In the words of Ollivander himself, "The Dark Lord was happy with the wand I made for him...until he discovered the connection"

Considering the wood and core that voldemort's wand is made of. Yew is rarer wood and powerful one and the phoenix tail feather core allows wider range of magic. Not to forget that voldemort was as rare as his wand. One of the last ones from perevell and last one of salazar bloodlines.

One thing to point out about the Battle at the Ministry and Voldemort's defeat there - at that time, nobody, especially Voldemort, knew that Dumbledore was using the Elder Wand. Voldemort couldn't dismiss his loss for that reason because he didn't know about it. As far as he knew, Dumbledore was able to hold him off on pure power alone.
I think Voldemort may have heard the story before but dismissed it as a fairytale or because in the story all owners get murdered. Simply because its a dark wizard tale and he searched for all dark ways of power. They die and therefore were weak from Voldemorts point of view.
@@williampaulsinghharika2627 It's possible, but I suspect his vanity wouldn't have let him look at something as childish as fairytales looking for powerful artifacts. He liked his artifacts noble and legendary. But it's purely speculation at this point.
Voldemort did not lose the battle, no one won there. And no, Voldemort never knew about the deathly hallows, he only knew about the existence of the elder wand because Ollivander told him about it during his captivity (Ollivander also did not know about the invisibility cloak or the resurrection stone)
I’d also like to point out that yew wood is also poisonous to humans, so for Voldemort to have such a type of item, it really reflects his character.

Hey man, an idea for a vídeo is "Why Dumbledore permitted Harry to compete on the triwizard tournament"
doesn’t even need a video that was the magic of the goblet of fire as batty crouch said it was a binding magical contract , his name cam out of the goblet, he had to compete. hope that helps :)
Magically bound contract, when a student enters their name there is no going back. Even though Harry didn’t put his name in there it was still his name so he had to.
@@keerah1510 “Binding magical contract” doesn’t really answer the question, though.
What was to stop Harry from simply utilizing his fee will? What would’ve happened if he refused? Die? That seems a bit extreme for a school tournament that, despite the mounting and dangerous challenges in said tournament, still aimed to make it difficult, if not impossible, for its contestants to actually die.
Some kind of imperius effect? That seems extreme for the Ministry of Magic to utilize one of the Unforgivable Curses upon a student who had simply changed their mind.
So what would happen if Harry had of refused to take part and break the magically binding contract? A curse or a spell in azkiban?
@@linzianna well, going by most ‘magical contracts’ result in death if broken, so I’m *presuming* that’s what would happen if he broke it, not sure though
Aside from the fact that Voldemort's wand core was identical to Harry Potter's (which challenged notions of his own uniqueness), there's also the fact that it came, specifically, from a phoenix that belonged to Dumbledore. Had Voldemort been aware of this in the earlier stages of his career, it would have galled him, but at least left him consoled that he could turn it against his former teacher. Once it transpired that Harry did indeed share a twin core in his own wand, it may have left him fearful that his wand would show less "loyalty" to him and interpreted his failings as evidence of this.
I would love to know what his wand originally looked like back when he was still known as Tom Riddle. I own the replica wand and it’s my #1 favorite wand and sometimes I pretend that I’m Tom Riddle.

I think he discarded his wand when he took the elder wand off of dumbledore body. How cool would it of been if the wand then called to harry before he went into the forest to sacrifice himself then him turning it on voldemort at the end battle.
What if since they are twin wands Harry could duel wield them? Like he’d have his own style of dueling since he’d have two wands to fire spells.
@@darthridic123 they weren't twins. Harry's wand was a Holly wand while Tom's was a yew wand. They are brothers. I do like the idea of using two wands but the harry in movies and to done extent the books harry is lazy.
The feathers were and that connection is why Voldemort couldn’t kill Harry. The wands literally resisted dueling each other. The reason I say they’re twins is because I’m assuming both feathers were taken at the same time and the wands were created/completed roughly around the same time. That’s what makes them twins but not identical due to the different materials outside the core. They’d be siblings if one was created a few years before the other.
@@craigamills7276 true which is a shame. As the Chosen One, The Boy Who Lived and Harry becoming an Oracle who became just as famous for his unique new dueling style as his Legend. Like imagine him creating the new style that future generations would use. The techniques created to adapt to two wands, and the fact Harry taught other students fairly well in Order of the Phoenix, I’d assume he’d be able to teach a handful of people who would later down the line spread the style.
@@darthridic123 again I do like the idea alot but j k Rowling didn't give us that harry. She gave us a harry that was average at best sure he did some amazing things like saving sirius from dementors but other than that he didn't like learning about magic. If I had been harry finding out about a whole hidden world I'd want to learn everything about it
Another reason I think he had was that he felt he had grown so much in knowledge & control that he felt he should be able to tap into his full magical potential without a wand at all. That way, he wouldn't even have to worry about the fact his wand had a twin, implying that someone could/would become his equal.
Here's something I've wondered about. How is it possible that Ollivander remembers every wand he's ever sold? And how old is he by the time we meet him in Sorcerer's Stone?
(jokingly says) sssssshhhhhhhh we dont want the secret location of nicholas flammel waved about everywhere.
As an artist, an old artist, at that, I can tell you that I remember every painting, every carving.
Voldemort is the guy that always has an excuse because he can't accept his own failure. The best thing about the whole situation is that harry beat voldemort with the most basic spell though!
His excuses were legitimate, though.
i'd argue the point that, once he's brought back, Voldemort was no longer the same person physically. The new body may have confused his original wand, as this is the same distorted mind but not the same body that it chose so many years earlier.

