    So many memories of the 80s come back to me, the best decade, because an incredible amount of that time still has an impact today.
    Suddenly so many tears come to my eyes, from joy, from sadness... only this music can do that.
    Anyone who wasn't there may never be able to understand it properly...

    The best episode out of the entire five seasons. Like many earlier episodes of Miami Vice, this one replaced the usual fatuity of standard police procedural drama, with cold dark cynicism of the highest order. The ending was equally significant with its noir realism.

    • @WorldCupWillie
      @WorldCupWillie 3 месяца назад

      It has a nearly ubiquitous noir theme, namely the appearance of the past in the present.

    Was a teenager when this show was first aired. Miami Vice night was always accompanied by a pizza. This scene gives me goosebumps, such a great show. Please no remakes. The acting in this scene is amazing, even the way EJO just stares at the floor saying nothing.

    Miami Vice truly was a concept years ahead of its time. A concept that would only have worked in the magical decade that was the 80s. The cast, the cars , the settings, the soundtracks, the production and my personal favourite, the clothes. And for this reason I'm strongly against any reboot of this magical series. They tried it with the Colin Farrell movie which in my opinion was an embarrassment to the original version. A truly magical era in television.

      I agree with you bro’ 😎. I was born in the 70’s and was growing up in the ‘80’s. It was a unique decade. There will sadly never be another quite like it in terms of music, fashion and 📺 TV. The film was absolute pants 🩲 and a total embarrassment. Some things should just not be remade and should remain untouched because they cannot be bettered. Few things capture the ‘80’s like Miami Vice. It was a masterpiece.

    A truly superb piece of television. This episode, Out Where The Busses Don’t Run is considered to be the Miami Vice ep that all others are judged by. Excellent acting, editing, direction and production and the final unraveling dark mind of Hank Weldon brings and end to a long story for he and his partner played by David Straithairn. Brothers In Arms is perfectly slotted into the ending, as has only been used dramatically in 2 other TV series, being The West Wings “Two Cathedrals” and the final ep of “The Americans”. "Arcaro's with you?"

    ( ...Now the sun's gone to hell. Hell. And the moon's riding high. Let me bid you farewell...)
    "Say hello to Mr. Arcaro."
    ( ...Every man has to die... )
    "There's no one here, Hank."
    "He's right there."
    ( ...But it's written in the starlight. And every line in your palm. We're fools to make war. On our bro--...)
    "No siree, Tony! You're not getting away this time!"
    ( ...--thers in arms. )
    "Book him!"

    "Marty, we got him."
    "Yeah, Hank, we do."
    "You knew. You knew he killed Arcaro."

    The series was (and still is) a masterpiece, that scene especially. Saw the show about 10 years ago for a very first time (re-watching it again just now), and that scene's been following me since then.. It's just.. I dunno.. but there's something superior about it - perhaps it's that Dire Straits' song following the characters who eventually discover the truth... It's just real good yet a sad scene.

    Something about this episode really took a back seat on the gangs and drug empire to focus on something more psychological horror based personal and psychological. Hank Weldon was clearly mental and to focus the episode on him was Eerie. The whole episode was. Even Crockett's 6th sense earlier. It made the Miami Vice universe seem like there's so much more to colourful clothing, drugs, fast cars and everything. Plus that reveal at the end was if Crockett and Tubbs didn't know what to do in the end. It was almost like they were dealing with something supernatural just by the mental state the characters were watching Hank Weldon be in.

    I was amazed Miami vice was released on DVD. I thought it would have been for them release it because of music rights. Miami vice Classic cop show and make them like they use to.

    The car soundtrack was a Ferrari Daytona but the actual car was a kit car,built on a Dodge Challenger donor car I think?
    Anyway Enzo Ferrari was watching this particular episode and heard the Daytona soundtrack then saw the kit car and was incensed?
    He rang up the producers and said if you’re going to use a Ferrari then use a real one,so he sent them a white Ferrari Testarossa and the rest as they say is history!

    • @jeshkam
      @jeshkam 7 месяцев назад

      He sent them two black ones, but the producers decided to paint them both white to make them look better in night scenes. The third "Testarossa" was a stunt car made out of a De Tomaso Pantera, I believe. Ferrari gave Don a silver or a gray Testarossa in 1989, which DJ sold in 2003 if I'm not mistaken. Not sure if PMT got one as well though. Oh, the Daytona replica was based on a Chevy Corvette C3. 🙂

      The cop Weldon had gone mad and murdered acquitted mob boss Arcaro. Then he and his partner stuffed him into the wall.
