The parthenon is something you need to get up there in real life to really enjoy the majesty of the building. In all videos and photos it looks small and boring. When I went there on a school trip I was like "woa this is fucking amazing".

Acropolis means "at the edge of the city" and many ancient ruins across the country have the same name. The temple was named Parthenon because inside the temple of Athena there were only girls who were maidens (parthenon=maiden) and 2nd according to the legend , Athenians didn't choose Poseidon because the water that was promised was sea water which was useless for them as it was salty and not drinkable.
