Dalo or taro and cassavva are staples... like rice. We eat it with most of our meal. Dalo is actually starch. Kokoda is raw fish...when she said its cooked, its actually cooked in lemon. Soaked in lemon for a few hours
There are youths who are 3rd or 4th generation urban settlers, in Suva city (including Lami town, Nasinu town, Nausori town that are adjacent), Nadi town, Lautoka city. Their grand or great grandparents were children who left from their villages, from whichever part of Viti they came from. They met and got married in the city/town. At the current time of these generation, their traditions, cultural values and all is thin to none. So they're displaced. These are the youths who are being blamed to criminal activities. So beware of them. Youths from villages are very different. They're well grounded and behaved.
There's crime everywhere in the world and especially in towns and cities. This is not what this vlog is about. Please watch the video if you haven't already. HIDDEN DOWNSIDE OF VISITING FIJI ❤ He was praising the country. He loved his time in Fiji, that the downside was, Having to leave the shores of Fiji Islands. And he was thanking the people who helped/showed him around Fiji, that made his trip to Fiji a memorable one. In case you missed that memo @nasinuwarrior85 ✌️🕊️
Why didn't you blame the corrupt police (not saying that they are). Why don't you blame the drug for coming into the country? Why don't you blame the politicians, for not delivering what they promise. Or provide work and amenities for the youth!! @NasinuWarrior85
@@eskay13 Thanks for the comment! I agree and always say there is no such thing as a perfect country. Crime and corruption is in all countries and will never disappear. It's just some countries have more of it than others.
@@Air_Planemodeif you ever get to Australia. They have a version of the Fijian Kokoda, maybe try it out. There is a twist in their version/recipe, (RACV, a chain of motorhomes, caravan, cabin and hotel and restaurants, all in one establishment). I've never tried the Real version of the Fiji Islands. All the best air ✈️ 📳
@@Air_Planemode🥰❤️ good on you for diving in to the culture, food, atmosphere and enjoying being in another country, seeing it through the eyes of the local. Thee Best Way To See The Country, in my humble opinion. 💕✌️
@@eskay13 Thanks for the suggestion for their version! I always thought about visiting Melbourne or Sydney to see friends I know there. Maybe next year it's on the list.

Thanks for the comment! With me it's only the Kokoda I didn't like. Everything else was delicious. I can't wait to return.
Good on you mate. Have yourself an awesome trip back home. Thanks for your posts.

It's a culture thing. I don't blame you for not liking the food.
Thanks for the comment! In particular it was only Kokoda. Everything else was delicious.
