site be http and another https?
Yes it can, this would depend on your hosting provider tho and their setup. And how you have built your website. This generally there should be no reason you cant have it all https
Thanks, this is easy to follow
You're welcome!
you are legendary! thank you so much, you earned a subscriber.
Glad I could help!
Thank you well explained.
Where can we find the Default SSL confi file ?
The Ubuntu server with Apache2 main configuration file for your SSL/TLS site is typically found in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/your_site_name.
If it's not found in the 'sites-enabled' directory, run the command below.
sudo a2ensite your_site_name
Awesome guide thanx.
