If using a blade, get an “Exacto Knife.” Way more control over a razor blade.
Or use teeny tiny micro clippers to “crush” the center.
I would keep off either end. (the delicate solder pads.) 💁🏻‍♀️

The sad end to the story is I ran it over with a forklift about a month later 😢 but I did buy a new one 😊

I did the mod on my radio and now the speaker will not work. I can use the speaker mic to listen but cant hear anything without speaker mic. Any suggestions?

Oh no! I don’t. The radio in this video was destroyed by me running it over with a forklift accidentally. I replaced it with another one but haven’t done the mod again yet. I bet it’s just the connection of the speaker at the board

The mod works with the battery in, but
When I run it plugged in to the wall, every time I press the PTT, it reboots.
Where it didn't do that before the mod.
Did I do something wrong? Is it only me that noticed that this is something that happens because of this?
Is there a work around this?
I can do everything else while plugged in.
I like to save battery by plugging it in at home or in the car. So this is a bit of a problem.
But other than that, the mod seems to work well, can transmit where I couldn't before.

Gosh, I’m not sure. There might be a factory reset you can try. Side note; I ran that radio over with a forklift. It didn’t survive. I bought a new one, but I haven’t done the mats mod on it yet

@@danedwards7597 I did try the Reset already.
To access the reset you do sort of like to connect to programing software.
Hold the Moni button while turning the radio on, then select which reset.. did Reset all.
Anyway. It seems to me to be something to do with the hardware.
      Thank you for the response.

What did you mean when you said you will do offsets ? After you modded your FT60 , you have to offset some of the GMRS frequencies so you can listen and transmit them?
    Thanks

It’s been a while, but I believe I was talking about the repeater channels for the Gmrs repeaters