Yes please. I would love to see that video. Great idea. 😁
He didn’t know the future but he knew about the protection of the twin cores.
I thought he destroyed it with the elder wand. Would be kind of a parallel to Harry repairing his wand with it
I think that wands being sentient was supposed to be an allegory for friendship. A wizard without friends or a wand could be great but a wizard with friends and a wand could be greater than imaginable.
This makes me wonder... After Voldy's first defeat, how did he got his wand back?
I mean, he lost his body, so he couldn't retrieve his wand...

@@emeraldqueen1994 its weird though bcoz where did he store the wand for 12 years. surely he wasnt bringing it to hogwarts with him every year, so after getting exposed, did he visit the burrow to get it back or did he hide it somewhere else which would be far away from him.

I expect the Ministry of Magic would have raided Malfoy Manor after the Battle of Hogwarts. In order to appear repentant and terrorized, Malfoy Senior would have allowed it and spun a harrowing tale of how they were nearly killed every day. I expect the wand was confiscated, as were any other remnants of Voldemort’s stay. Harry Potter, despite being the wands new owner, would probably have had no desire to ever see it again. I expect the wand to be locked up some were at the ministry, possibly studied, but essentially alone.
I doubt it . They got the Tom's broken yew wand to grow into a hollow yew tree and buried Tom Riddle's body inside it.
Excellent theory! After the Elder Wand, Riddle's is my fav. So unique and memorable! While I can agree with your theory I think it's more consistent with Riddle's character that after obtaining it his first action with it was to destroy his old one. Ultimately he viewed his wand in the same light as his Death Eaters. Useful till they're not and once they are not should be disposed of, I think.
Harry's wand when he touched it for the very first time "hahahaha imma bout to start some shit up in here serves my twin right being picked first "
Not what I was expecting. I thought They said he was Satisfied with his wand?
He was satisfied until he found out Harrys wand is a twin wand to Voldemorts.
I’ve always wondered how Voldemort kept his wand with him when he became less than a ghost after failing to kill Harry the first time and why Quirell did not have the wand with him when Voldy used Quirell’s body.
Petergrew went back and got the wand for voldemort in godric hallows (lily’s sacrifice) the summer before events of goblet of fire
@@minecraftsteve6997 That idea bugs me. That wand would have been a powerful piece of evidence for the Ministry to tell people Voldemort was gone? It's kinda a good thing that Voldemort was seeking a replacement as Harry's wand was damaged and Harry used Draco Malfoy's wand at their duel in the end of the Deathly Hallows. If Voldemort didn't... The outcome would be very different

I don't think so, Voldemort was using another wand in the chase at the beginning of the book against Harry, and Harry's wand was opposing this wand, too. So I think this should have worked to the other way.
At the point where the last Horcrux was destroyed, I think Voldemorts fate was clear that he will be the one who dies in the last battle.
@@Crydus I'm talking about the end of Deathly Hallows, not at the start where Harry was with Hagrid going to the Weasley Burrow and Voldemort was using the wand of Lucius Malfoy
@@DomCobb1 Yeah, I know. The situation there was the same but turned around. So even if Voldemort would have had the Phoenix wand there, Harry's new wand (Draco's) would have known the other one.
@@Crydus What? Voldemort was the rightful owner of his own wand. So why will it backfire the killing curse?! Harry would lose as the elder wand isn't used in this case. The elder wand would be Harry's and it wouldn't kill it's owner (the more powerful wizard), but Voldemort wouldn't be using it in this case. Voldemort would lose if Harry was using the elder wand which is a different situation. I'm pretty sure it would be buried with Dumbledore if Voldemort wasn't looking for it
Loved the video! I was wondering (this is more of a “what if...” scenario) what if Voldemort was able to have access to use his ancestral wand from Salazar Slytherin? Would his magic be channeled better, worse, or the same?
Even if you are wrong, you are a ripping good storyteller!
The book ending explains this, Harry defeats Voldemort during a duel and wins the wands allegiance. Afterwards in the book Dumbledore resides in a painting in his office study. That’s how he and Severance Snape communicate and discuss Strategy, on winning the 2nd war all though the Deathly Hallows books. The morning after defeating Voldemort and his army of death eaters, Harry then uses the elder wand to repair his own broken wand and give it back to Headmaster Dumbledore for safe keeping.

