I'm considering getting my CDL and starting a small family business like my buddies father who taught me everything. I'm with big boys now doing a little bit of everything but it screams to me to start my own business. If I ever get enough credit history and cash I really want one of these and if I have to run a truck for a couple years until I can get a skid steer and a leeboy 8000/8500 start doing stuff with a couple guys. That auger attachment is a game changer. Though I think pushing wheel barrows for ten years helped develop my character 😂 Definitely love watching this I wish you guys would come out with more videos!

Not sure if this would be beneficial but if there was two extra buttons on the remote to signal to the driver instead of having to take your hands off the control to wave them on. One button for forwards will signal the driver and another button for stop. Even if it was led lights flashing by their mirrors in the cab. This would allow the control operator to not need to focus on getting the drivers attention and can keep their hands on the control moving the auger position.

Looking at the open auger, there is a lot of buildup stuck under the screw and sidewalls for what little the unit has been operated. The screw better be quick and easy to pull out because it's going build up very quickly. What are you using as "degreaser" ? Is that straight diesel fuel? What is the load rating and how many cubic feet are lost than a normal box designed end-dump. With a reduced box size, won't that mean more loads being hauled and in turn, a longer day for the entire crew and plant operator(s)?

Couple thoughts; how about look at some of the wrecker (heavy duty tow truck) pin on equipment maybe a tag axle for further capacity, a solid pin design easier to connect into a plate on the truck body, if you are using the auger for a primary stage how about a secondary extendable stage that is belt driven (lighter and not as heavy since you already augmented the material) for greater material spread without moving the truck. Possibly more integrated control from the ground versus driver for PTO / Body & Aux paving accessory......Name BTBS203.1 (Black Top Bill Stanley).....nice work from a great group of guys!!

As with auto production, a lot of ideas come from backyard customizers. This is a prime example of ideas from "them that's doing". I seen the trucks in the shop tour and thought how sharp they looked. You may want to park #2 in the living room, just so you can look and say "this is our idea", I can't believe we did this" perfect example of spending a buck to make a buck. Reinvest into your company. Make it grow. A life's work your sons will be proud to carry on. Thanks for the intro to the new addition of tools you use everyday.

i think you could change the clean out assembly on bottom some sort of sliding gate , also is bed heated and could it be ? (maybe on sides ) also really great vision and craftsmanship by you and trout run good stuff

The trout rivers that I ran weren't heated, I'm sure they could be by piping the truck exhaust thru like they do with some slinger and dump bodys. But the bodys are so well insulated, we would be on a Dot job sitting for 6-8 hours with a load doing patches with base and it was coming out just as hot as it went in!

I Sent this video to my foreman of my smaller crew , before I finished the video I told him you would need 2 in order to make it useful . I continued watching and bam there's the 2nd one and you said exactly what I said . I'm very curious how much this cost for the full build ?

I think adding in load cell or inline air pressure monitors on the rear bags would allow you to know what tonnage you have left on board and when you start. Takes the guess work out of knowing or thinking you know what's loaded or left on the truck

Agreed!!! Hard to tell what’s in the truck without the body raised in the air. We discussed this the other day. Most likely going to add them to this unit this winter!

revolutionary idea. This is going to change the north American industry overnight, And its Canadian. Wouldn't be the first time we have revolutionized the road and highway construction industry.

Amazing machines, much like a metered concrete truck. Good to see a veteran business owner and craftsman such as yourself, giving back to the trades. We need more like you to take them to the next level.

I think you could put that bed on a cabover style truck and have even more mobility than that long nose conventional

Next you need a truck to go back to the ashphalt plant and auger it into your fancy new trucks. Enjoying this from the UK.

That's brilliant, seen parts of it before but not integrated like you've done it!
Looks like you've got some smart, attentive guys working for you - makes all the difference to service life and overall efficiency.
For a name, i was thinking "Lazy Susan"?

That would work really good for a city, patching on day, top soil fix ups, and mulch around trees, Then in the winter use it to top salt up on side walk plows.

Fantastic setup......my only area of concern is this truck is gonna likely see TONS of idle time. And so the trucks DEF system is likely gonna give you FITS. Just be prepared to do abnormal amounts of parked regens.

Sweet setup, proves necessity is the mother of invention. On an unrelated note, I don't understand how people can live on top and next to each other like that shot at 21:45. That's insanity, especially for what they probably charge.
