    One of the best scenes with one of the best soundtracks from one of the best episodes of one of the best cop shows ever. What more is there to say?

    I just watched the ending of The Grand Tour and they used this song with shots of the boys driving, it immediately reminded me of this episode and the Daytona driving.

    They used to know how to make Television back then! Who Didn't want to be Don Johnson, driving that Ferrari in the dark streets of Miami, being a man and protector? They made you dream and feel nostalgia for places you had never been and eras you have never lived. Today, sadly, it's all creengy identity propaganda and unwelcome Leftist politics.

    The best episode out of the entire five seasons. Like many earlier episodes of Miami Vice, this one replaced the usual fatuity of standard police procedural drama, with cold dark cynicism of the highest order. The ending was equally significant with its noir realism.

    • @WorldCupWillie
      @WorldCupWillie 3 месяца назад

      It has a nearly ubiquitous noir theme, namely the appearance of the past in the present.

    An incredible show that wavered a bit in later seasons when the actors were allowed to write and direct their own episodes but, as a whole, it was great. Truly a part of the '80s. Could you imagine it being made now? Crockette would be gay or trans, Tubbs would be a woman, Castillo would in a wheelchair-thank God Hollywood hasn't destroyed it...yet.

  • @greatestmiamifan

    So many memories of the 80s come back to me, the best decade, because an incredible amount of that time still has an impact today. Suddenly so many tears come to my eyes, from joy, from sadness... only this music can do that. Anyone who wasn't there may never be able to understand it properly...

    The car soundtrack was a Ferrari Daytona but the actual car was a kit car,built on a Dodge Challenger donor car I think? Anyway Enzo Ferrari was watching this particular episode and heard the Daytona soundtrack then saw the kit car and was incensed? He rang up the producers and said if you’re going to use a Ferrari then use a real one,so he sent them a white Ferrari Testarossa and the rest as they say is history!

    • @jeshkam
      @jeshkam 7 месяцев назад

      He sent them two black ones, but the producers decided to paint them both white to make them look better in night scenes. The third "Testarossa" was a stunt car made out of a De Tomaso Pantera, I believe. Ferrari gave Don a silver or a gray Testarossa in 1989, which DJ sold in 2003 if I'm not mistaken. Not sure if PMT got one as well though. Oh, the Daytona replica was based on a Chevy Corvette C3. 🙂