However.we aren't told there was a post war raid on Malfoy Manor, if Hermione recovered her Vinewood wand.or if Voldemort's original wand was even found.

Quick question: you say that Voldy's wand awaited its master's return hoping he would forgive its failure. Yet the Elder Wand knew that its master (Draco) had been disarmed by its new master (Harry) by physical force despite having been nowhere near at the time. If one wand can sense a physical disarming of its master at a distance I would expect another to be able to sense its own chosen master's death the same way.
So on to the question: is this a mere oversight on my part or on yours, or do you think the Elder Wand had special abilities to sense such things?
I think Dumbledore made Voldemort's wand to keep a kind of edge over/eye on Tom. He used Falkses Feather and Enchanted it to choose Tom. Dumbledore made two wands one for dark magic one for light magic just in case his deep down feelings of Tom being Evel were wrong. And since Harry had a piece of Voldemort inside of him the other wand chose Harry because it sensed the light in him. Falks was Dumbledore's horcrux he created after the death of his sister. Harry and Voldemort's wands were part Dumbledore.

Voldemort's arrogance is blinding.
That "wand lore" thing makes perfect sense from my cultural perspective. Everything has a manidoo, or like spirit/essence, that makes it part of the larger web of life. All things belong to their tribe, so we are the two legged tribe, animals are four legged, birds are winged, rocks are stone tribe, trees are standing tribe, fish swimming, etc.
So a tree has the manidoo in it and its spirit permeates its being, and if you cut that tree down and turn it into a table, that table still has the tree manidoo in it, it's still referred to linguistically as a living being. Its wood is forever embued with its living spirit. The table is still recognised to be that living creature, the tree.
So a wand would be alive in two ways, as they are made from one of the standing tribe and one from whatever four legged or winged creature gives a strand of hair or feather as the core. So it would have 2 manidoo.
In my culture, we say wood from a tree that was struck by lightning has thunderbird spirit in it, and a hair that came from a white bear or bison, or a feather from a white raven (what we would call spirit bear, spirit bison, etc) is a sacred item. Those would be very powerful talismans.
Anything made from those two things would be a very precious item. And they'd both been referred to as animate objects. Idk about "thinking" but possessing living energy that is profound and powerful on its own? That can affect reality? Yeah. Makes sense to me.
Is it possible to use 2 wands?? Like one in each hand
Tank you for addressing the issue of where his wand might be.

Zinc tablets have a better option in the morning to get a bit more balanced but a bit of an extreme extrapolation of what I said before. The first thing I want to do is to get a better picture of the screen shot by a hunter with a view to it. The audio is a bit different from the first video but it's not quite as accurate to record it with the original version so you can leave reviews on RUclips too as well and good to use it with a kindle bag or something.
I disagree...my theory is that he left it in Dumbledores tomb as a middle finger to dumbledore, and to let anyone else who could track the elderwand down that he had it, as his wand was famous by then. When Harry put the Elder wand back, he found Voldemort’s wand in the tomb and kept is as both a reminder of his fallen foe and because it was the brother of his wand and fawkes feather was in both, so maybe in honor of dumbledore
He left that wand on the ground at Dumbledores grave, not even gone lie to you lol.
It really bugs me that the wand looks so white and pale, almost like it's made from bone, when yew isn't that colour at all.
Maybe all the evil acts he committed changed its appearance?
Love the green liquid background! Great video as always👏
You know what ironic ?
Had Lord Voldermort used his Phoenix wand in this last fight with Harry in the great hall during that battle of Hogwarts(reference the book not the movie) he would've won. Also Voldermort put up a great fight against Mcgonall, Slughorn and Shacklebolt with winning the elders wands allegiance.
Yes because any witch or wizard can use any wand & make the spells work the spells just won't b as powerful as if u use a wand that's given u it's allegiance so voldy could still use spells like fiendfyre & the killing curse since he'd already learned how 2 use them it'd just b more effective if he had the elder wands allegiance
If you like vampire books you might want to try watching the old vampire series Forever Knight which has a couple of books written about it as well. Love all your Harry Potter videos.
Now I can't help but wonder if Rowling might have had the same idea...as well as something about wizards having such a close connection to their wand that it would be possible to use it to resurrect them somehow...

I always have wondered how Sirius got his wand back after escaping Azkaban. I'm guessing it was sent to his parents when he was sent to Azkaban, but also when he is in dog forms where is his wand. Same for Bellatrix, how did she gets her wand back after Azkaban and of course Voldemort' where was his wand for all of those years and why did no one remove it and destroy it from the Potter's house if it was left behind when he was turned into little more than a ghost. Why wouldn't the prisoners who were sent to Azkaban for life have their wands destroyed?

SO Harry would have been the owner of Four wands his original wand, Malfoy's wands (though he didn't realize that was the master of the elder wand also that of Dumbledore's other wand.) the elder wand AND (just my my opinion here) Dumbledore's original wand.
I’m here for vampire content! 🤩🤩🤩 So excited!
I understood, Voldy died cuz his stupidity, pride, ego, he was blind bu his arrogance. I mean such a potential is lost for negative things, killing n harming others
Dean i didn't know you're making a vampire youtube channel! Any chance you'd cover the Cirque Du Freak series??
Great theory. I like it. I was really trying to think where the wand would be after seeing the thumbnail and start of the video.
During priori incantatem harry pushed the circle right from the tip of his own wand to the tip of Voldemorts wand. Does that imply harry was more powerful than Voldemort in terms of raw power?
Harry and voldemort in some extent were the same person, harry had Voldemort's spirit in him, and Voldemort had taken on Harrys spirit, it was the phoenix tears that Harry had received in the Chamber of secrets that made the difference.
Audible partnered with you! That's so good!
Voldemort is just like the elder wand, no loyalty to his wand (master) the moment it fails him
I wouldn't be surprised if they had actually burned it as a way to rid themselves of further ties to him, but hard to say.
Hello i have two questions:
First in the harry potter and the chamber of secrets at the end when tom riddle says that the parselmouth of harry won’t save him because the basilisk only obey the heir of slytherin, harry as a horcrox could’ve controlled the basilisk if he tried?
Second when he was bitten by the basilisk why the horcrox inside harry did not die?
Here's a thought what if Voldemort's wand was no longer his and it too recognized harry as it's true master same as the elder wand
Gordrics hallow
It back fired killing him that's one loss to harry and side note could be a reason the second core chose him as well not to mention the horcruxes thing
Voldemort loses 2 more times to harry before he makes his official return in the graveyard and proceeds to lose again to the same kid at some point I think the wand would have no choice bit to change alligence so by the time the ministry battle happens the wand is looking kinda unwilling to fight at full power even though Voldemort's magic is great but as he said that's cause voldemort himself is great I guess my point is what if Voldemort's wand isn't his anymore and that's a huge contributor to the hellish cycle of "lose, resentment, lose" cause it really belongs to harry now
Hey man your videos are really good, but could you turn the volume up a little? They're a bit quiet
I love the way he says any like annie. Love binge watching his vids. Thank you for making the pandemic days better
Hey! Can you do a video explaining what was going on in the wizarding world in America during the time Voldemort was in power?
I think this isn't necessarily on topic but in a previous video Harry Potter Folklore discusses how Dumbledore may have survived after Snape zapped him on top of the Astronomy tower. Dumbledore was 'buried' with his wand and Voldemort robbed it from him. Harry subsequently broke the wand and threw away the pieces after the Battle of Hogwarts and after he repaired his own shattered Holly wand. So if Dumbledore did survive he had no wand. Did Olivander make him another one? Honestly I can't imagine Dumbledore allowing his 'grave' to be robbed in that manner, especially by Voldemort!
hello I was wondering do you take suggestion when it come to what you will make into some of the Harry Potter what if videos
Ooooooooooo. Exactly 10 minutes. Love that.
How can you say wands can't produce but only channel when you yourself said that wands have the tendency to summon lightning strikes when being stolen or used by someone that's not supposed to have it
Dean just when I believe I have thought of EVERYTHING about Harry Potter, someone like you comes along and reveals a detail I have never thought about. Like what ever happened to Voldemort's wand. I mean geez I have been studying these books for over 20 years. One would think there would be an ending of study? Hahaaa but I feel I could definitely study them another ten years !!
Crossover question; who is more powerful, Lord Voldemort or Lord Richard Rahl from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series? Unlike Voldemort, RR didnt need or even used a wand.
Has anybody wondered why Harry's and Voldemort's had diff woods used for their wands but yet are supposed to be sister wands supposed to be evenly matched when it's both the core and the wood that makes the wand power
